- There is a special bond between a man and a dog, their love is unconditional. The feeling it is not something we want to go a life without experiencing. When we adopt a dog we save a life of loving animal by making them part of our family and open up shelter space for another animal who might desperately need it. And what we gain is the greatest gift of all, beyond just the deep satisfaction of choosing life...we are choosing love. There is nothing as healing and soul-fulfilling as looking into the eyes of unconditional love....and of course the smiles that come from that feeling make the absolute best selfies!
Hudson was with us for 10 years, and he truly was one of the best companions, very gentle, docile, loving, and lovable by everybody including our cats...

I just watched several of your videos and hadn't realized Hudson was no longer living. The bond between a dog and it's human is unlike any other. I can see in all your videos how much you love your animals and they love you right back. Hudson and you were greatly blessed to have each other. Thank you for being the man you are.♡

I'm crying too as I sit up in bed watching this video, heart breaking, surrounded by 3 of my 5 rescue cats. Why do they have to leave us? They belong on this earth so much longer than those awful people we see on the news.

Many believe that before Adam & Eve sinned and creation was cursed, that animals could talk. The serpent talked to Eve. Much later Balaam's donkey spoke to him - God "opened her mouth", so it sounds like she already had these thoughts but was given the abilty to express them in speech. It would necessarily had to have been in a language that Balaam could understand.

She studied with me at university lying under the desk, went with me on every holiday, she accompanied My Life for nearly 14 years and is in my Heart forever...perhaps they Meet in Dog-Heaven ...

@ fairybits. Animals know and morn by death. Immediately after burying my beloved cat Bailey, my younger cat Lana, dissapeared for 2 days. On the 3rd day, Lana sat next to and stared at Bailey's grave for the following 6 days and nights. It was both heartbreaking and heartwarming to see

I am so sorry for your loss. He couldn't have asked for a better life and you provided him with the best this planet has to offer as well as the best a man has to offer, unconditional love. You will get through this, even though the dog has passed, Hudson will always be with you.
Recently discovered your channel....you, the part of you we can see through your love of your animals and nature. In this short time, only about 1 week, I have come to see the special bond of love, friendship and respect you hold in your heart for your dogs, cats, horses, and all wildlife. But especially Hudson, and Nanny. I noticed that Hudson was an older dog...many of my dogs, who were all rescues, lived into the double digits. I've loved and cared for each and everyone holding each one as each one crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
I am crying now having just watched your beautiful memorial and saw the stone you made for your beloved dog, Hudson. I feel I was just was getting to know your Hudson now only to find that you have lost this soul mate. You were both lucky to have eachother. Remember all dogs go to heaven....we will meet them again. I miss my dogs every day. And now I have 2 more rescues...each one different and special in their own way. My Ozzie, was just very sick. He may have a bone cancer. May find out next week after another blood test. He is now, so much better, almost back to himself...sleeping here next to me,
his head on my shoulder. My other little one, asleep on my stomach...I am again, surrounded by love. I am so very sorry for the loss of your Hudson...you gave him a beautiful life, in a beautiful place....but no matter where in this world where one is with their beloved friend is a beautiful place in time. Aww I was just telling my daughter today, that it was a year since I lost my little best friend. Lilly my yorkie and she did everything with me. I was telling heaven, I hope she knows how much I miss her. Then as I sat here thinking of her, I had notification of some You Tube videos. And one of them was this one. I take that as a sign from my Lillybug. 😢😢 Happy cry! Thanks for sharing this!!
Yorkie are one of my faves. I used to dog sit one and his owner called me early one morning to tell me he was gone. We just cried together on the phone. His name was Tully. One day, we will all live free with our furry companions and all God's creatures.

My son Jonathan had a dog he got from his sister. Her name is Lakai and she is a Sheagle or German Shepherd/Beagle. She is now 10 years old. If you noticed I said Jonathan HAD a dog it is because Jonathan died in January 2011 and left Lakai without a daddy. Jon was 24 at the time and was loved by many people even his girlfriend at the time still misses him and thinks she will never meet anyone as nice, kind, generous, hard-working and brave. Yes he was all that, thanks mostly to his Mom. My other son Justin took Lakai home to be with him and his wife.
Lakai is happy now.
She is part of Jonathan left behind and I will grieve greatly when she passes as I pretty much house-trained her and taught her not to bark crazily with joy when I or Jon came home. LOL I would have taken her, but I lived in an apt that didn't allow dogs over 20 lbs. My son Justin loves her and she him. Though he may complain her vet bills are too high he nevertheless takes her to the vet when needed immediately. Justin will be utterly brokenhearted when she dies, probably more than I. By the way, CBD oil, which is legal in all 50 states helps quite a bit with Lakai's arthritis in her hips and even helps mine in my neck as it is a great anti-inflammatory.
It happens that every time I lose a dog takes a piece of my heart with him, and every dog that comes into my life gives me a piece of his. If I can live long enough, all parts of my heart will be dog, and I will become as good and generous as they are

I am so sorry. Saying goodbye to our furry friends is never easy to do. (It's pretty much awful, let's be honest) You gave him a great life though. Obviously was one really happy and lucky dog who knew he was very much loved. RIP Hudson.

Hudson was a lovely and wonderful dog. So do you, a wonderful and lovely person. I am so sorry for your lost but it doesn't go like that excactly.. Our animals - pets, all of them have so much love to give to us.. unconditional love. This is the lesson we receive from them. To live our lifes in a better way. They teach us how to do it, and how to spread our love to all humanity. To love each other no matter what. Because if we do not do that, then what? If we do not help each other in our way(any way we choose) then what? I have a dog(collie) and she teaching me a lot. I adore my dog. And because of her, i adore people too. I have a cat also(only one because the others are in heaven now). And those animals teach me 2 things. My dog teach me to bring pure love in my heart and spread it out loud and clear to anything, to everybody. And my cats teach me how to make a goal, to not take my eyes of my goal and finally to achieved. Dogs and cats are unique creatures, us we are. And living together with them and share the nature also, this make a miricle to our lifes.

thank you Vicky!! very true what you are saying, our pets are best teachers of love and life!! Dogs are great example of unconditional love. And cats for sure goal seekers... we have one cat that moved in with us from a neighbors, he traveled great distance to get to our place, he had to cross a river, forest with many coyotes, wolf, grizzly bears, mountain lions... We took him back in a car where he came from, and few days later he showed up again... so now he lives with our cats, and he is just happy, very energetic cat that follows me every where :)

Well done, well said! An old soul in a young man's body. I went from thinking, "Man, I wish I was that dog!" (a thought that never crossed my mind!) to tears and then to appreciation. Whenever a pet dies I'm always mourn for a really long time but you are right when you said they go somewhere better, somewhere fun and wonderful. There is no love like the love of a dog. I lost the love of my life and my best friend in the whole world last year - Barley was a 16-year-old beagle/schnauzer that was with me every step of the way since he was 6 wks old. I will forever miss him and my heart will never be whole again because he took a piece of it with him when he passed. I'm praying your Hudson and my Barley and everyone else's bestest 4-legged buddies are running, playing, and jumping around - free from pain or sickness - as they wait to see us again at the Rainbow Bridge. Heaven wouldn't be heaven at all without dogs.

what a beautiful relationship. we have always adopted dogs from shelters, I'm now in company of a lil one from La Réunion island. I had my 1st dog at the age of 2 :-) until my 17th birthday... I still think of her, still love her so much despite her absence, I'm happy I could have a dog again today since we are in a house. Dogs are really amazing, I love them so much !!! and cats, and any other kind of species in fact LOL. be blessed for being so kind with animals ! rest in peace Hudson

I have a best friend called Windji. He was part corgi and part husky. I called him my St-James special because he found me in the James bay region. He had black waterproof fur, long body and the curly tail of a husky, but huge corgi ears and short corgi legs (which almost did him in, in the deep snow of the north). His quirky look was only surpassed by his charming sense of humour. Initially I saved him from drowning but as we became a team and I travelled for work he brought a balance and joy with his humour and companionship into my life that was his special gift to me. Other times I left him with my Mother who he helped to care for as she grew elderly. When we had to say good bye on this earth we were all heart broken. Soon after my Mum began to fail as well. Several times my Mum told me that Windji had come to sit on her bed, something his short legs had never allowed. He brought my Mum and I some peace. Windji was still caring for my Mum and sharing his extraordinary capacity to love with us. WindjiDog my best friend.

I'm very sorry for your loss of Hudson. As someone who lost his best buddy (T-Bone) of 17 years, I know how you feel. He gave me not only friendship but all his love, as I did him. Although I still suffer from his loss, knowing he had a great 17 long years for us to love each other, that comforts me. . .

Thanks for making this beautiful video. I knew the two of you were close but Hudson was always so gentle in your other videos that it was hard to get a sense of his personality. Our animal friends are never just what they seem at first. They are truly marvelous and so was (and is) Hudson. Forgive me if this is old news, but I recently saw an image of a man sitting with his dog. The man is thinking about all kinds of things while the dog's thought mirrors the moment - the two sitting quietly together.
