so when I organise an amphibious operation I had to reverse a ship 4 times longer than normal LCMs without weapons while enemy's firing?It seems easier parachuting troops from a Space Shuttle for me

Vulnerable during the turnaround phase albeit for a short time.
All ships are vulnerable when conducting amphibious landings, it is up to the destroyer/frigate escorts to protect them.
