HVAC Disaster New Build...Revamped Our Own Ductwork

Here's a snippet of the horrible HVAC install our builder approved. We had to pause the build, bring in our own guy and redo the main trunklines just to have a decent system.

Can't beat experience! Sexy sheet metal for sure!
Flex is okay if it's pulled within 4% compression rate, but only used as branches off a pressurized trunk.

They are not afraid they just do not have the skill set available in most areas. Sheet metal bending and learning how to make duct from sheet metal is a dying part of the trade. Because everyone just wants cheaper labor.

I may in the future pull the flex and run round metal myself. Pull flex lines off where needed.
I fear for our country. Skills are being lost.

Unfortunately this was a fully custom home, which made it much more annoying that our builder wasn’t on top of things
