That is an absolutely beautiful arrangement of a great song. Thank you Ron! I wish you had a transcription of it!I know you are just improvising so probably not, but i would buy that beautiful transcription.
Well, that's an absolutely beautiful thing to say, April! You're correct about it being an improvisation and I haven't transcribed it. Give it a try yourself and gradually get more comfortable playing the song in this style :)
Thanks James, and Merry Christmas to you too! Here's an early recording of the Beatles performing Besame Mucho. There are also later studio versions where they played it slower: th-cam.com/video/2z9LrNxCvVk/w-d-xo.html
Interesting! I had noticed that in a lot of the Beatles songs some of their modulations and chord changes at times seemed to show some knowledge of jazz. I guess it stems from the time they did a lot of covers and learned a lot of music.
Agreed. Also, because British popular music wasn't as blues based as much of American music was, there was a different variety of music heard there at the time, like in the English pub singlongs and music hall venues. Add this to the Broadway and jazz standards they covered, and the Beatles had more to draw from than most groups. Also, they were more open to it than most musicians would be. They had to convince George Martin to let them mix styles in the early days. (I even heard an Ed Sheeran song on the radio recently that sounds like a sea chantey. Not many American pop or rock artists would do this, except Billy Joel and a few others.)
You put Tears in my eyes in a good way Just Beautiful Pete Sr.
Really sweet playing.
Thanks! It's such a great song to play and improvise on.
