Kommer inte ihåg om motorvärmaren brann upp eller om den brände alla säkringar till uttaget den satt kopplad i, men den hade inte gjort sitt jobb iaf, o de är ju lite utom vår kontroll
Would holding down the Stop button for the first 10 seconds of cranking make it easier to fire up? It worked most of the time when I was a bus driver back in the 1970's and 1980's, Volvo THD100 motors.
@@eliaslundstedt5607 - Yes I know, it's one of the 2 models of cold starter that Scania used. The other one was that you pulled out the linkage arm for the accellerator. If you crank it with the stop buttin held in you get a little bit of heat from the compression without any freezing cold diesel injected in to the cylinder, it might help.
@@mbo191 thing is we never put the locomotive on full throttle untill we drove away. We were going out for a shrubb clearingt run with a cranewagon with a brush cutter on it, and only when leaving this station after the engine had idled for plenty long enough to warm up did we go full thottle. Only thing I remember dad doing that day is jamming a screw driver in the throttle so it stays at about 40-50% throttle, which we normally do.
@@eliaslundstedt5607 - No worries, the injection pump actually resets itself when the motor fires up, that's when it is revving up and then the revs drop down to idle. That's why you have to push the button every time you try again.
@@marttiini5279 The Valmet 815D is a licensed copy of the Scania D815 yes, but the D815 Scania is a turbocharged unit with I think 220 or 240 horsepower, while the Valmet 815D is naturally aspirated and makes 180 horsepower, in that regard being more similar to the D812, which is the one In the video, which is naturally aspirated as well, but with 190 horsepower. The D812 and D815 are very similar, with them being almost the same, just with the D815 being turboed. Still, the Valmed 815D is based of the D815
Love your by man made machinerie
Gorgeous
That's awesome 🤘🤘
Looks like a cold start without preheating. That's a good way to blow out the head gaskets....

No, the button I am pressing is the cold start valve. As far as I know you should let it close if It wants to
