Second Draconian? I love you twice as much. Now you need to react "Sleepwalkers". Try also old band - Theatre of Tragedy. Maybe "Venus" or "Siren"?. Calm songs from legendary band.

Awesome band. I found them when they did release videos Sorrow of Sophia and Sleepwalkers from the new album.
More doom? Check out Swallow the Sun.

Draconian is one of my favorite band of all time! I've been a fan for more than 15 years and I have all their albums!
Enjoyed your reaction once again guys!
"Death, come near me" is one of their masterpiece but it's a very long, dark, atmospheric song, I wouldn't jump into it right away since you guys seem kinda knew to the genre.. unless you feel ready of course!
I'd recommend Bloodflower, Morphine Cloud or The Last Hour of Ancien Sunlight next, they are all very good and not too hard to get into songs. Plus you will get to hear Lisa, the original female vocalist who I absolutely adore! (I love Heike too, but it's not the same.. haha)

Greetings from Finland & thanks for this reaction. I hope that after this one it's time for their best song: Draconian - Death, Come Near Me (HQ AUDIO) th-cam.com/video/4ekiQzgvLwg/w-d-xo.html
P.S. The intro is about 3 minutes long & the whole song over 15 minutes.

A dark instrumental song including growling sound together with a high female head voice, always a great combination, good choice.

Great to see you do Draconian again. The video's super distracting though; so you should definitely give it a listen by itself!
If you stick with them, I'd seriously recommend The Marriage of Attaris.
If you want to branch out a bit, I'd love to see you react to Messa (an Italian doom band); either Leah or The Seer (both are fantastic, with great female vocals, but avoid the official video for Leah if you're scared of snakes!)

One of my favorite videos. The "edited" parts just hit me every time. If you want one where Heike really shines, try Rivers Between Us, which has a beautifully animated official lyric video, and Pale Tortured Blue, where you would have to just use the regular song upload, and / or alternatively there's also a decent live version @ MS Connexion Complex, Mannheim 2019-01-25.

Hi Ginger and Mike - you might like Ison - the first three albums are Heike (from Draconian) and Daniel Anghede who has been Draconian's bass player for the last 5 or 6 years. They aren't heavy, but create unbelievable darkscapes of music. Daniel is an incredible multi instrumentalist, and Heike brings dark and emotion like nobody else on earth. th-cam.com/video/N-EPaSb6mSQ/w-d-xo.html This is the only "proper" video from the first 3 albums, and it is a masterpiece that they "just put together".... They have recently released a 4th album, but as Heike is currently stuck in South Africa (and singing with Light Field Reverie) Daniel has an array of guest singers on it.

@@tarmotyyri6733 Most of them and I don't really enjoy any of them..... their metal feels dated and stale... on the other hand I am a death metal kind of guy so it might suit others better than me... even if I listen to most music genres you can bet your life on that if it is played on main stream radio I will not like it and the bands you mentioned are all radio material

Draconian songs are ... JUST SO WELL WRITTEN... and you can see it on your faces. Every aspect of those songs is working together, the guitar works even between words but not being annoying, the heavyness of the tone but the angelic voice and the pure brutality of the growls... but not stupid "just growling" like most bands but proper "heartfelt growls"... I can't even descripe how amazing they are... I stumbled across one of their eraliest albums in a CD-shop more than a decade ago and ever since they are my second most favourite band after Katatonia.

Have enjoyed your channel and much of the music on it however having trawled your playlists and given the breadth of the music you have listened to I do not see some of the most amazing music that I listen to on a regular basis and would have thought would have come up in recommendations but does not seem to have. Can I therefore offer some suggestions Muse ‘Knights of Cydonia’, Porcupine Tree ‘Arriving Somewhere but not here’, Steven Wilson, ‘Luminol’, London Grammar ‘Hell to the Liars’, Mostly Autumn ‘Viking Funeral’ and Dream Theater ‘ On the backs of angels’ This is not obscure stuff but for some reason it seems to be passing you by which is really sad. Hope you can find time in the schedule to check some of these out each one is the gateway to an extensive catalogue of amazing music.

Have asked Mike & Ginger to do Arriving Some Where But Not Here by Porcupine Tree on their last live stream, so here is hoping 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    • @scifimonkey3
      @scifimonkey3 3 ปีที่แล้ว

That would be excellent. There is so much music out there that I understand how difficult it must be for Mike and Ginger to decide which box of potential delights to open. However behind the lid marked Porcupine tree is a Steven Wilson universe packed full of bright stars. ( If they thought they struck gold with Tuomas Holopainen; and they did; then Steven Wilson is purest platinum).
