Hey, thanks a lot. Have you tried it in the higher positions of the guitar? When you move towards the 12th fret, the feel becomes completely different with the narrowing of the frets. All the best!
Thanks. I've been playing, mostly rock, jazz(fake), and fingerstyle for 62 years and I considered myself a quite competent musician. This exercise has disabused me of this notion!! I'm 74 and my fingers are a little arthritic, but I'm on day 2 of practicing this exercise and really (enjoying?) it. Thanks so much for posting this.
Hi Jerry, I'm glad this exercise challenged you a bit. Keep me posted on how it's going. I hope that it opens up some new technical possibilities with repertoire, song arrangements, chord shapes, etc.
@@piotrpakhomkin Sorry this is really cheeky of me but would you give one of my tunes a quick listen? The guitar starts at 1:09. If not no problem. Thanks again.th-cam.com/video/NRbYcVicbNU/w-d-xo.html
I focussed on the first two strings, then progressively incorporated more strings. This enabled more stability in chord work and, hopefully, speed as I get stronger. Magic strategy Piotr!
I'm really glad that the exercise helped you. If you want a personalized technical plan, you can do a little bit each day, feel free to reach out to me at www.musicourse.online/contact or message here on this channel. All the best!
Hi Taylor, I don't have this particular lesson notated. I can make a highly personalized practice routine for you to play. Send me a message if you're interested. All the best to you.
Thank you for this. How long would you recommend doing this? And is this exercise enough to cover most of the technical exercise. Trying on the ukulele. Any recommendations for getting better at barre?
I recommend no more than 3-5 minutes with this exercise or it‘s variations. Barre chords can be mastered with selective-barring technique, where you’re training the index finger to only press on the notes that need to resonate. A lot of players get into the habit to press on all 6 strings of a bar chord when they may only need strings 1 and 6.
Haha Stephen, it‘s certainly got the atonality of some of the modern pieces. I‘m happy you watched the video and I hope this exercise proves to be helpful for you.
Hi there Michelle - I agree that it's a hard exercise even on strings 321. I have such a wide range of people that watch these videos. I wanted to provide an exercise that can easily be modified for the players that may already be familiar with this pattern. How's the exercise going now for you?
Wow. That is a great exercise. Thanks!

@@piotrpakhomkin thanks so much for this lesson! Demanding, but rewarding as well.
Sounds like a modern classical guitar masterpiece😂
But for real : thanks for this!
