- Crowd sings "Breathe" to laryngitis-stricken Anna Nalick at The Linda in Albany, NY at her concert November 5th, 2015.
After coming out on stage and realizing halfway through the first song that her voice was too affected by laryngitis to sing, Anna sat down and resided over an amazing and intimate "Unplugged"-style Q&A session from the audience. Her answers were vulnerable and honest, revealing and insightful.
Toward the end of the session, I asked her, "What is the most magical place your music has ever taken you?" Anna gave an answer, and then another audience member asked if we could sing her song "Breathe" to her. After the song, Anna changed her answer to my question (at the 4:46 mark).
Despite Anna only being able to sing one song during her time onstage, this was without question the best concert I have ever attended.

That has to be the ultimate sense of validation for an artist. Your patrons not only admire and appreciate your work, but they've adopted it and absorbed it. Much appreciation for the thoughtful fans who cared enough to provide this gift. Well done!
"Ain't there one damn song that can make me break down and cry?" This one. Done this way. This one can. Gold star for all of you that sang (double gold to the harmonizing at the end).
These lyrics are simply beautiful poetry!
Also, kudos to whomever was brave enough to sing those high harmonies during the outro.
I wasn't there but I started singing with them and it felt so good.
I love-love-LOVE both videos of this experience. THANK YOU for posting it! It's so beautiful...and beautiful on so many levels.
