Just read "Prison Writings/My life, my sundance" by Leonard Peltier. He tells a lot about growing up a Native American in the last century. Doesnt differ that much from Anne's period of time. And probably doesnt differ that much from little Ka'kwet's story line.
My Mom and I were also upset about the Kakwet story line. However, the truth is that is exactly what happened to most if not all the native American children they took away from their parents. Many never saw there families again. A true historical tragedy. Just one of many topics exposed by Anne with an E. It is also a tragic loss that this show was cancelled. I so looked forward to the what happens to Anne and her friends in college.

And I think S3 was a bit anticlimactic, but I just comfort my aching heart that it's because they were orignally planning to make another season or two but CBC and Netflix had an issue that didn't get resolved resulting in us being deprived of proper closure to the different storylines presented to us. However, like Anne would always say, I guess it provides more scope for the imagination. BUT I STILL NEED SEASON 4 GODDAMNIT

I am a 57 year old man who normally would not consider watching a show like this but figured I would give it a shot. I just finished watching the last episode today and have to say, hands down, that this is quite possibly the best show I have ever seen. The show made me laugh and cry, and the acting was absolutely fantastic. The storylines were very well executed and gave me knowledge of my own country's history that I really didn't know much about. I am SO DISAPPOINTED that the show is no more as I would have watched it for another 10-20 years!!! C'mon Netflix and CBC, wakeup and smell the coffee...us fans need more of 'Anne with an E' !!!

turns out the reason they cancelled the show was because they believed that they were failing to gain viewership with older audiences (i think) between the ages of 30-50 but your comment seems to prove otherwise, i really hope they continue the show :(

I'm so glad Gilbert Blythe's character is different than the original. I never thought it made sense that he teased and bullied Anne mercilessly, and then she ended up marrying him! I think it's great they've made that subtle change, we should never teach girls that abuse is love. It didn't match Anne's progressive, strong feminist character marrying her school bully anyway IMO!
I'm not usually a fan of changing or abridging classics, but in this case it was necessary and a better fit. Also, everything else is spot on. Amybeth is the best young Anne I've seen. This series is so well done!!

tbh book gilbert is a bit more feminist than book anne, book anne was a conservative and while she initially challenged norms, she ended up upholding them to fit in to society. i think this series improved that part of anne and turned her into a more feminist and progressive individual.
If they’re not gonna do another season they could at least make a movie giving us an update on their new lives. Graduating from college, shirberts relation ship, kakwet and her family. All of it. There’s so much development we’re dying to see!

I think Kakwet story is so sad~ It seems to me like it ended the way it did because it was a bigger social issue than little Anne could solve and it was a growing moment for her to realize she wasn't going to be able to solve all problems that she came across in her life.
At the start Lucas says his favourite character is miss Stacy and then later he says that Sebastian is 🤣 clearly he just loves all of them

My 44 year old daughter and I, a 75 year old senior, watched it all. This is a show that has great appeal to all ages. The last episode brought us to tears. So happy for the characters but so sad it ended. Please bring it back for more seasons. It’s good clean entertainment!
I just watched this series now and I regret not seeing it sooner because it has instantly become my most favorite series EVER! It was so beautiful and heartbreaking and heartwarming. I would do anything to experience watching it again for the first time. 😭 I’m still in awe at how beautiful it is. The storyline, production, the perfect casting. Amybeth McNulty was just the most perfect Anne. They did so well in casting her. I read the book after watching (because I just loved it so much I couldn’t get over everything) and Anne’s description is so Amybeth. I couldn’t imagine a different Anne. Everything about this series is just perfect. It’s so seldom for me to have a series that I would get so attached to. This series is just.. ahh 😍😭 Also, I’ve been listening to Ahead By A Century for weeks now. Puts me in a good mood and makes me feel like I’m in Green Gables.

I don't really watch new shows anymore because every time a show is not continued it breaks my heart! I don't know what it was but I started the first episode out of a gut feeling and binged it through. I never saw a show so worthy of continuation. AWAE is my most favorite show ever, I just finished season three today and now I am upset that it will not be continued. I am truly sick to see awesome characters and storylines, that I learned to love, being abandoned, and here I am, crying in my bedroom, heartbroken again. It's a true crime that shows with weird storylines, just for the sake of ongoing lazy content, go on for seasons and seasons and this show, which was so amazingly written and executed, is canceled. Honestly I am devastated and I will not recover from that one! 😭

This show is PURE GOLD honestly it was easily in my top 3 favorite TV shows of all time.... Actually it's my favorite!! I laughed and cried and felt the love and fear but it still made me feel so hopeful and positive even after portraying hard subjects which is just so so powerful and it's what makes Anne With An E an absolute treasure.
Thats the perfect way to describe it!

Definitely one of the most tearjerking heartwarming stories I've ever seen. Can't help but love this little lovely redhead freckled girl. I was sold on the first episode long before it ended. I'm an old man 60 plus and must say I'm not happy to see it's all ended. The series covered a lot of territory, class, race and gender. And it was covered with great care and a living hand.
I adore Matthew and Merilla's characters. ❤ So saddened that there is not a season 4, 5, and 6.

The Indigenous plotline was so hard to watch, I knew about them previously so to see them go towards it with excitement was heartbreaking

I used to watch the Anne with an E cartoon series when I was a kid. I recently discovered this series on Netflix. Everything was so nostalgic and reminded me of the cartoon series. There were many differences and similarities between the two. But all I can say is, the story and series are absolute masterpieces. I love every little detail of it and can never stop thinking about it. This series was definitely one of the best Netflix series. So sad that there won't be a 4th season.

Yeh VICTORIAN corsets new corsets like the one they make today are not as comfortable because they aren’t made for one person they are made for more than one person plus Victorian corsets were made to be comfortable while you epweremwearing them
Well... Did you wear the original corset? And did you wear it from 16years old to whatever age you lived to? Or at least did you wear it from the moment you woke up, do you chores at home, maybe even fed the animals and put it down as a last thing before you went to sleep? If to any of these questions you can't answer YES, then please hold your opinion... Todays corset is something completely different and its worn as fasion statement more than everyday garment.
I've got a friend who had to wear corset for her spine to adjust to the right position 24/7 for 5 years and it was not pleasant at all...

Corsets were made for working class and upper vlass women so please do your research before saying a myth that was created by Victorian men who made fun of women's fashion because it was few things women could use to express themselves

The show drove me to the books, which are fantastic. The way the story unfolds on the show is wonderful and different from the books. And yes, please bring them all back for another season! Or 2!!
I miss this show already. I was heartbroken watching it end prematurely.
For the netflix producers who won't make season 4 "because the age range is under 24 years old". I AM 25 and watched ALL 3 seasons in 4 days!! Told my best friend and absolutely loved it(cried loads), told my mom got hooked, went to work all day and would come back home and sleep at 5am to watch more and more. I told a 26 year old guy and he is even watching it. THIS IS A FREAKING GOOD SHOW FOR ALL AGES. Stop making excuses.
