Thats so cool you guys saw the film early and great review makes me more excited to see it now and to see the legend sammo hung on the big screen in a martial arts film so excited!
This is one occasion where we can confidently say, be excited - it won't let you down. I just can't wait to hear from everyone after they've seen this awesome masterpiece 😉
More screenings were added so I got to see it yesterday and really liked it. Think the main plot point about the father/son was rushed in out of nowhere about 1/3 of the way through and could have been handled better as part of the flash backs earlier on, so it built up to when it was fully revealed. But still very enjoyable. Also liked the use of "Walking in the air" (the song from The Snowman) during the montage scene where the main character is getting used to living in the walled city! @@HongKongandBeyond
When you watched, did you hear a soundtrack that sounded like Enya's Carribbean Blue? I am thinking maybe they planned to release in Ireland and UK and hence used that music
@@HongKongandBeyond obviously, but with the movie not opening in North America until August, you know people would start watching webrips if you knowingly took your time to make it available to the masses.
Watched it on the big screen tonight. I was the only one in the cinema. 100 seat Cinema. Absolutely loved it! Pumped me up! Sammo with the fight scene also. The lead is great!
I was on the Chinese distributors mailing list for a while but seemed to have dropped off. The Chinese/Japanese/Korean cultural embassies have screenings in Australia too
Check out a few of Soi’s earlier films Dog Bite Dog and Horror Hotline Big Head Monster. The former was a big flop back in the day but I insisted back then that the guy was the most visceral HK filmmaker since Ringo Lam.
I actually helped out for the Hong Kong dvd release of Dog Bite Dog. Translated the audio commentary and special features. I believe work on Dog Bite Dog started around the same time as Jackie Chan's Rob-B-Hood.
We have a very close relationship with our good friends over @CineAsia and cover all of their wonderful releases pre-screening. Indeed, we are an exceptionally lucky couple 💖
The action director and stunt design all is done by kenji Tanigaki who is the only japanese member in donnie yen acrion Team who works him bunch of movies helped him as fight cherography close freind of donnie. and also Rurouni kenshin live action series which is on netflix he is also responsibility for all action director design for 5 parts of that .

@@HongKongandBeyond don’t get your expectations up b/c it’s a super low-budget film with mediocre story-line. Directors experimenting with different ways of film-making. But great cinametography, every frame is shot nicely, and emotional acting. Please let me know what shaz honestly thinks.:)
I give it 10/10 highly recommended!!!
Please bring back the golden days of HK movies I grow up with it..
❤ 🎉 from Singapore
Absolutely, this one deserves all the praise it's getting. Let's have more of the same, please! 🙏
The action director and stunt design Kenji TanigakiHe was also the action director of the Japanese jidaigeki action film Rurouni Kenshin

this movie was insane!!
Totally. It rocks! 💖
Just went to look for this at my local cinema. Only 4 screenings, all sold out! Hopefully they'll add some more next week
I'm sure they'll extend the screenings. It's a sure bet that this one is going to do a killing! 😉

I wanna see it it london but no cinemas have it listed yet
Keep checking the CineAsia link in the description. I'm sure times etc will be up soon 😉
The official cinema list is usually released on Monday of the week
@ventrisma6268 thank you Ventris 💖
Showing in 2 cinemas in Leicester Square
A big list of UK cinemas dropped during the week.

Great spot. We'll look out for that on our next viewing!
I just removed your other comment, in order to not spoil the movie for people who have yet to see it. 🙃
@@HongKongandBeyond oh or I should put out an alert. Then space down the rest of the details
@@SuccessforLifester no worries 😉
@@HongKongandBeyond already edited my comment. Should be safe for those who have not watched
Can't wait to see it :)
You're in for a real treat! 😉
Saw a webrip today since it went straight to streaming in China. And it was good. Can't wait to see it again on the big screen.
It looks great on the big screen 😍

Roll on Friday. Excellent review and now I have extremely high expectations for this movie!
I expect you'll love it every bit as much as we did 😉
I was trying to see it at Chinatown Cinema for old time's sake but it was on too late. Was great to see with an audience.
Tomorrow night at the cinema for us!

It's a shame you didn't have some company. We are both glad that you got to enjoy this on the big screen! Awesome 😉

Very cool film well designed and yet well written
@@HongKong.Shenzhen. totally agree 👍
Best movie in 2024! 👍👍👍
Unrivalled thus far! 😉
I’m in Los Angeles, can’t find this movie in local/Asian cinema here
Fingers crossed it'll get picked up. It should do. There hasn't been anything this good for a while. I hope you get to see it on the big screen 🙏
It has been licensed to WellGo USA for North American release.
@paulinehong827 that's great. The more people that get to see this one, the better! 😉
August 9th
I love Long Arm Of The Law and want to watch this because of its Kowloon setting.
That is a great film and 88films have a superb release of it 😉
@HongKongandBeyond Yeah I discovered that one and other HK flicks thanks to 88. Happy viewing!

Soi Cheang also directed the Monkey King movies but I won't hold that against him 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm pretty sure Shaz mentioned that. If I remember correctly? 😉
