To become a VFX compositor we should start with Roto then senior Roto artist. Then Paint to senior paint. Next, we can jump into junior, mid and senior compositor gradually and finally Supervisor.
no need to go senior level in rotoscopy to become a comp.. you can go by paint after 6 months of rotoscopy and after you get exp in paint prep. then you can try as comp artist. wish you all the best.. by the way I'm prep artist at MPC trying for comp

Nothing is bad it's a good and it's a foundation if you want to become a compositor because as a roto artist you will make a good eye attention to detail and patience
