Luca Badoer, driving the 2009 Ferrari is totally not representative of his skills. Firstly, he hadn't raced in 10 years at that point. Secondly, the 2009 Ferrari was Ferrari's first KERS equipped car and it was a dog to drive. Neither Kimi nor Massa could do much with it except of the occasional track where it was manageable. After they replaced Luca with highly respected driver Fisichella, neither he could do much with the car, finishing 11th as his best position. He came over from FI, having even scored pole that year on the Belgian GP. This shows that Kimi and Massa had learned to drive that POS car in pre-season and managed it. Stepping in proved to be impossible for both Luca and Fisichella. Whenever I see Luca on the worst F1 driver list just proves to me that the creator of said list is just regurgitating some other clueless lists.
Badoer was running 4th in the 1999 European GP in a Minardi until his Electrics & hydraulics failed. Your looking in the wrong era, In F1 over the decades the Talent has improved the worst drivers on the grid today would have won Races in the 50s & 60s because the talent pool was so wide Mostly the talent was among Rich aristocrats who wanted to play regardless of how fast they were.
Taki Inoue gets my vote, him getting run over by the medical car is one of F1's most memorable bizarre/comedy moments ever. And as for his twitter posts... eccentric is an understatement.
Brian Glennon "At Imola, Ide caused a first lap crash with Christijan Albers that put the Dutchman into a series of rolls which ended with Albers's car upside down" we were both partly wrong Franck Montangy replaced him
I remember Yuji Ide. He entered four GPs for Super Aguri (remember them?). The Super Aguri was the worst car on the grid by a country mile, but that didn't explain why he was 3 seconds behind team-mate Sato in Q1 in Bahrain, his first race. If the 107% rule has been around, he would never have started. His final race, at the last ever San Marino GP, was legend. He tipped Christian Albers into a barrel roll on lap one, and that was career over.
Some people are saying Grosjean and Maldonado...wtf? Maldonado has won a race and Grosjean has had many podiums. Worst F1 driver was probably Taki Inoue, although Pedro Chaves is up there.
What about Adrián Campos? He had a very poor background as a driver in Formula 3000 before joining Minardi Team in 1988, but his uncle, a very wealthy man had contact with the Lois Jeans brand. It gave sponsorship which let him to join Minardi. A racing fan those days explained me that other drivers overtake him very carefully because Campos sometimes did not had idea faster cars were passing him, even when blue flags were shown. He retired in all races of 1988 excepting one; the Spanish Grand Prix; the ironically branded "Motori Moderni" turbo engines always failed, and for the Jerez race the turbo pressure was adjusted to minumum to resist the full race and see, once, the car behind the checkered flag. In the beginning of the 1989 season (with no turbos allowed and naturally aspirated engines) there were more cars and drivers than places in the grid. Campos never qualified and was replaced by an italian driver.
1) Taki Inoue 2) Yudi Ide 3) Kazuiki Nakajima 4) Narain Karthikeyan 5) Luca Baeodor 6) Pedro de la Rosa 7) Sakon Yamamoto 8) Neel Jani 9) Alexander Wurz 10) Alexander Rossi
i think many of these drivers that can be described as the worst would have been in slow cars, like minardi, super aguri. the fact that badoer has never scored a point, then in 2009 got the breakthrough in ferrari. his first race he sped in the pitlane in practice, caused mayhem in the race, got a drive through penalty for crossing white line, and hit a stationary car in parc ferme..... his 2nd race in belgium caused mayhem again, got passed by everyone and was last again.... the fact that he had the chance to put that 20years and no points behind him and he blew it
I got a load of them, Gaston mazzacarne, Gianmaria Bruni as mentioned, Patrick Friesacher, Tarso Marques, Alex Young, Ricardo Rosset, Toranosuke Takagi, Esteban Tuero, Scott Speed and Luciano Burti
Michael Andretti was pretty poor in the Mclaren in 1993. He'd been successful in Indycar, moved to F1 and for what ever reason it just didn't happen. Think he ended up with 7 points. Didn't help being compared to his team mate Ayrton Senna probably.
Have to suggest Riccardo Rosset, had a decent younger career but was comically bad in the Tyrrell in 1998. As for pay drivers, they've been around a lot longer than Yuji Ide, ones that spring to mind be Alex Yoong, Gaston Mazzacane (pretty much anyone who drove for Minardi towards the end of their exsistance apart from Alonso, Webber, Davidson and Justin Wilson). There's probably examples of guys with less talent but more money get race seats all the way through F1 history in some way or other.
Jean-Deniz Deletraz, Larousse-94 and Pacific-95, he was the typical pay driver, brought money, he was just incompetent in almost every aspect of F1 but he did have 2 class wins in Le-mans and Ide lost his super licence after he took out a Midland in Imola 06
I'm trying to remember who it was... Piquae and Patrase? Nelson Piquae was going to lap some mid fielder in about '82 or '83, and the backmarker wrong-footed him and had them both off in the gravel, so Piquae gave him a couple of jabs around the head while they still both had helmets on... I suspect it was Patrase. Or Sandro Corteze or someone... I remember the incident.
Lol, why do they say Vettel? I think he is very good driver... OK he's got a very good car too but look how he is connected with that cars. And when you don't like when he wins it doesn't mean that he is a bad driver..
I'd say Yuji Ide was worst F1 driver of modern times. Also Max Chilton is slow because of his car if he were in a Sauber or a Force India I think he'd be battling with The mid pack for a point or 2
Yuji Ide was far from the first pay driver (both Senna and Schumacher) were pay drivers, and he had his superlicense revoked for being a dangerous driver
Yuji Ide one of the first pay drivers? I'm sorry, but Formula One has always had drivers buying their seats. In the good old days, some purchased Formula 1 cars and entered them privately.
Alex yoong? Also do series maybe like a most unfortunate or like most underrated like chris Amon who spent 14 years in f1 and never got a win mainly due to mechanical failures
Luca Badoer, (Look-how-bad-you-are) Is certainly a good candidate, but in 2009 even Raikkonnen was finding that car difficult to drive. Dont also forget he hadnt raced in an f1 GP since 99 or 2000 or something of that nature. In that time he did a reasonable job against other mediocre drivers. Personally its either Alexander Yoong, or Toransue Takagi who are the worst. They would crash by them selves and did not really deserve a spot in f1. Yoong is notable as a famously bad pay driver, as he drove for Minardi who where heavily sponsored by Malaysian companies.. who wanted a Malaysian driving for them...
I thought Michael Andretti would have done better than he did. Great Indycar driver, son of a Legend Mario Andretti who was an F1 world champion. Michael got a great ride with Mclaren but couldn't do anything with it.
Come on mate you can't put Badoer in here, that's a disgrace. When guys like Lavaggi, Amati and Schiattarella aren't mentioned then that says a lot. Luca did some really strong performances for Scuderia Italia and Minardi but when you're down there in cars 4sec a lap slower I guess people don't really notice. In 2009 at Valencia, Badoer made a great start only to be taken out by Grosjean of all people. Also at Spa he did a first sector faster than Kimi in qualifying but made a mistake at Les Combes ruining his Q1 lap. Nissany sort of counts but only did free practice. Ide is probably up (or down) there just for the fact he was sacked after 4 races. To be fair Inoue did finish in the top 10 twice, so probably doesn't quite end up as the worst. My vote was for Al Pease - the only man to ever be disqualified from an F1 race for being too slow!
Jean-Deniz Deletraz is the worst in my opinion. Giovanni Lavaggi also deserves a spot. They both did not perform in F1 or any serious formula class. Of course I acknowledge that they are still much better than I am (or any other non professional racing driver). Guys like Badoer and Rosset peformed well in F3000 which is a very high level of motor racing. Alex Yoong in A1GP. I don't think they belong in the worst F1 driver list. Especially Luca Badoer (there were 10 years of non f1 racing between 1999 and 2009).
After the way he rushed to Alonso's aid after the 2 crashed at Australia? this year, I will ALWAYS be a fan. The late James Hunt was also know for such actions.
well he did win in Spain in a Williams against Fernando Alonso in a Ferrari so I don't think Maldonado is the worst driver or all time, but he's horribly inconsistent and probably among the worst F1 driver currently racing, but that's just me

Well you have to compare people roughly within their eras otherwise it just becomes a ridiculous exercise in apples and oranges.
surely richard hammond has to be down there
As much as I love Japanese F1 drivers, Yuji Ide has to be the worst. Only driver I've known who was so awful he had his super licence revoked.
Taki Inoue gets my vote, him getting run over by the medical car is one of F1's most memorable bizarre/comedy moments ever. And as for his twitter posts... eccentric is an understatement.
Bernie Ecclstone entered two f1 races in 1958 but failed to qualify for either.
Thanks for all the comments here, I appreciate it! More videos like this?
I vote Lewis Hamilton. Mainly top balance out the noobs saying Maldonado, Grosjean and Karthikeyan who were/are all fantastic drivers.
Ide is by far the worst he crashed all the time and sent Chrisjian Albers into a barrel roll at Imola
Brian Glennon it was Barcelona, not Imola
Kathryn Ashworth no it was imola. Franck Montagany was in the car at Spain.
Brian Glennon "At Imola, Ide caused a first lap crash with Christijan Albers that put the Dutchman into a series of rolls which ended with Albers's car upside down" we were both partly wrong Franck Montangy replaced him
Kathryn Ashworth yeah your quoting exactly what I said in the first Comment so I was right to begin with.
I cant seems to reply to people unless you have a Google Plus account :( Be sure to connect your account to leave comments etc! :)

Seems more suited for a radio broadcast than a TH-cam video.
1) Taki Inoue
2) Yudi Ide
3) Kazuiki Nakajima
4) Narain Karthikeyan
5) Luca Baeodor
6) Pedro de la Rosa
7) Sakon Yamamoto
8) Neel Jani
9) Alexander Wurz
10) Alexander Rossi
Wurz got a podium in Williams and we was good in Benetton, I don't think he should be in the list
i think many of these drivers that can be described as the worst would have been in slow cars, like minardi, super aguri. the fact that badoer has never scored a point, then in 2009 got the breakthrough in ferrari. his first race he sped in the pitlane in practice, caused mayhem in the race, got a drive through penalty for crossing white line, and hit a stationary car in parc ferme..... his 2nd race in belgium caused mayhem again, got passed by everyone and was last again.... the fact that he had the chance to put that 20years and no points behind him and he blew it
Whats the name on that Race track?
Monza, Italian GP
Al Pease (1970s i believe), the only F1 driver to be DQ'ed for going too slow in a grand prix.
I think Nathan Avie is the worst F1 driver
I got a load of them, Gaston mazzacarne, Gianmaria Bruni as mentioned, Patrick Friesacher, Tarso Marques, Alex Young, Ricardo Rosset, Toranosuke Takagi, Esteban Tuero, Scott Speed and Luciano Burti
Michael Andretti was pretty poor in the Mclaren in 1993. He'd been successful in Indycar, moved to F1 and for what ever reason it just didn't happen. Think he ended up with 7 points. Didn't help being compared to his team mate Ayrton Senna probably.
Maldonado
#caseclosed #nofurtherdiscussionneeded
Nakajima
Sorry to ruin it
Ricardo Rosset was absolutely horrible
How about Jean-Denis Deletraz, Riccardo Rosset, Philippe Adams, Gaston Mazzacane and Al Pease? You can find them all on F1Rejects. ;)
Why is Vettel not on this list?
I'm gonna say Narain Karthikeyan
Cucumber, definetly.
Alex really like this :) can you do series of vids which say the greatest f1 driver , best team worst team ever ! :)))
Salazar?
MassiveNoob Maybe... I know they used one second of footage (punch being thrown) in F1 promo clips here in Australia for the next 15 ~ 20 years!
One is Pastor Maldaordo. Well however you spell his name.
Maldonado actually isn't that bad of a driver if you ask me.
paul di resta beat vettel in F3 when they were in the same team that shows how talented he is compared to him.
Lol, why do they say Vettel? I think he is very good driver... OK he's got a very good car too but look how he is connected with that cars. And when you don't like when he wins it doesn't mean that he is a bad driver..
Alex Yoong, in the minardi, he was afwul
I'd say Yuji Ide was worst F1 driver of modern times. Also Max Chilton is slow because of his car if he were in a Sauber or a Force India I think he'd be battling with The mid pack for a point or 2
pastor maldonado
Lol I thought someone would say that
Lol
+Fabi HD he won in spain...
TheExploding Emerald i know
he won one race but hes crashed more times than what many drivers crashed in 6 seasons
Yuji Ide was far from the first pay driver (both Senna and Schumacher) were pay drivers, and he had his superlicense revoked for being a dangerous driver
Ricardo Rossett he failed a number of time to qualify past the107% rule and when he did qualify he was stone last
I think Yuji Ide. He couldn't even speak English! He was revoked of his superlicense due to crashing into Albers in San Marino 2006.
Worst Driver of all time: NathanAvie
Al Pease: British Driver who was DSQ for being too slow but very slow in the rainy 1976 Canadian Grand Prix.
Yuji Ide
Gaston Mazzacane
That Aryton Senna guy sucked! I mean he drove into a wall and died!
I've set the bait, now we wait heh heh.
And of course, Senna was a legend.
Piercarlo Ghinzani, Alan Berg - two Osella drivers spring to mind
Yuji Ide one of the first pay drivers? I'm sorry, but Formula One has always had drivers buying their seats. In the good old days, some purchased Formula 1 cars and entered them privately.
Alex yoong? Also do series maybe like a most unfortunate or like most underrated like chris Amon who spent 14 years in f1 and never got a win mainly due to mechanical failures
Who was No.1?
The Gear Knob z
never seen u drive like this good in any other video >>>>>>>>>>first lap was a champion stuff

Luca Badoer was maybe a bad driver but he is the worst Ferrari driver of all time
Yuji Ide is for sure the worst driver of all time

nico rosberg

My list
1. Yuji ide
2. Karthykayen
3. Haryanto (I'm Indonesian and I never supported him)
4. Yuji ide
Seems you think Yuji Ide to be worse than himself ;)
hejamodo idk what I was thinking of at the time maybe I'm drunk
You put him at 1 and 4, but he was so bad he could full the entire top 10. Only driver I know that actually had his super license revoked. Cheers ;)
ma karthikeyan en pastor maldonado
Gaston Mazzacane, Alex Yoong
Gaston was in a bad car, so he should be excluded from the list.
Lol at whoever said Ralph Firman. Yeah he wasn't amazing but he scored a point. That alone means he doesn't belong in the discussion.
That Nissany guy has a son who races in Euro F3
Patrick Friesacher wasn't the greatest of drivers, nor was Robert Doornbos
Never forget... Ricardo Rosset xD
I'm starting to think many of u don't kno what formula 1 is saying Maldonado and Grosean r some of the worst ever!! WTF
Pastor Maldonado?!
Currently probably : Paster Maldanado, Romain Grosjean, Giedo Van der Garde
All Time: Luca Badoer, Ide and Nissany
+Alex Marr
Grosjean? Why don't you go drive his car and finish on the podium.
I am not saying he is not fast, its just that he is not that consistant and last season he was lucky to get past lap 10
Michael Andretti was a shocker in F1
Riccardo (I can't even recover from a spin with a spin-turn) Rossett. Yes. Or Gaston Mazzacane.
The mobile chicane... Karthikeyan...
Esteban Guiterez
After the way he rushed to Alonso's aid after the 2 crashed at Australia? this year, I will ALWAYS be a fan. The late James Hunt was also know for such actions.

Vitaly Petrov in real life, me in game.
F3000 is what we know now as GP2
Yamamoto, Ide, Japan's had some really bad drivers, along with good ones with Sato and KK, but yeah I think Ide.
Andrea de Cesaris (aka de CRASHarias)
Gunna have to be Maldonardo
well he did win in Spain in a Williams against Fernando Alonso in a Ferrari so I don't think Maldonado is the worst driver or all time, but he's horribly inconsistent and probably among the worst F1 driver currently racing, but that's just me
He is an ok driver now apart from Bahrain
Riccardo Rosset in my opinion
Vettel isnt the worst driver hes just not a good driver and webber lets him past so he can win championships
richerd hammod jks probably scot speed
Vettel is one of the best...
Sebastian vettel worse driver ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Christian Albers is also pretty bad
How about Juan Pablo Montoya?
