Great editing Dave. The real highlight for me personally is the gradient mask, I didn't know you could use it like that. Thanks!

Not sure what you mean by "happy accident"!
All my IR images have the brown skies by design. It is achieved by setting the correct white balance for your scene and the choice of IR filter. The brown skies are influenced by the + or - exposure you give, from subtle to the example you used. The combo used to give you the brown look has the advantage of changing some of the white areas into other surreal colours by using the colour mixer. Loads of info on utube.
PS. Love Bob Ross as well.
Learnt a lot from this tutorial that I can use on my IR images. Thank

Neat use of the gradient tool. Will be using those techniques. Thanks!

Thanks Dave, I think that IR means B&W is a common belief but I think there is a lot more potential than that. Blake Rudis and Tonee Gee have developed a great course/product (Clir) that shows what can be done particularly for someone with your artistic ability. Worth a look

Love it Dave! Thank you! The way you isolated the trees on top was money!

I've been experimenting with the Magic Mixer, both in color and in B&W, and it really is an amazing tool! Thank you for your tutorials, Dave. This one is awesome.

Generally but not always in black and white. 720nm IR looks great when you swap channels.

This is an excellent tutorial. You definitely put TK9 to a test. A fantastic edit with great results. As you said, maybe an infrared camera is a good idea. Thank you.

These videos are so instructive! But are they catalogued somewhere-I need a basic start at step one review. And finally; what does “IF” stand for as in “bled IF’? I for longest time thought you were saying “blen diff!’ Thanks from an old f*rt.

Thanks Dave for selecting my image. Your edit came out much better than mine, plus I learned quite a few more tricks, especially using the magic mixer. It really is like magic.

Thanks Steve for sharing your image with the TK Audience and allowing me to edit it. I had a lot of fun with the whole editing process. I've never processed an infrared image before, so this was a a real challenge for me. I need to do some research into infrared photography and learn all I can about it. It opens up a whole new creative opportunity.

is this 680nm filter or converted camera? since some yellow coming through, I guess the wavelength is less than 700nm

nice tuto. which camera and filter were used ? raw ? I shoot in supercolor lifepixel filter and the difficulty is to start with a good white balance with orange sky and blue trees. LRC and ACR cannot make WB below 2K so we need to use adobe dng editor to make a profile for our camera and load it into LRC. I stopped doing that and purchased CLIR from Tonee Gee with several great channel swap.

The camera was an Olympus PenF converted to 665nm by Life Pixel. Lens was the 8-25 at 11mm and f4.0.
