Great video, as a fan of a fellow depressing club in the Adelaide Crows I can certainly name my top 20 worst games attended too. Been going to games for about 20 years now, started going hardcore week in week out from about 2012 onwards, before then usually 5-6 games a year as I lived in the country and was too young to travel alone. After a lot of deep thinking, here is mine: 20 - Adelaide v GWS, 2023. Season on the line, heartbreaking last quarter demise. Very depressing train ride home. 19 - Adelaide v Essendon, 2011. We led by about 7 goals at half time, in a season that was already limited in giving me any joy, this was a game I thought we had won. Then they came back and won by about 2 goals. The toxicity of the crowd that night is a core memory, ended up being Craig’s last home game as coach. 18 - Adelaide v Richmond, 2014. A must win game to keep our season alive, we almost had them beat and then they kicked 2 goals in the last 2 or 3 minutes of the game to win by a few goals. Anger doesn’t begin to describe it. 17 - Melbourne v Adelaide, 2010 (MCG). One of the worst games of football you could ever wish to travel for, even more so on my 15th birthday. Led all day, low scoring snooze fest. Melbourne won by 2 goals, was hardly anyone there but the unbearable crowd reaction at the end ruined my trip. First interstate loss I ever witnessed. 16 - Adelaide v Collingwood, 2018. Still to this day the earliest I’ve ever left an AFL game. 5 minutes into the second quarter, 6 goals down, driving rain. Went to grab a feed on O’Connell St before half time with the intention of returning for the second half. I never did. The expectations for that year were high, this was a soul crushing loss. 15 - Adelaide v Sydney, 2023. The Ben Keays ghost goal game. In all honesty it’s the only one of the list where the Crows didn’t actually piss me off, even though we were 8 goals down. The aftermath of what occurred still irritates me today. 14 - Adelaide v Essendon, 2007. The earliest game of this list. Entered the season as a genuine flag favourite after 2 very unlucky seasons of falling short in back to back prelims, we started the year with a seemingly certain victory against an Essendon side who won 3 games the year prior. I’ve never gone to a game so certain of a win before which we would end up losing. One of many Crows games from my childhood that ensured a lifetime of trauma. 13 - Adelaide v West Coast, 2014. An absolute shootout in a must win game, Eagles dominated the last quarter and knocked us out of the 8. Sheer utter anger leaving the stadium that day. 12 - North Melbourne v Adelaide, 2019. One of the worst birthdays of my life, one of the worst games of football anyone will ever watch. No explanation needed. 11 - Adelaide v Collingwood, 2023. 1 point heartbreaking loss. It was the first time in about 4 years I actually felt that dejected over a loss. Probably the turning point in how much I care about the Crows these days, 2020-22 felt like nothing seasons to be honest. This game restored the emotional aspect to losing games of football, can safely say I didn’t miss that feeling. 10 - Adelaide v Sydney, 2012 QF. The only final that makes this list, wasn’t able to secure a ticket to the 2017 GF, but even then I don’t think that would’ve made the list contrary to belief. This was a game I felt very confident in winning, and then we got belted. Huge crowd, huge hype. One of the longest bus trips home ever. 9 - Adelaide v Melbourne, 2014. The second most embarrassing loss at home I’ve ever been to. No words to describe the anger of losing to one of the worst ever AFL teams of that era. 8 - Port v Adelaide, 2013. The away showdown that year. To choke a 7 goal lead in any game is depressing, in a showdown it’s just so much worse. Felt more numb than angry that day, but sitting in the bay across from the very loud Port cheersquad certainly rubbed salt into the wounds. 7 - Adelaide v Port, 2019. Utterly embarrassing performance in our biggest fixture of the year. Just felt so miserable being there. 6 - North Melbourne v Adelaide, 2017 (Hobart) My word, I still need therapy from that day. The absolute hands down worst first quarter of football I’ve ever seen. Ever. Ruined a very enjoyable day in Tassie. 5 - Adelaide v GWS, 2018. The loss that signalled the end of a very good era for the club. Felt like I had lost a family member that day, it was a truly gutting defeat where you just knew the club was cooked and were no longer a flag contender. Still haven’t recovered really. 4 - Adelaide v Richmond, 2024. No explanation needed. 3 - Port v Adelaide, 2018. Die Steven Motlop. 2 - Adelaide v West Coast, 2016. Easily the worst game at Adelaide Oval I’ve ever been to, very unlikely I will feel such a level of anger, disappointment and sadness all in one like that again. Had the chance to finish a great season in the top 2, and then we ended up missing the top 4 all together which affectively ended our season. Won a huge multi that weekend at least. 1 - Adelaide v Port, 2013. The last ever showdown at AAMI. No other game in Crows history gave me long term depression like that one did. The most devastating loss I’ve ever experienced and the worst showdown loss I will likely ever experience unless we lose to them like that in a final or something. Worst day of my life.
I remember going to round 1 2019 against the Cats. Collingwood were in the lead for most of the game and eventually got overrun. I remember a cats fan giving it to me and I walked off in disgust, lost my way back to the hotel and the night ended there. However I saw a ripping game against the Saints vs Suns which ended up being a total of 1 point at the end which was great.
I went to this game at UTAS in 2014, it was the hawks vs suns I believe, I remember it pouring down and Hawks won by around 50 points which i hoped the suns won despite being a pies supporter. But it was amazing to see hawthorn score heavy in the wet.
My top 5 (port) 1: port vs bulldogs prelim (I left before 3 quarter time as it was so hard to watch and me being extremely pissed off) 2: port vs gold coast 2011 (at school I got bullied so badly cause we loss) 3: port vs. Brisbane 2024 (07 retro more like) 4: crows vs port 2022 (I was crying after the game) 5: collingwood vs port 2023 (my 1st mcg game that turned into a disaster)

You were a far better supporter to talk to cardman that's for sure lol. 1:10 I remember checking the live scores constantly for this one during a stay in canberra and I reckon that was one of the more devistated reactions I've had to a game :( 1:45 I got absolutely RINSED that day by my hawks supporter mates and even his dad who worked at the ground... Horrible choke. That higgins error late in the game = nightmares. We were so lucky to even play finals. I was sure we were done after that one. 2:20 I was randomly featured in the tv commercial which advertised that game on network ten lol. Ironically they used footage of me from my favourite game I've ever been to: Rd 2 2010 where we led north 60-0. And yeh, needless to say the kids at school were heaping shit on me even more after we lost that monday night rd 7 one hahahaha. 11:04 I ran to my room crying when the siren went hahahha absolutely painful to this day. Hawkins point, missed oppertunities in the 2nd quarter (DO NOT REWATCH THEM it's some of the biggest choking you'll ever see in a GF)... :( and the poop cherry on top was that gram was equal with chapman in norm smith voting and lost on a countback... that will be retrospectively given one day though I'm pretty sure. 13:23 hahahhahahaha f**k that 13:57 how did I know this would be number 1.... this is the worst loss I have ever seen too. I was in the MCC members LOUNGE for the only time ever as a guest of an MCC full member hawks fan. And because I was my mate and his dad's guest, they decided they had the right to absolutely shit on me every time hawthorn kicked a goal.... *they kicked one every 2 minutes* absolutely WITHOUT FAIL my worst ever experience at the football. Like you, I stayed til the end. Pure pain. And I was with bandwagoner hawks fans as well hahaha they have definately recently only just started supporting their team for the first time since 2015. Honestly, in my opinion that is st kilda's darkest day in their entire history, And that's bloody saying something... :(
As a North Melbourne fan. My worst game that I’ve attended was Round 8 last year in 2023 North Melbourne vs St Kilda. Could not kick a single goal in the 1st half which really pissed me off so much.
It’s bloody tough being a saints fan. That Spuds game against the Bombers I couldn’t believe that the boys showed absolutely 0 heart and was absolutely horrific to watch. But that game in 2021 against the Bombers was one of the most diabolical performances I have ever seen. I have never been so disgusted watching a game on my life. I atleast enjoyed watching the vid because I could at the very least relate to what you were saying 😂 Also completely forgot about Rooeys 300th. Just sad tbh
Worst losses for my beloved Eagles I went too was the 2015 grand final which made me cry as a 9 year old Round 16 2024 against Hawthorn. I am an eagles supporter, I don’t go to many games but the worst I’ve watched is the 205-34 Sydney game last year, the worst I’ve been to was the 60+ point hawthorn game vs eagles game this year.
