The ANC followers and others must not think that things will stay as it's now, when they again vote for the corrupt ANC. Things are better because of DA, IFP and PA.

Once again David, you are spot on about SADC issues which should over ride international issues like Gaza and Ukraine.
    However, Slava Ukraini 🤙

The DA doesn't even have control over the finance ministry, neither judiciary, labor, defense, police, foreign relations or anything of major significance in these areas. It's perplexing how they've just been coopted into this current administration with minimal portfolios and then to continue implementing ANC policy, if there's no real policy framework adjustment that takes place there's going to be a reckoning in the next elections.

The DA need to find a Way of showing us the voters that they are not working for the ANC. But are still very much an independent party working for the South African citizens. Where the ANC go against what's being agreed on by the GNU they must not make threats of walking out and then give in. They must walk out. They must realize the ANC get advice from China and Russia and this is something not to take lightly - look how they have managed to dismantle the MK party and the EFF - a long and brilliant game they played. The DA shouldn't have gone running into joining a call for GNU by the ANC to start with - the ANC was and is still more frightened by a coalition with MK or EFF than the DA understood. The DA rushed in and basically saved the ANC from being swallowed by these two parties if it had formed a coalition with them. Most voters know by now that what the DA touches turns to gold as far as service delivery is concerned. Its involvement with the GNU could distorted this amazing image reducing it into nothing but an appendage of the corrupt ANC among many things in the eyes of voters - a loyal servant that has also help to miraculously revive the ANC.

Sound advise from Mr Coltart. Zim has got brainers but the leadership is selfish. They don't listen. Hopefully DA will take this advise into consideration.

Weve let these mp,s & officials get away from their jobs, they should serve the office, instead they get such an inflated self impression of grandeur, they elevate themselves from servant of the people to supreme rulers, occupying a lucrative bubble of self enrichment.

  • @greenfield6788

They deliver they make the ANC look good in the eyes of its once despairing voters who are now slowly coming rushing its arms - DA voters on the other hand feel their party had become lame as those with positions run around doing the jobs the ANC was too incompetent to do. It is subtle but powerful smart move by the ANC. Come the next general election we will see the the once rock-solid, hope inspiring and ever growing DA shrink into a little mouse with a twitchy nose all its political mojo evaporated. Here come back will be almost impossible.

Clearly there is a playbook for how a party in decline can regevonate. What the ANC is doing with the DA is exactly what Mugabe did with his "partners" (opponents) in the GNU. DA has to wake up to this very quickly. ANC is playing chess, while the other parties in the GNU are playing checkers.

That's a lot of ifs as regards the GNU. Most are beyond the DAs control. Tendai Biti wisely wanted to stay out of the GNU but Morgan pushed it to the detriment of the opposition.

One good example was Minister of Transport Mac Maharaj who refused a State issued official vehicle. He used his own VW Jetta. A true communist not a fake communist!

Valuable advice ….. however being 2% better than MDC will result in a Zimbabwe situation. Coltart is speaking from a failed state with no currency and mass unemployment and poverty. He is a politician sitting on the top of a pile of shit. So the thing is not to be better than him but to do things differently. Aware of his good and critical warning of being co opted in a failing ideology.
The DA is the MDC and the MDC no longer exists and that is a stark warning. Generally DA voters are the bloody hell in with the DA except maybe in Capetown …… for now. Also David makes a very valuable point he wants the DA to help in Zimbabwe via SADC. Good point. What has the DA done to back channel opposition to the failed states in Zimbabwe and Mozambique? Absolutely nothing it would appear.

Do you think the fact that the DA is clear on siding with the US might help with staying in Agoa and even influence America to try and bring some pressure on the anc regarding race discrimination laws etc? Especially with Trump in charge now. He does take things like this into account. Who knows maybe the US will even help with a little regime change as they always do?
They helped somewhat in getting rid of the apartheid government through sanctions and pressure etc.

The fundamental difference is the race issue we conviniently avoid .inkata historically viewed as white puppet and da can never expect to get any resonable support from soweto even if the da brings orania standards to soweto

What is the solution? When are the people going to put upset aside, in favour of saving themselves? Because the behaviour of the comrades is kind of proving why they could not be trusted with power. Now only the people can change the situation.

Failure to list everything on the stock market, that's the mistake every single political party on earth repeats again and again and again and again .... never learning anything new about history, economics and how the stock market and economy really works. The first stock market was created in 1602 The Amsterdam stock exchange made The VOC became the world's most valuable company.
