I can’t imagine how people can’t not feel or imagine the scene of theses babies being slaughtered and virtually being blown apart buy military styles weapons and not hear the voices of desperation of these innocents calling out to their mommies and daddies. Mommy, daddy help me make this stop. How in the name of God the almighty can’t we respond to this type of preventable catastrophe. The republicans are on the side of the NRA and the money they give their party. I would give my own life instantly to stop this senseless catastrophe. What is wrong with our society are we really that callous to not value the lives of out future, our precious children? There is only one party that is stoping major gun control , it has nothing to do with the right to own guns. Military weapons and weapons of mass killing has no place in our society. Why oh why does one party in our political system demand, virtually demand more children die. Mental health here in the states is no more prevalent than that in other countries. We have politicians here in America that advocate their will on the public that does not agree. But it’s not their children that are being slaughtered. People in the name of all that is holly do something. The political don’t care, can’t you understand they don’t care. GOD SAVETHE CHILDREN

@@thisisgettingold What is getting old is acting like all this carnage is The Lord Gods fault. We all get bitter, resentful, angry, hurt, and downright question “Why Lord?”’ when going through unimaginable pain and difficulties. He is a Good God, a loving God, and many times we do not understand how these things can happen, but please refrain yourself from typing out “monster” or “disgusting”. We all have faults and are guilty of many things, but He is Good, He is The Lord, He is The Way, The Truth, and The Life. All of Jesus’ followers were even murdered gruesome deaths for their faith. @@idontevenknowanymore111 This isn't an action movie. Shooting locks off is very dangerous and you need a very high powered weapon. Which means lots and lots of Shrapnel flying into the intruders face and body. There's a Mythbusters episode about shooting locks "Off". I highly advice you to watch it.

When I was 8, my friends and I were riding our bikes and as we rode up to the self service car wash, this guy came from the trunk of his car racking a pump shotgun with a round. He aimed the shotgun at his screaming wife and pulled the trigger. He racked another round and fired again. We were frozen there on our bikes, mouths open, just trying to process what we had just seen. He looked each one of us in the eyes, and walked to the trunk and threw the shotgun in and slammed the lid. He came back to the drivers' side of his car, sat down and just stared out of the windshield for a few minutes. There were sirens approaching in the distance, and he was suddenly holding a .357 revolver. As the ambulance, and police arrived, he placed the revolver to his head and pulled the trigger. Time was distorted. It seemed we had been frozen in the same position for about a week, but in fact this all occurred in about a 12 minute time span. None of us said a word until the police approached us and seemed to break the spell we were under.
GREAT JOB to the mother for having such safe and open conversations with her children, as well as for seeking long term therapy for her son. I was in a motorcycle wreck where a motorcycle landed on top of me…out of the blue causing so many injuries. I never saw it coming. I had PTSD so bad. I was afraid to leave my house because I thought something would come out of the air and hurt me again. I cannot imagine how these survivors will not have issues, considering this terror went on for so long. Mine was in an instant and I’m an adult. This wasn’t an accident or unintentional. To think someone intentionally hurt these folks is simply horrific. I wish there was some way I could help them deal with this tragedy, but hopefully time will help lessen the fear and pain.
I hope by telling their stories, as horrific as they are, it helps them on the road to somehow healing. Gun Free Zones mandated by federal law get children killed My wife carries multiple firearms in defense of human lives everyday at work, including an AR 15. It's literally her profession, a skill for which she is paid, like the men and women who protected Barak Obama's kids while he was crying on TV over kids who died at Sandy Hook. There used to be a statistic that medical errors were the third leading cause of death in the US. A more recent statistic stated that Covid was the third leading cause of death in the US, which still means that medical errors are at least the third leading cause of death in the US if Covid leaked from a lab Do doctors and medical personnel kill more people than hammers, which kill more people than guns? Which is weird that Barack Obama mocked people for refusing to let the CDC study gun violence when statistics seem to show that the medical profession is more dangerous than guns. UK police admitted that without firearms they are defenseless against Jihadi knife attacks
This youngster's blank face and eyes says it all. He has a wonderful mother, and she will also need help to keep him going. This trauma has hurt these children forever. So rather than being in a psychiatrists office with her kid, she’s putting herself and him in front of a news camera. Stellar parenting. I’m seeing a trend in Uvalde.
Yeah blame the gun shop owners instead of blaming all the people that knew he was getting bullied and cutting his face that did nothing to get him help and evaluated. It’s like blaming a car dealership for selling cars to drunk drivers…
Just stop with the mellodrama. Rage at the psycho who targeted these children. The problem isn't the gun, the problem is that when these animals commit these acts, they are taken away to their air-conditioned cells, where they watch cable tv all day, while snacking on little debbie cakes and ramen noodles. It is absurd! If you don't have the stomach to give them the death penalty, then sentence them to 25 years of hard labor. Make them pay a significant price for these crimes, and it will stop.

I don't think these children who survived this traumatic event should be being questioned by news reporters on TV right now. You can see the pain in this child's face every time she asks his mom those questions. These kids need grief counselors to talk to in private. No one want's to see the suffering of children.
Maybe that’s the thing that these law makers need to see. They need to see what these poor kids went through. Adults have been begging for years to get strict gun laws. It didn’t help. Maybe when they see the stories of these kids something will change. I just.. I don’t think it will tho, those politicians only care about money and to get re-elected again. Disgusting. We should be putting it front and center. Maybe that will have an effect on the people holding up gun control laws. Make those congress people see pictures of the aftermath so they can really see what they're causing.
They have obviously agreed for an interview. People need to see the effects of tradjedies like this one. It is probably tough for them to give the interview but they probably know the good that can come out of it by letting everyone know what it is like to go through something like this.

Poor kid. He looked like he was trying to hold everything in while his eyes were darting all around. The look on his face as the siren blared. So many kids are traumatized because someone thought that he had the right to take lives of young kids. Then there is the leadership failure of the cops.
Could’t watch through the end, can’t this lady sees how uncomfortable the kid is answering her questions??? 💔 I would have stopped after the 3rd question max
It's PTSD, which can make a person appear paranoid. When the sirens were going by, you could see his reaction ... that kind of thing can trigger the person right back to the event ... the terror, fear, shock, etc.
@@Toxivity Yes, same here. It can be helped greatly if he and the other children get good therapy (allowing them to talk it out as and when they can). Even the kids that were in the school but didn't see the shooter will be traumatized simply from hearing the shots and being left in there alone for all that time. I have PTSD, myself, and it does eventually get better, where you aren't triggered so badly that you are literally re-experiencing the sights, sound, smell, tactile stuff etc., but it takes good therapy beyond the group sessions where all the kids go to an auditorium and so on. It needs more one on one type of counseling. But I still get a form of flashback on occasion, but my trauma was from 35 years ago I'm absolutely stunned at how some of these children coped ...the little girl whose friend was shot right beside her and she was pretty sure her friend was dead and took some of the blood from her wounds and smeared the blood on herself and laid there trying not to breathe so he'd think she was dead too. Another little one losing consciousness due to blood loss and her friends telling her to stay awake because they knew if she fell asleep (comatose really) that she would die for sure. And 19 police officers, including DEA and other agencies, essentially did nothing all that time. Protocol for all of them is to have officer(s) draw the attention of the shooter while the other officers take him down. I hope with every fibre of my being that Texas votes for Beto as governor. He is a good man, just generally, I think, and Abbott appears soooo corrupt and uncaring for the people of Texas. He just weeks ago removed any regulations that they have re guns leaving the only requirement be age 18. My school doesn't allow us to lock the doors while teaching, because for whatever reason the administration doesn't trust us to keep our doors closed. Honestly, I'd rather have a camera with sound in my classroom than have to keep my door open all the time. It never feels safe, and sometimes things can happen without warning. But the micromanagers in charge of my school don't care about any of that 🙄
Several years ago a school shooting occurred at the high school I attended. Except this shooting was done by the school resource officer (also a local police officer) who shot and killed a deranged man who entered the school, following a student who was late getting there. The school immediately went into lock down and the resource officer confronted the man who was armed with guns and intent on using them, in the hallway. She tried at first to diffuse the situation but when she was unable to do so she shot & killed him before he could endanger anyone else. The school was Sullivan Central High School in Blountville, TN. The officers name is Carolyn Gudger, and in my hometown she is a hero. She is the perfect example of what a school resource officer should be. A courageous woman who did her job, putting her life on the line for the students/faculty she was hired to protect. I was very disappointed that there was not a lot of media attention surrounding this incident, except for locally of course. I just really wanted people to see what a difference having a well trained, courageous police officer who takes their promise to protect and serve seriously on campus can make in these situations
This whole community has been traumatized by this event. The police have failed to do their job and that’s a direct betrayal to the community too. These people are going to need lots of help. They also deserve better from their state leaders.
They need to ask these questions because law enforcement clearly did not do their job. Had it not been for the press questioning the time line, law enforcement would still be sticking to a fabricated story. A little boy interviewed Witnessed one of his classmates yell for help after the cops said to "yell if you need help", Guess what she was shot and is now dead. The kids themselves have said how they need to talk about what happened.
Can y’all stop saying I can’t even imagine that Is so unprofessional and disrespectful it’s actually disgusting that CNN reporters can’t think of more thoughtful responses. Especially as old as this reporter is … saying “I can’t even imagine” does absolutely nothing
I don't understand why a 10 year old child who clearly is still in shock and badly traumatized goes on camera to talk about this? Let them take time to process everything.
A propped open door could only turn this 18 year old into a trespasser. The gun store owner who sold him AR-15s turned the trespasser into a shooter. Criminalize that.
Absolutely not. That's like saying a car company should be sued if a DUI driver kills a family. Weapons don't hurt people, people hurt people, sure WITH weapons but if you are going to criminalize guns you need to criminalize all weapons. 19 kids dying is tragic but it would be morally inconsistent to care about them but not all the people that will be stabbed to death. This is a mental health crisis and a brainwashing crisis, not a gun crisis. Tragedies like this will only ever be stopped by good guys with guns. And if you criminalize weapon purchase or possessions, the evil and the criminals among us will still get them. Stop trying to strip our human right to self defense away because evil people do evil shit. That's not how it works.
@@DopePerson So an open door in a public school and miraculously 19 kids shot by a crazy guy with an assault rifle? You guard the door next time. And better be ready to defend the fortress…

This moment he wanted others to know that him and all his classmates in that entire building were brave and strong against the evil that faced them.
Disgusting. By not changing the law they are just as bad as the shooter in my opinion.
They’re basically making them re-live the trauma and sending them off with no extra support. CNN should have offered the mom a payed trauma therapist
@@Vanessa-jm2gw maybe they did..
I kind of hate how the reporter asks "what was it like for you as a parent?"
I can't help myself but to scream "WHAT DO YOU THINK ITS LIKE!!!!!!!!" Her soul left her damn body for those moments!!!
The reporter is incompetent in this area of crime and psychology
This kid is so sweet. His demeanor is so gentle and you can tell he is so scared. They should take a yr off and go virtual this is crazy.
Hello there
Part of me hates the fact that every news station is in these childrens faces. Yes, I know it’s their job, but I feel like it’s disrespectful. Give these families time.
“As a parent how did it feel” like really? How do you think it felt? Horrifying I’m sure.
This was difficult to watch because I feel like she kept asking questions and he just didn’t want to really talk.
True, but hopefully it galvanizes us into making a change, this shit is fuckin ridiculous
We should be putting it front and center. Maybe that will have an effect on the people holding up gun control laws. Make those congress people see pictures of the aftermath so they can really see what they're causing.
💯
They have obviously agreed for an interview. People need to see the effects of tradjedies like this one. It is probably tough for them to give the interview but they probably know the good that can come out of it by letting everyone know what it is like to go through something like this.
To me it seems these parents are too eager to place their child and themselves in front of a camera and just allow these Re-porters to constantly Re-open up these kids emotional scars and force them to Re-run it in front of the camera.dont make the children have to Re-think this over especially on camera.shameful news media does not put ethics in front of hot stories.just once i wish someone like,i dont know, the heads of news corporations to scale back the prying opinions and become more.....decent.
The children were telling the teacher to wake up, keeping her awake to stay alive. So smart. And this poor baby looks as if he is still in shock. My heart is with you Uvalde. 💔
What room did this occur in, do you know? Seems like it had to be 111 or 112.
He was in room 109. Ramos never went near that room
This should not be normalized. The media portrays and asks these questions like this is something normal when it is nothing but TRAGIC.
You can tell from his eyes that this horrible experience aged him way beyond his years. God my heart breaks for these beautiful children. I hope they all get the help they need, find a way to heal & be kids again
Hello Erica
Hi
Poor lil guy i hope none of the survivors have survivors guilt
He is so brave
I'm so glad he made it out
God Bless the other victims who weren't so lucky
Yes,I confirm.😀
Please stop hassling the children and parents for interviews , guarantee they have not processed any of this yet , the actual horror has not hit them yet and they will need time ,space and a lot of help when it does. 😢 I hope the help is there now. 😢
This is the only way people will realize that dozens of school shootings each year are BAD and should be stopped. The politicians have done nothing. We need them to do more.
@@Matt-fl8uy I know there is an upside , bit now it's the authorities job to inform the public and also to make massive resources available to the families and survivers to rebuild their lives . I was always told , do not put children into the spotlight after a traumatic event. 🙏🙏
There needs to be a Nationwide address directed at Law enforcement saying that if you refuse to enter a school while kids are being executed to turn in your badges immediately.
You thought he was safe. And he survived. Bless you.
Such a brave kid I pray for all these kids healing and mental health. You can see it in his eyes he keeps scanning his surroundings. And his mom omg I couldn’t imagine the fear and panic she felt and when she finally saw him and held him ughhh 😣😰😭😭
she is a bad mom she put him on national TV re telling the event so CNN can get clicks this isnt helping at all this is pure Murder Porn type shit CNN couldnt be happier they have this to talk about since jan 6th stopped working for views
Props to the teacher for still managing to lock the door first before collapsing from her gunshots
After having a gun pointed to my head almost 5 years ago, I had PTSD for a while. I thought I was going to die but for some miracle I wasn’t shot. The guy was yelling I’m going to pop you screaming at me with his revolver cocked ready for fire and I remember saying my prayer out loud God I don’t want to die and somehow he spared me. I couldn’t go outside without feeling everyone was going to do the same thing at any time. I pray for these families and children! 🙏🏻💕
Hello there
Yes, a miracle,😞😞
No kids should be interviewed on camera. They are still in shock. Think of the children and not making a story
Poor, poor child. I feel so sad that we aren't able to protect our youth.
Let’s remember the Democratic run public school system. And the highly Democratic teachers Union. Fight whole heartedly not to have armed security on campuses.
We can but it’s the same people like Joseph McCarthy, against civil rights & for the Vietnam War that’s preventing even the saving of one person from Supermarkets to schools. The only thing the PutinJrtrump republican cult from congress, illegitimate Supreme Court to voters care about is their agenda & staying in power. Gerrymandering so 42% can control everything can you say dictatorship
@@highjinxwillie62 Texas is a republican ran state.
@@highjinxwillie62 : we see in an all PutunJr-trump republican cult world that worked out really well saving children. What are you talking about? It’s likely no deaths here if Dems & teacher unions had their way. Please turn off the Russian propaganda outlet Fox News
@@highjinxwillie62 Are you sure you want to push that argument seeing how there were 19 (and don't let that number 19 get lost in this) police officers in a hallway for 30 mins before a border patrol officer 40 miles away came in to end the carnage???
Be well and be at peace.
What a bad ass teacher. She manages to slam the door in that guys face and lock it while being shot twice! Then lay there and try to calm the children while you’re bleeding.. what a hero.
The poise and strength and articulateness of the relatives and children I have seen on these interviews is astonishing. What amazing people. They should never, never, never have had to go through this. The whole country needs to embrace these families, this whole community, and make sure nothing like this EVER happens again. No excuses.
Is it really necessary for this poor child who’s just went through that horrific ordeal to be grilled by the media!!?? Leave the kid alone, he’s probably completely fucking traumatized and still in shock for Christ sakes!!!! Those people are nothing but vultures!!
thats what i think. Unearthing all of that so soon must be terrifying for him, would be terrifying for anyone
Look at his eyes when the emergency sirens start up. He’s beyond paranoid because of what happened!
It's PTSD, which can make a person appear paranoid. When the sirens were going by, you could see his reaction ... that kind of thing can trigger the person right back to the event ... the terror, fear, shock, etc.
@@jenvicinity9143 Correct, I feel bad for the little guy & the fact that he might have to relive what he went through for the rest of his life.
But I still get a form of flashback on occasion, but my trauma was from 35 years ago
I'm absolutely stunned at how some of these children coped ...the little girl whose friend was shot right beside her and she was pretty sure her friend was dead and took some of the blood from her wounds and smeared the blood on herself and laid there trying not to breathe so he'd think she was dead too.
Shooter bought himself the gun as his birthday present and shot his grandmother in the face before heading for the school.
Sorry for writing so much, but thanks for reading.

What an amazing strong young man. And I like how patient and compassionate the reporter was.
Hello Lisa. You have a cute son I must confess
Look at how souless his eyes look and look at the way he’s shaking….that poor baby is going to remember this for the rest of his life. I would hope at least that the state will pay for all the survivors and survivors’ families therapy for this.
He might be like that for other reasons... who knows.
I have cPTSD and seeing this young boy is so heartbreaking. His voice, his stare, "nothing really happened" all of it is just so terrible to see happen to young humans
This poor baby; he is so traumatized. God bless you Daniel and we are all soo proud of your courage.
Omg So heartbreaking just So Sad for these parents and these precious Angels and families
I refuse to use inappropriate words like “fine” but that mother is very easy on the eyes to say the least
You must be joking. She'd probably eat you. Looks like she's eaten everything else.
The state should be providing free counceliling to this whole school immediately and at no cost.
the fact that someone tried to pry HER terrified & traumatized child out of her arms is sickening.
This is so sad, the horror vibe that those kids will feel if they decide to go back to that school, the flashbacks of that awful day are going to be so hard for them to live through, my heart brakes for them and the families that lost there children ,
That school will have to be torn down,or change for the survivors. Especially the room that the killing took place.😥😥🥺🥺
The reporter didn't get the body language and the quietness of the parent and ESPECIALLY the kid, that right now was not the time to talk. You can see the dude is petrified as Fxxk! I mean LOOK AT HIM! He is traumatized just trying to relive that moment and seeing the face of the shooter that probably looked at him dead in his eyes or at least in his direction and for God's reason, didn't add him to the list. I would have stopped the interview and tried again later or found another way to get his story. That dude is traumatized man. I feel bad.
Of course not, this is cnn my guy, their chasing the story so their network doesn’t croak and roll over n die
That is true. Every time she asked if he saw his face, he relived that moment over again. 🙏 Can't even play fortnight or be in his own room. God bless you Daniel.

So far, they are only asking the children. Aren't the teachers allowed to speak to the press? I think we get a better understanding on what happened if they can.

If they even have the slightest thought of talking to the press, they are supposed to go through their public information officer. They instruct teachers to NOT speak to press.

His teacher saved their lives by locking the door! When I was teaching, we were always told to lock the door after the bell rang.
if they had only locked the entrance door to the school like they were supposed to, this never could have happened.

@@hoodnyx2208 that's a lie. It's so sad that people like you choose to speak on things they don't know. He literally walked in.
The "leaders" here in Texas are abhorrent, and the police that day ... Don't even get me started with my opinion on that...
The interviewer has no shame... to be subjecting this child to these questions.
The kids themselves have said how they need to talk about what happened.
thankyou.and finally another person recognizing this is not right.the media wants ratings and will re-open the scars again and again to push this bs.
Praying for your healing, strength and over all well-being, Daniel. Praying for your beautiful cousin as well. May she rest peace. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

This country is a disgrace. 💯
I'm Mexican American.. We didn't ask the white people to come. The rest of the world is pretty disgraceful itself
I'm guessing if a shooter went into Yale or Harvard the cops would be in there in 30 seconds flat
They were there in the hallway outside of the room for like 45 minutes waiting for a key to get in....unbelievable
@@sadiecali7522 it was over an hour.
Exactly
