The BOTCHED Execution Of Hitler's Field Marshal - Wilhelm Keitel

  • Throughout the Second World War, the most senior German soldiers inside of the armed forces and Wehrmacht was Wilhelm Keitel. He was an experienced military officer and he rose to the rank of Field Marshal and was seen by many as a 'yes man' for Adolf Hitler. Whatever Hitler wanted, Keitel would do and this included signing a number of illegal orders that resulted in his execution.
    Wilhelm Keitel was at the end of the Second World War sentenced to death for war crimes at the Nuremberg Trials, however his execution did not go well. The American executioner John C Woods made a terrible mess of the executions and because of this Keitel's execution and death was prolonged un-necessarily.

    Indeed, he was a Hitler yes man that chose to be there. In addition, he was certainly complicit in war crimes. However, the picture of his body lying on the casket is ghastly. Moreover, I never read where Woods, the executioner, received any disciplinary action for his incompetence. The Army pretty much said "So be it, the sentence was carried out."

    Keitel confessed his sins to a Priest before he died. So he received the last rites. Or so I thought. Turns out that he was assisted by a Lutheran pastor.

      @joni, I do certainly hope that he, as a Catholic, having confessed his sins to a Catholic priest, and having received the last Catholic rites, or Extreme Unction, WAS forgiven by GOD the ALMIGHTY, thru the merits of JESUS CHRIST, and thus was able to enter into heaven 😮

      @@ronaldmessina4229 In those days priests were true catholics, and they administered valid sacraments. If W. Keitel was sorry about his sins, he was forgiven. Most christians will spent some time in purgatory, to expiate sins.

      Not everyone who says to me Lord. Lord shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven. His confession is akin to death bed repentance. When he goes to the other side, the Lord will judge his heart and will show him his sins. He must be held accountable for those thousands of cruel deaths.

    • @joni3503
      @joni3503 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@stevenleslie8557 He was head of the Wehrmacht, which means he had an important position. To be head of the armed forces is not a sin, on the contrary, it can be a position in which a man can do a lot of good. Only when he is ordered to do things that are clearly a sin, and when he nevertheless carries out those orders with a happy heart.
      What King David did was a sin. He wanted to get rid of his commander Uriah, because he had slept with Uriah's wife. So he sent him to war, and he ordered the soldiers around Uriah to abandon him in battle, with the intention that Uriah would thus be killed by the enemy forces. That was evil, and later King David was sorry about his lust and premeditated murder. Now, Uriah might have killed many enemy soldiers during that battle, but he was not guilty of sin, since he followed his King's orders.
      God judges every man to the extend of his personal sin, and not what his superiors ordered him to do.

      Confessing your Sins to a Catholic Priest in the Catholic church serves no purpose at all the people in the Catholic church are being Lied too for your Sins can't be forgiven by confession but by " Blood"
      and this is why Jesus came to this world to die on a cross for all mankind so that in his blood we have forgiveness of Sin so the next time that you go to confess your Sins to a Priest and he says to you "My son your Sins are forgiven you tell him You big Liar when did you shed blood for me only Jesus can forgive Sins don't be fooled any longer by the Catholic church
      Is there no forgiveness of sins without blood?
      “Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins” (Heb. 9:22)

    The german re-armament -"Aufrüstung" should be seen in the context of the Versailles conditions. It was stipulated, that the severe disarmament conditions for Germany would be the very start of global disarmament. Which never started... So the Germans in the mid-thirties made it up like the other countries in Europe and all over the world.

Woods had been discharged from the Navy in 1929 for psychological problems and lied to the Army about his hangman experience. It was the Army's tradition. The only other method used was the firing squad. The latter; however, was considered a more "honorable" death for a soldier. Nonetheless, Nazi war criminals were not viewed as soldiers.

      @patrickcannell2258 Not quite true. Each U.S. state makes their own rules on execution. Some states use hanging. Some states used the gas chamber. Some states used the electric chair. And one or two states used the firing squad….or even gave the condemned the right to choose the method of execution.
