J.J. and Hotch faked Emily's death because they absolutely had no other choice but to to so in order to prevent Doyle from coming back and finishing what he started. Basically everything they did that day was to protect Emily.

I just, Reid as been known to not have the best grasp on his extreme emotions, so this should honestly be nothing less than expected from him, honestly.. It's just a tricky situation in general, really. It can be taken many ways.
I didn't think Reid could be sassy until this episode and I was like "I adore you Reid and I understand why you're so upset with J.J. but there is a time and a place to be sassing off at her...and doing it while trying to solve a case is not a proper time to be airing personal issues."

What's really telling is that Hotch also knew but Reid isn't lashing out at him. The deception is well within what he expects from Hotch. He feels betrayal from JJ because he feels she is better than to deceive him like that. Trust is required for betrayal.
Hotch did try to say that if he should be mad it anyone it should be him being Reid responded with 'Can't, I didn't come to your house crying to 10 weeks'. I'm sure Reid has his issues with Hotch too but the problem with JJ was she was supposed to be that friend to Reid who wouldn't keep secrets. Yet she sat there with him for 10 weeks listening to him cry over Prentiss's death and played dumb knowing perfectly well she was alive. Sure JJ couldn't say anything but knowing that they knew and played dumb that entire time would sting, especially with someone you were close with.

And he has a high IQ, so he should be able to understand that. So he's acting like a kid. 🤦🏻♀️
He understands, on some level, that secrecy was necessary. His friends are few, but precious. He has issues making friends, because he doesn’t often know how to relate to others, or accidentally drives away people who might become. He is not easily forgiving when it comes to betrayal, perceived or otherwise. Not being a baby. He’s autistic, and had his support structure lie to him over the course of an almost-year.
