I've a corded numatic for the last 10 years love it. But been looking at this cordless version just for downstairs as I've a large house and carrying the corded one up und down the stairs is taking its toll 🤣
@Borat same with robot vacuums, everyone calls robot vacuums Roomba, because it is the classic brand for the robot vacuums, same with the vacuums, classic brand is Hoover, so everyone calls it hoover.
The real question isn't how it compares to the cheaper cordless which is useless (I have one) but how it compares to a corded .. that's the big question!
The problem with numatic is that all the features they offer are scattered across too many different machines. I would ideally like one with the pleated micro filter, with a powered turbo brush and the 1060w motor with wet pickup, but that’s 3 separate machines
I'm getting the nvb240 nx version I use these at work excellent can't fault it works excellent on carpet and hard floor with and with out a turbohead all in all numatic have Improved since they entered the cordless market the newer version are very expensive but the run time is far greater 1hr 30 low setting 50 mins high setting and as it is a brushless motor it is very quiet which is a bonus but the cfm is amazing 70 to 80 cfm which incredible for this model I have used it on barrier matting pin pile carpet which is a nightmare as it has channels both the standard and the turbo nozzle coped with it very well and I used it on 2 library's again no faults at all but word of warning the nx300 battery are really expensive I got the battery's at a cheaper price with charger they can retail 500 or more depending on where you purchase but being a contractor 2 battery's are a benefit depending on how many jobs I do each day but I'm really impressed with the vaccum ticks all the boxes for me and the next job will be a deep clean in a school which means I be using my microfilter in it as I'm an allergy sufferer so I be interested to see how it performs
Thank you Roger! It's quite amazing how battery technology has advanced to create pretty good cordless canister vacs now. If you search the words "cordless shop vac" you will see some amazing canister cleaners designed for craftsmen who are working in places where a plug is not available. Ryobi has a very nice one, as do a few other American companies. As you said: when are we going to see a new battery-powered power nozzle that can fit on any canister vacuum wand? I am sure a high performing design would be a big seller!!!
I would love to get my hands on one of these cordless numatic cleaners. Unfortunately they think that Americans are willing to spend an absolute fortune on these cleaners. If they were to ever make their canisters affordable in America, they would sell well I do believe. As it stands, we can get a shop vac for a fraction of the cost.
Since the UK left the EU, trade negotiations have been going on between the UK and US which may mean cheaper imports from the UK to US and visa versa. I’m sure Numatic would like to expand into the USA if they could be competitive.

I don’t think something like the numatic 160 series would be directly competing with them. I think they would compete with the traditional canister market. While I do agree they would never gain a significant share of the market, they would certainly be more common than they are now if they weren’t trying to compete with the premium canister brands. Brands like Miele and Sebo charge far more for their machines in American than in Europe, but they are well established brands. Your average person in American has never heard of numatic or a Henry cleaner. That won’t change until they make them as affordable here as they are in other countries.
