Fun fact you’ll find interesting! Damiano was born with a congenital deformity in his vocal chords. There’s a hole in the middle causing air to escape and making his voice raspy

I too was slow to “get” Måneskin, but seeing a live performance sparked my love of them. This first song from DD is fantastic.
Superb musical analysis,as ever. Finding the song more of a grower but I am keen to hear the different genres Damiano will explore on his album. He has said several times in interviews with Maneskin that he is a pop singer in a rock band. ❤

Maybe the silverline keeps him attached to the band so he never looses his way back 😊 I adore that single. Damiano had lost his joy for a long time and was depressed. He's super intense, complex, introvert but he could express only 25 pcts of his personality with the band because the subjects had to match the dna of the band and he has opposite tastes he really love pop , soul.. and he was super frustrated. So now he's over the moon he really enjoys creating his own thing,. It's a bug risk it could not work at all but he said that an album not working could never be worse than the depression he was feeling by not expressing all of his facets so he will make another album and then another one ❤ I really love your maneskin reactions and now damiano. Thank you !!

@poepje64 you're welcome, I see myself a lot in him , some people need to feel fully feed to be happy and if the others are full into rock forever, ge was the I only one loving pop and slow songs , vic hates the ballads. Ethan is into jazz and classical music too . I think a happy damiano is great for the band..some fans seems to want him to kill himself from depression 🫥 I can't understand that honestly 😔

As a non-musician, it’s always astounding to me how much there is to know. The thirds, the fifths, etc. I perceive it as magic, and the mystery of the How is probably what really attracts me to and sticks me with any particular band. Thank you, Justin and Maude, good luck to Damiano and please recycle the astral fart sound for use again very soon. ❤

Damiano i think its the most memorable and talented singer from the last 10 years. He is the perfect blend of classic (suits, jazz, soul) and the craziness of pop rock( make up, tattoos, groovy sounds). I really liked how this song is so special and not a traditional bop. I am looking forwaed to his album bec he is such a star, always has been

Watched his video after seeing your appraisal - what struck me about it was a very David Gilmour vibe around the chord progressions, the minor chord feel to it, the monumental chorus - loved it. Packed with emotion.

I think it was meant to imply that. Probably "silver lines" just fit better into the musical line. And it could also represent a thread of light that one can follow out of the darkness. Damiano loves to write in a way that leaves room for more than one interpretation.

Personally I think he is doing a double meaning with silver lines...as in lines of cocaine and the silver line connecting the soul to the body...and the doors of the subconscious leading back to life or perhaps death?

With Måneskin on indefinite hiatus and solo careers cemented-in, it is perhaps worth contemplating whether David and company read some of the "Rush" reviews. Pitchfork classified them as: "Sex-idiot rock", and AOTY wrote of David's voice: "constantly scratchy and abrasive, his inflection is way too thick, and it’s at its most insufferable whenever he belts, which occurs fairly often and holds back a lot of the fun that I could try to see with any of Maneskin’s songs in the process."
