I'm very new to this candle business and been buying my supplies little by little, but have been thinking about the name to start the registration process. I had a question about the business plan, who do we ask for help or do we really need one if we sell on Etsy? Amazon handmade? Do we have to show the business plan to someone? Also, is the insurance mandatory?
All of the information I learned was from looking at forums on etsy, I’ve never sold from Amazon hand made so I’m not sure, but no you don’t need to show your business plan to anyone unless you’re wanting to get a loan from a bank, and insurance isn’t legally necessary but I would consider it necessary especially for a candle business since anyone can accidentally burn down their house with a candle even on purpose lol not that anyone would but accidents happen and it’s good to be covered
Do you know if you still need insurance for farmers market? Or just selling to locals? Christmas is coming so Etsy sales should pick up. Between the taxes, insurance and a business lawyer - really cuts profits. This was very informative. Appreciate you
Oh I know, it can get expensive. From what I’ve learned from talking with insurance agents is that you can get a policy that includes “traveling insurance” which is for farmers markets and events. I sell to locals and my insurance covers that because I still do the transaction through shopify… but say with cash? I’m not 100% sure…

Strong scent, lovely packaging, from the window gift box to the wax stamp on the Kraft paper. These would make a lovely gift. You pay attention to detail. It’s obvious you want to do a good job . What kind of wax do you use?
For melts or for candles?
Candles I use well I’m still a beginner still giving to friends and family but I use 464 and sometimes I don’t always get a good HT
I started with 464 too, had such a hard time with the hot throw. Now I mix coco 83 and GB 444, it’s great!
