I love what you do Jackie. You always put the right piece of paper, paint, etc., in the right place every time. You encourage me to "Be Brave". I love, love, love the bright colors. I seem to gravitate to them.
Wow! I held my breath as you began to apply the gold glaze because I thought the black red and white were so strikingly strong and absolutely stunning. Nonetheless, it was intriguing to see how delightful they all became as you mellowed them down with the glaze. Simply Divine! Thank you for sharing.
For me the hardest part is calming with white or other neutrals. I set marks and colors I love but are mess. This video is especially good and breaking down great ways to finish.
The white/quieting down is challenging for sure. I am still working to push myself to quiet things down even more to have a clearer focal point. It’s definitely a process. We just need to keep creating - the more we make, the better we’ll get! ❤️
So glad the intrusive music from the older videos have been stopped. Now I can watch your videos without having to mute your comments. Thanks for sharing
Always love watching you work Jackie 😊This one especially has gone into 'favorites' and 'revisit' because I know I'll be going back to it -- thanks as always for taking the time to share your process.
Beautiful processes that created Amazing Artworks. I love how you narrated and let us into your world. You are sn Amazing artist. 👌‼️♥️Thank You. TOOM@CapeTown
Just found you on TH-cam and I just subscribed to your channel. This video really helped me. I’ve been struggling with making my collage pages more interesting. And I love that you use paint and pens and marks to bring a page to life. You just gave me some ideas to work on a few pages that I’ve been struggling with. Looking forward to watching all of your videos. Thank you for sharing!
I love your videos. Thank you for sharing your art process with us. You have many unique ideas to try. You inspire many of us to actually create art. Blessings!
I enjoyed this series you did here. What a fun way to stretch your imagination with no boundaries and no pressure to make a masterpiece. I just found your channel and had to subscribe. Thanks
I just found you on youtube this morning and I was riveted. I learned so much by watching you paint. The results were stunning. Thank you for posting these!
I think I'm in love. I recognise a fellow CVP alumna, am I right? You are actually clarifying things for me. while I'm going through CVP for the second time. You are helping me to find the "brave" in me. Thanks so very much!
❤️❤️❤️ Oh, I’m so glad you’re finding your brave! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I’m so glad to have you watching! ❤️ I haven’t done CVP, but I have done Find Your Joy with @thispaintinglife and am a member of @alicesheridanstudio ‘s Connected Artist Club ☺️
Love them, and it's so true what you said about how the pieces didn't look plain in the beginning, but that in comparison to the final result they were.
I’m watching this a year after it posted. How very timely for me to come across it now. I’ve been exploring abstraction more and more and always feel like I’m an imposter. Lately, I am feeling stuck. About two years ago, I cut up work I’d done on a large sheet. Those pieces sit aside somewhere in my studio waiting to be pushed further or turned into collage papers. It’s the other three steps that followed in your video which I needed to see. The white, the black and the glaze. (And I did remember the baby wipes from another of your videos.) I will try these additional steps on my very next piece! There was an issue raised while you were making marks. My painting routine typically covers all the "white" ground. To see you add white back in is the breakthrough I need. Thanks for these videos. They’re a great help.
Thanks so much! Small paper paintings actually look really great matted and framed! Sometimes you just need a little bit of art for a powder room or other small spaces ❤️
It’s repetition. Quantity is more important than quality when it comes to developing your own style. Make as much art as you can, as often as you can and your own unique marks will make themselves apparent to you ❤️
Love the mini pieces series!!!! Speed not an issue for me and TH-cam allow us to slow or fast any clip. What sort of ink do you put in the grog marker?
Wow! Gorgeous. Gives me inspiration so I will try this tomorrow 🙂. What brand and name of the colour is the red ink? And what is that blue roll your wiping with 🙂❤️
Thanks Eva - so glad to help with inspiration! The blue roll is just a roll of paper towels and the ink is Daler Rowney FW acrylic ink. Thanks so much for watching! ❤️
Thanks for posting this. FYI, for me it was waaaaay too speedy to watch comfortably! I had to slow it down quite a bit to be able to watch, which makes the voiceover really strange. What about showing some of the process in regular time, then speed up for the rest? In any case, appreciate it.
Thanks for your feedback, Mary ☺️ I edited the video before I figured out how to insert the timestamp links into the description. I wanted to get to the point of the video quickly (the 3 steps), but I also wanted to include the start-to-finish process because I know how much I like watching other artists create. So I sped up the first few minutes to super speed to try to have the process available to those who liked it but to get to the point faster for others. Perhaps it’s best to “mute” when you slow it down 😆 Next time I’ll put the timestamp links in from the beginning so people can skip around AND keep the time lapse to a normal speed. Thanks for watching! ❤️
Wow as in incredible. The pieces are amazing and it’s a great lesson on your various prompts at the end. Speed was fine for me but I kind of know your moves now. Ha. Thanks so much.
Why not? 🤗 I could sell them in small frames, or in large frames with large matting, or make them into cards to send friends, or……? Sometimes I’ll bring some small paper art matted to a standard sized frame to art fairs and they help make art affordable for people who want to own something original but can’t afford something huge. Lots of possibilities ❤️
As with the previous comment your vids are always a delight. I enjoy your wry approach to both art and life. I have encountered this sort of reduction/addition approach before, tho yours is a variant that i want to try out and as with amherst88 i will revisit to get the steps. It never ceases to amaze me how much better things are cut down in an arbitrary fashion and how black does wonders! Ideas for actual pictures emerge that you would never have thought of. Leastways I wouldn't, but i am not sure that says much! Thanks. Best R
Thank you for your thoughtful words, Robert - I really appreciate it ❤️ A few years ago, I realized that I had assumed that painters knew exactly what they wanted the end result to look like and they had the skill and patience to achieve their exact desired image. What I now know to be true is that many artists (myself included) have no idea what the end result will be and work in response to what they see on the canvas as they go. I find it’s much more fun to create if I get to discover the image as it unfolds than to try to recreate something that I won’t ever quite be able to achieve. ☺️ Once I realized that, it was a game changer for me. The pressure came off and the ability to play came back. Cheers to discovering all of the creativity as it unfolds!
I love what you do Jackie. You always put the right piece of paper, paint, etc., in the right place every time. You encourage me to "Be Brave". I love, love, love the bright colors. I seem to gravitate to them.

Glad you like the non-music version ☺️ Thanks for watching!
I thought I really liked the big picture then when you cut it WOW! build up the greatness, I'm here for it. 🧡🧡
Haha - it’s exciting to see what happens with the smaller pieces, isn’t it? It’s one of my favorite things to do! ❤️
@@jackieschomburgart Yes truly creative!

You have a nice style for this thing.
Thank you! ❤️
Love them all! Have you tried collaging on address labels: 2x2, 2x3, 4x4 and full page. It's cool, you can use them accents for your envelopes.
Ooh, I haven’t yet, but that sounds awesome! Thanks for the tip! 🎨🙌
Congratulations on 1000 subscribers
Thank you, Carl! ❤️ I’m really excited because now I can officially use my phone to paint live on TH-cam! 🌈
Love this idea! Starting large and then cutting it up. Very cool 😎
Thanks! I highly recommend giving it a try sometime - It’s really fun to do ☺️
Many wow moments in this one....thanks so much for posting Jackie!

Girl I just found you and I’m in love with everything you do!!!! Such an inspiration.
You just made my day! ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you, Paula! Which kind of videos are your favorites so far (real time/livestream? Shorter, timelapse tutorials?)?
wow, these are great!!
Thank you, Cindy! I appreciate you watching! ❤️
Thanks so much!! Your process is really interesting and inspirational. I use to make the same decisions when I work more intuitively 😅☺😊
Thank you, Monica! These are just one reference point for decision making - there are MANY “right” decisions when it comes to art making ☺️❤️
Jackie these are wonderful and so spontaneous! What can you or will you do with them, considering their size is not that big?
Thanks so much! Small paper paintings actually look really great matted and framed! Sometimes you just need a little bit of art for a powder room or other small spaces ❤️
Love this. Thanks
You’re welcome! Thank you for watching! ❤️
❤👌

What's the secret to making marks that look good, like yours. Why do mine look ugly? Is it practice? Talent/instinct? The motions used? Or ?......
It’s repetition. Quantity is more important than quality when it comes to developing your own style. Make as much art as you can, as often as you can and your own unique marks will make themselves apparent to you ❤️
I forget the name of the tool you are using as a brush but is not a brush..it’s like the catalyst with the handle
Hi Ann - it’s called a color shaper ☺️
Jackie, what size is the paper you start with? Great work! ❤️
Hi Pia! Thank you! ❤️ This paper is either 18x24” or 22”x30” - I can’t remember which
Love the mini pieces series!!!! Speed not an issue for me and TH-cam allow us to slow or fast any clip. What sort of ink do you put in the grog marker?
Thanks Theo! I used Golden High Flow acrylic paint in the marker ☺️
Wow!

@@jackieschomburgart Thanks Jackie! Look forward to future videos.
Do you sell these pieces individually or as a set.
I sell pieces individually, but always love it when pairs of paintings end up in the same home 🥰
Wow
Ha! Is that a good “wow” or a bad “wow”?
Wow as in incredible. The pieces are amazing and it’s a great lesson on your various prompts at the end. Speed was fine for me but I kind of know your moves now. Ha.
Thanks so much.
Wow! Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️ I wasn’t sure if you meant “wow” as in when someone says “wow! You had a baby!” When a baby is ugly 😆
"But why so small? What do you do with them? Do you sell such small pieces?" Greetings
Why not? 🤗 I could sell them in small frames, or in large frames with large matting, or make them into cards to send friends, or……? When you know nothing about art, you can become an abstract artist...🤪😜😝
Just joking...
Interesting thing to say. Are you an artist yourself?
