Sam Heyes: I've been on a silverchair kick for awhile now, too. It's such a good album. It's too bad they couldn't recapture that magic in their later albums.
Ditto. It wouldn’t be incorrect to say I have a pretty deep obsession with the band. I was a fan from the beginning - the first 4 records are legit magnificent-I’d day Neon Ballroom is a masterpiece. But like most - l lost track of the band -and their official “hiatus” or breakup brought EVERYTHING to a screeching halt and Silverchair just abruptly went silent. They didn’t just abandon the band -they exterminated the brand. Even groups like Led Zeppelin or SC nemesis Nirvana are STILL releasing new or remastered music. I stumbled on to a video of Daniels more recent work -which his look and sound were nearly unrecognizable-I was disappointed-but that lit the curiosity to rediscover the band. And I’m so glad. It’s my go-to music, all the albums are beginning to end flat out great. Peace🦋
It's amazing that THAT voice came out of someone so young. Eveytime I watch a Silverchair performance from this era, I'm always in complete awe at the talent.
When a historic moment happens and it isn't captured many times that would be this sound song.. I was sexually traumatised as a kid and this song spoke about purely purity and hope..thanks Dan J.. You may not have been scared as a child to.the state of some, but your great heart soul shares the love out of you for all else . Thanks bro
It is incredible how just one song can give you enough courage to hang tight to life or encourage you to just end the suffering like Suicidal Dream and both came from the same great artist
How I like this thing... raw, true, direct... and that PRS kicks ass! How I miss this band... they still make a difference for me. Appreciation for the video.
such a great piece of music...so glad we had the old chair and dans crazy killer skills both lyrically, vocally as well as his guitar riffs...the knotted blonde hair somehow helps with that real aussie 90s goodness...
+starfuckerification Daniel is awesome, but I miss him with silverchair playing grunge! In 2009 they were playing pop and now Daniel johns is a solo artist.
Such sincerity in that song. Been a lifelong Silverchair fan since sometime around '94 when I saw MTVs buzzclip video debuting Tomorrow. I actually recorded it on VHS and still have it.
My favourite song....amazing performance...greatest hit...credo! Meu inglês é uma porcaria....kkkk...será o que aconteceu com o Daniel???? Será que ele bateu a cabeça? Hoje em dia ele faz músicas pra quem não gosta de música....que pena. Muito talentoso.
This is the only video that I know of where they played it live. I've followed them from day one, seen them live about ten times. Never seen them play it.
Yea they were so young back then my dad new about these guys since i was like 5 or 6 now im just geting into these guys and im 17 years old now and its the year 2011.I like these guys they were pretty badass back then i wonder what there latest records sounds like,i heard they came out with a new album in 2006.
Even though the sound sucks on this I am so glad somebody has posted this song live, 'cuz I love this song and I have never seen or heard it played live!
my favourite song to listen...my fav song to jamming as well.. i like the solo..so sweet. and its getting grungier when come to distortion and screaming!
I never understood why the band retired this song after the Frogstomp tour. All 3 said it was awkward to play live, as it's about physical abuse, and fans were left crying at the end. I would think songs like "Ana (openfire) would be rough for fans
Es inevitable que mi mente no compare, esta imagen azulada con con una silueta de cabello rubio y largo, es imposible que no compare de inmediato al concierto de Nirvana en vivo en Paradiso en 1991 Se ven realmente casi iguales
@laynestaley1990 I havent listened to any of there new stuff yet,but ill take you word for it maybe your right so far ive only got into 2 songs on the frog stomp album, and about 7 or six songs from the Freak Show album and both albums are awesome they do kick ass!
Yep thats true Bands do mature. Ive really Enjoyed there other 2 albums, Ive heard one song From Neon Ballroom on Pandora Radio, it sounds different from there other 2 albums.
16 years old! 16!!!!!! Who plays like this at 16?! PURE talent!
I think they were still 15 at this point :)
Daniel was born April 22 1979, Ben was born October 24 1979, Chris was born November 10 1979
It's really awesome! It's not only playing like that, it is composing something like that, too!
And his singing, he has quite a range and it seems rather effortless for him. That's also amazing.
It's all so good! Ben, Chris and Daniel! They carry a tune at sixteen that most mature musicians can't!
Shade gets overlooked ...great tune
Absolutely. Along with Findsway and Suicidal Dreams, it is in the top 3 tracks on the album.
Favourite song off the Frogstomp album.
Im 43, this album is in my top 10 best albums ever! Cant believe it was written by 14 year old kids
45 here……..l I agree
Im a massive Silverchair fan. this song was one of those that got me through my teen years. Live on in the music everyone!!!

I have this whole show on a VHS tape somewhere 🤣. I watched it a billion times between '96-'98. I also had that same Offspring shirt.
A voice like THIS at THAT AGE 🥵🥵😍😍
That voice turns me on🔥🔥🔥😈😈😈🙈🙈🙈
There was a time when the music touched the desperate side of my anger...love ya.

So privileged to have spent 1995 in Newcastle, Australia (another school from Silverchair), and the 90s Aussie goodness was real. Good times.
Little Daniel is very beautiful:) I love so much Daniel Johns and his long hair:)
what about now daniel?
+starfuckerification Daniel is awesome, but I miss him with silverchair playing grunge! In 2009 they were playing pop and now Daniel johns is a solo artist.

Is it true that this was the only time they played this song live? If so, that sucks. This is one of my favorite songs from this record.
Kevin House if they were that talented they could perform the song outside of a studio
This is the only video that I know of where they played it live. I've followed them from day one, seen them live about ten times. Never seen them play it.
I just agree 100%, same here bud.
BTW, had the chance to watch them in Rock in Rio Brasil 2001and it was fucking great!
Didn't they JUST do it, Gmail? Like, here, in a video? Moron.

Daniel Johns was my platonic love.
And my first boyfriend resembled a lot like him (since I couldn't get the original, I've got a similar copy!)
Nostalgia

They sound like a mix of Nirvana and Pearljam and Its good!
Those chords
Fucking phenomenal
That had to be one hell of a feeling for that talented kid to put on such show at such a young age. He looks like he is 12 lol.
Черт, не могу поверить, что ему 15. Он прекрасен. Был. Верните гранжового Дэниэла!!

I'm agree, they are another band now, don't know if better or worse but is another style, it's a matter of taste, I prefer this 90's silverchair.
