I like an aesthetically pleasing trash can (I have the Kohler) because guests feel like they instantly know where it is without having to ask or peruse, so they feel more at home in my home. That’s just me.
I agree, we have the Brabantia Bo Touch bin, its aesthetically pleasing, in a corner and out of the way. It's nice as you suggest for guests to find. Anyhoo that was the only suggestion that missed the mark for me, I LOVED the other suggestions Kiva had 😊
Agreed, it's also lost storage in a small kitchen and when it's under the sink as it often is at houses I have visited, someone is always in the way of the trash as they cook/clean. And it gets dirty quickly since you can't use a foot pedal on a door. Everyone's got a trash can it's no biggie!
Same, I have a simple human duo (trash/recycle) dupe from Walmart. It’s on the side of a counter where it’s not immediately visible. Something about trash in a cabinet bothers me. 🤷🏾♀️
I like a trash can that has a pedal in front so you can open it without having to touch it with your hands. I have the Simple Human Butterfly - it's really good for small spaces.
agreed. think the solution to the problem shouldn't create another problem. Would rather use the extra cabinet space to hide small appliances to reduce counter clutter. also the act of asking the host for trash location as if it's the wifi code--with like a raw banana peel in your hand--doesn't seem that dignifying.
The ceiling fan in our office/guest room looks like a "normal" hanging pendant but there are three clear acrylic blades that pop out of the top and extend when the fan is in use. It's so pretty, it throws lots of air, it fits with our style, and it always gets compliments!
Thanks for recognizing that most of us have ceiling fans because we NEED them. Your suggestions are spot on. We changed the ugly fan/light combo in our main living area for recessed lights and a sleek 3- blade fan; what a difference!
Unpopular opinion: I don't like putting trash cans in cabinets. Trash is smelly, constantly decomposing, and messy. The less I can jostle it around regularly the better. The more separation and sealing I can give it the better. Trash is also moist, and I don't want that moisture creating any kind of ecosystem in my cabinetry. Cleaning around trash bins that sit inside a cabinet, even on tracks, is a nightmare since liquids occasionally drip and small bits of trash occasionally spill. And if you're like me, you like to clean the can often!
My two trash cans pull out of a cabinet but they aren’t on any tracks. They hang in the air by metal bars. Very easy to clean! I have no problems with my garbage getting nasty. Most food goes down the garbage disposal as does anything liquid. As for any grease , I pour it into a special container that I keep under the sink. I love my garbage cans hidden from view! It’s so funny how different us women can be! Good thing we get to do whatever we want!
I like them under the sink. All food scraps go in a covered compost pail. Any trash containers or bottles that held food or liquid are rinsed and shaken to get water droplets off. I have under sink liner to protect the cabinet. Trash is emptied almost daily. Hate a garbage can sitting in the kitchen, occupying space. Destroys the aesthetic for me.
Bravo for including pets! Many designers (even the ones with pets) don't talk about how to style your living space when you have pets. I have cats and the big challenge for me is how to incorporate cat furniture/trees in my living spaces. They take a lot of stress off the sofas and chairs (my fur babies sleep on and claw the cat trees rather than the furniture). Plus they like to be up high when they nap. The problem is most cat trees are hideously ugly.
I have a very nice bowl on my coffee table designated to hold the remote controls. I love it. My question is how do I get my husband to put the controls “in” the bowl not beside the bowl?
My husband is an audiophile and his stereo speakers are huge and quite attractive. We would never hide them in a cupboard. We also display his beautiful guitars as artwork in framed cases. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
I use black gaffer tape to hide lamp cords by taping them over the back of the chest or table and taping them along the backside of the leg that faces the wall. It makes the area underneath look clean and uncluttered. The cords aren't visible from the front or side. 👍
I LOVE the dog toy basket. My dog loves to dig through the toys and picking one out. It’s so adorable and it just looks adorable too as an interior object. (He doesn’t put the toys back though 😂) Just like nice dog beds, they make a home look so cozy and cuddly 🥰
You dont even need the tracks in your cabinet! I dont have the tracks in my cabinet, but I still keep a smaller trash can in there and use the plastic bags you get when you shop at stores in it. Then I have my large 13 gal trash can in the broom closet and when my kitchen bin is full I just take that bag into the larger can. That way I dont have to walk far to throw away scraps when Im in the kitchen, but I also have the large bin so Im not taking the trash outside daily. Awesome tips, Kiva. Love your videos.
I do like the suggestion of putting a speaker in a wide open vase that is tall enough to hide it. Plus the sound acoustics would improve greatly because of science. Love it. LOL
There's this home I saw on TH-cam, to hide their TV cords, the built a false projected wall infront of the actual wall that opens up like a closet door so they can still access the cables easily. That's what I'd like to do in my own house
I have decoupaged outlet and light switch covers to match the decor of the room. I realize this draws more attention to them, but I like the whimsy of it, and my style is boho/maximalist. I have found that cocktail napkins offer an endless variety of styles and aesthetics for decoupage. Also, if you're going to place a large/heavy piece of furniture in front of an outlet and block it, first plug in an extension cord so you'll still have access to the power. You can thank me later!
One of your best videos ever! I absolutely love the tips that you recommended for hiding the pet peeves that have been bothering me! Thanks Kiva, I love your videos!💜👍💙
Omg this was SUCH a helpful video! You’re seriously the best interior design TH-camr for coming up with AMAZING ideas/suggestions. I also love that in other videos you will come up with ideas for different styles as well, instead of assuming that everyone is into the same farmhouse style that all of these other TH-camrs are solely pursuing.
I love my new kitchen. I have a fridge with doors that match the cabinets. It’s shallower so it doesn’t stick out. My dishwasher door also matches the Cabinets. I cover our thermostat with a Mexican straw mask. I hide tv chords behind a bookshelf that doesn’t have a back. The books hide the chords but you can still get to them. Now I wish you could come help me figure out how to improve my bedroom design 😂 and a few other spots in my house.
I love this video so much! I am always looking for ways to hide the “ugly things”. I don’t mind the little inconveniences for the sake of a nice, sleek design. I did my thermostat behind some art, and I don’t mind moving it when I need to access it. Same with my outlets! I have a projector instead of a tv. Something about having a giant black box on the wall I despise! I just pull the screen down when I wanna watch something! Would love a part 2 with bathroom tips!
But then you have to hide the projector, lol. I think the best solution for an ugly TV is that Frame TV that costs more than a down payment on a house.
In Sweden we always have our kitchen trash can under the sink. Been like that for like atleast 60 years. A trash can on the floor in the kitchen in sweden is just odd.
Love these tips! I'm really proud of my DIY dog beds - West Elm metallic woven under-bed baskets using old pillowcases and pillows from my bed. Stylish, washable and my little dogs hop right in!
Thank you for the tips and tricks. As always they are very practical as they are aesthetician. Can you please suggest ways to jazz up the cat tree and cat tree placement in general? I love my kitty and he loves his gigantic cat tree which sits right by the bay window blocking everything.
Love theses tips! Grandma KB and her shoe vase would get along with my mother 😊 my mother made sure with any object no matter how ugly or ordinary, she would minimize, hide, or accessorise it. She would decant mouthwash in a crystal decanter with small glasses on a tray!
I painted my celing fan, and I love it. Before it was installed, I knew I wanted a color that they don't come in. It needed to go with my color palette, so I purchased the style I liked but purchased in white, then painted it. Now, whenever I change up my colors, I remove the blades, paint them, and put them back together. I do a contrast on the part that the blades connect to. At this time, that is the same as the blades. I love your posts. Thank you. 🎉
Kiva, your fur baby is adorable! Ours does not believe his herd of squeaky animals should *EVER* be captive in a basket. We've tried, but he takes them out no matter what. The best compromise we've found is to push them under the coffee table. I'm ok with that. He is the sunshine of life 🐶
Love the suggestions for hiding cords and outlets. There's a narrow wall in my foyer with a shelf built into it. There's a switch plate there that's the bane of my existence. I'm exploring the idea of using a piano or cabinet hinge-like attachment with a gallery-wrapped art piece, or possibly a framed art piece with some depth (as a door) to camouflage the switch plate, while keeping it accessible. On another wall is a thermostat (hate it). I'm wondering how/if using a gallery-wrapped canvas art piece will effect the accuracy of the thermostat.
Yeah, my hall has a breaker box on the wall. i hung a canvas painting there, unframed, but it was always getting bumped. I finally left it alone. The hall's not particularly lit since it's so short, so I no longer pay it much mind.
Very useful. If you attach the stretched canvas art to the wall with little hinges on one side, it can be easily opened. I did that with my thermostat.
This is one of my favorite posts of yours. Keep them coming. How do you hide things in plain sight on the counter? I have a Lomi composter which I LOVE, but it is sizable. No appliance garage and you can’t put it away and take it out.
I blame that show called Trading Spaces from the 90s for people taking their ceiling fans down. The designers always wanted to get rid of ceiling fans and practically shamed people for having them. They expected everyday people to live in museums. 🙄
They also took closet doors off ad replaced with ugly unpractical curtains that don't close and hide inside.. Also who thinks painting the cloth furniture was good? Stiff cloth, flaked off, not cleanable, ruined good furniture
I appreciate your practical ideas and encouragement to make the necessary changes, for a beautiful and enjoyable home. P.S: I find having trash cans, etc. not on the floor, makes cleaning, sweeping and mopping the floors & floor boards much easier & quicker. No need to move things out of the way.
I keep all my shoes in a Billy bookshelf with doors near the entrance to my door. I bought 4-5 extra shelves to able to fit more shoes, and it’s really great to be able to see all the shoes at once and also no one would be able to tell. Now this only works up to a certain shoe size. When I lived with my ex, his shoes didn’t fit behind the doors, so I used a curtain instead of doors until I got him his own shoe cabinet that looks really nice (you can’t see any shoes) and also serves as a cute little landing space by the door.
Kiva, such down to earth and practical tips. For the fans, certainly NOT with lights and low profile looks much better. Fandalier? crazy stuff. I am in FL so they are very useful year-round. I got fans to match the ceiling color as much as possible and yes, I use those dust magnate swifter things to wipe them so the dust doesn't just fall down on everything. They sell knock off swifters at the dollar stores AND you can shake them out outside and reuse them. Thanks again, and keep smiling sweetheart.
I just utilized your tips about making artwork look better by getting some great frames and mats on Facebook marketplace and a few more at ikea and now have a pile of artwork I can’t wait to hang up in my office (that I’m redoing as my Xmas present to me)
Omg I LOVE the idea of hiding the speaker in a vase!!! My color theme in my tiny studio is grey with hints of red, and my speaker is blue and obviously doesn't match. I LOVE buying cute vases even though my vase to indoor plant ratio is quite off, but here's another reason for me to buy another cute vase 😂 Thanks!!!
Love this video! I like to hide everything. I want my style to shine. The space needs to be functional, but if I can hide some of the functional components that is a huge win.
Oh My Gosh - The ceiling fan idea is fantastic and I have already been planning to get a basic black ceiling fan without anything fancy or ornate that will be so much easier to clean too. It will be a surprise for my daughter because she hates the busy ornate enormous fan in her room.
This is much better than eliminating the fan altogether! They are fairly easy to switch out and definitely easier to clean. I hope your daughter loves it, Mary!
I just did the trash can rack because our new dog kept knocking the trash can over and pulling out trash. Only after the trash cans were hidden away was I like 'wow this also just looks a lot better without our garbage for all to see.' Great tip even if you don't have dogs!
Love the suggestions, I know you dont have kids, but can you do one that's dedicated for us parents that have toys and all types of playpins etc for us please!!
I love the idea of covering up appliances like a cabinet. However, I personally wouldn't cover the oven because there are some foods, like some cakes or souffles, that require watching them through the window. If you have to open the door, the cake can fall. So, if you bake a lot, just something to keep in mind! But otherwise i love the covered dishwashers and fridges!
Oh wow! I’m So Glad I watched this one as well! I have been racking my brain with this problem we have with our microwave and how ugly it is! And now it’s broken so for a temp fix we have the horrible “microwave on our counter” look and yep it’s driving me insane. Now I have TWO! One, a solid white one, that’s broken, above our stove, and one that we are using until we can figure out what to Do with this whole Mess! Thank u ! Love the idea about putting my Sonos speakers in a deco piece while I’m not using them also! Thank u! ❤️❤️
I KB. I have a question about feather/down pillow inserts. I love that they hold their shape and a karate chop shape. BUT! I have a problem that the feathers work their way out of the pillow cover and poke me and my guest. One, how embrassing. And two, they hurt. It is typical? And can you recommend another good quality pillow insert? Thank you. Love your videos!
Litter box? Would love some tips on this. I bought a large rectangle wicker piece of furniture from Target that could be a storage chest or coffee table. Cut a hole on the side of it big enough for my cat to enter and exit. Glue gunned around the opening. Lined it with plastic that is periodically replaced and put the litter box in there. It works and its not noticeable--easy to remove lid and clean. Wondering if anyone else has any better ideas. I looked for months and then just decided to create my own.
My aunt put a kitty door in a panel of a cabinet door in the bathroom, and she has the litter box under the sink. She has cabinets with panels on it, so you can't even tell it's a cat door because she cut it out of the door and then reattached it on a hinge
Hi Kiva! I love your content! 💕 Your videos have really helped me when it comes decorating and organizing my apartment. My apartment is a small 1 bedroom, and I share it with my husband. I’m continuing my education this month by joining a certificate program before I start my master’s next year, and I am in dire need of an office space. Plus, I’m an upcoming content creator as well, and I’m tired of working from my couch lol. We plan to put a desk in our bedroom, so that it’s out of sight and not taking up the bit of space we have left in the living room. I want my bedroom to be aesthetically pleasing, but I still want all the essentials of an office. So, I say all of this to ask, how would you recommend hiding a printer and a shredder in a small office space?
@@lauralaforge558 Yes, thanks for replying btw! So, actually this coming month me and my husband are moving to a 2 bedroom, and we’re going to turn the extra bedroom into an office/guest room. I decided to go with a standing desk and an IKEA Alex drawer for the additional space that I need. My degree program is over now, but I’m still pursuing content creation and intend to work from home after my military service as well. So I think a standing desk is perfect for extended periods of working, and it gives the real estate that I need for all of my equipment. As for the printer, it is going to go on top of the IKEA file cabinet. And since we’ll have additional space, I can find somewhere to tuck my shredder, or I’ll just put it under my desk or beside the Alex drawer.
@@baddiewiththebooks congrats on finishing your degree program! I have an Ikea sit stand desk. The cheapest non electric version (I prefer non-electric things since electric is something extra that can break). If you happen to get an Ikea sit stand desk OR another that is cheap particle board top AND plan to get a clamp on 3 monitor mount, my advice is to put a 2x4 on top of the desk and clamp the mount. The clamp broke through my desk twice before I did that. Probably you wouldn't have the same situation as me but just in case... Lol. It sounds like you're killing it at life! Thank you for your service as well.
Kiva, several days ago I went out to various stores (Kirkland, Homegoods, At Home and a few others) and all I kept thinking of was YOU!!!! I didn’t find AT ALL what I was looking for but fell in love with so many things in each store. 😭😭😭
I got a trasher slider to fit my kitchen's under cabinets, but it was literally half an inch too small for the *border.* 😝 Dang it! Lol! Make sure things measure the entrance of the cabinet too! So now I have 1 slider for trash and pull out the second a little for recycling 😉
The cord box🙌🏾. I saw that and immediately ordered 3 from Amazon. They came yesterday and what a huge difference. I need one more (it’ll be here Monday), I love them! Thanks, Kiva😊
Ahh, the shoes, until they make a product that actually picks up the shoes and puts them in the container, that problem will never be solved with my family lol!
I couldn't stop looking at your painting ... the one with the lady .....her face scare me ..lol....love how you are brave to have these bold paintings in your home...👏👏...Thanks for the videos.
The last 2 homes I have lived in, first thing I did was replace all the fans. Dang, the gold brings back nightmares! Mine are actually white, but they are minimal and sleek so they blend into the ceiling so to speak. I did this so as not to clash with any decor style I choose. Great tips!
Baskets ! Yes , baskets for everything . Great for covering speakers as the sound is not distorted . So useful for toys , kids and dogs , toys that is ! Over long cords and extension cords can be dropped into them . Shoes, gloves , scarves and hats can all be stored in baskets by the door , and they can ' breath ' . Lidded baskets are great to hold loose change and keys . Also tv remote controls , and all the other gizmos for games are great in baskets . Finally , baskets or woven trays hung on the wall to cover unsightly outlets , thermostats or security systems . If your decor isn't boho natural you can always paint the baskets , or further decorate them to match your aesthetic .
My husband insisted that we needed a box cutter, pen and pad, and a tape measure on the shelf in the tiny foyer. It drove me crazy until I found a small decorative box, a candle, and a small plant. The box hides the ugly, and everything looks intentional.
Ikea sells under cabinets track system for garbage and it actually looks quite ok. We didn’t use it because it’s too big for us and it took a while to find the right size. But now that we have it we really enjoy using it. I insisted on having a separate compost bin (7L) with a lid from Joseph Joseph that hangs on the inside of the cabinet door for organic waste, so it wouldn’t smell.
Ikea has some really nice shoe cabinets. I'd like to get one for our entryway. They're kind of short in depth so you can't put much on top, but that also means more room in the hallway!
I have a hideous retro towel warmer in my bathroom😢 I wanted to get rid of it but apparently it is part of the water heating system in the apartment and they said unless the whole apartment changes it , I can't change it, it is sticking like a sore thumb and dates the whole bathroom which is already dated enough 😅 it is metal color, what would you recommend to hide it 😢 shaill I spray paint it to gold to act like its an important piece for me and I am proud to keep it 😊 or black to make it smaller? ( as if its possible?)thank you Kiva and all ❤❤
If you live alone and don't generate much trash, try using a trash bag holder made for an RV. I have a large plastic trash bin under the sink (pull-out), but the bag would be too big for just one person. I attached the small trash bag holder (and small bag) to the inside of the larger bin and now it's perfect!
Thank you Kibha. I will try a few of those. Great advice as always. Love your home style. Any chance of a video on painting nd styling mdf wardrobe doors please? Thank you kindly Shiv (London U. K.)
Thanks for another great video. I have a gorgeous basket full of pet toys that is easy for my dog to take from. The only problem is that she always brings all the toys out and they get scattered all over the floor.
Gail, I think you misunderstood! Of course we want our dogs to play with all of the toys in the world, but sometimes they leave them all out and we trip or have to pick them up just after doing so! It was said without any negativity 😊.
@@KivaBrent Yep - today, once again the basket was empty. I was laughing to myself that, unlike children, dogs can't be taught to put it all away when they are done. :):)
Something I thought about doing with my speakers was cutting little inlets into the wall, almost like cabinets, and setting the speakers in there. Then you can either add a mesh cover plate, slider, or even a decorative light in front.
Many speakers have vents to increase bass, if the vents are too close to a solid surface you'll get boomy and over emphasized bass. Make sure the speakers are unvented or have front vents. Also there are speakers designed recessed into the wall - these won't be cheap, but they are designed to work properly when hidden.
I'm a big fan of pretty storage boxes, big and small. I just keep them. Sooner or later I find a use for them. My kid's playmobil is inside a pretty box with a lid, as if it's part of the living room's decoration. Other toys are also on pretty boxes on the bookcase but you can't immediatly see that it's colouring books and barbies in there.
For the TV cable... if you've got a proper height piece of furniture below it (not a super low TV stand) then this will work. Add a thumbtack or small nail or hook behind the bottom edge of the TV and run the power cords ACROSS the bottom of the screen (but behind). Run it as far to the end as you need it, then let it hang vertically, where you will then place tall decor in front of it to hide it. I use a picture frame over a stack of books and a candle. If you've got a super low TV stand, it won't look great since you'd need a tall piece that would look disproportionate.
For the dog toys, I think having only 2 out at a time is good. It keeps the clutter down but also you can rotate the toys every week so your dog thinks he's getting new toys all the time 😅

Thanks for recognizing that most of us have ceiling fans because we NEED them. Your suggestions are spot on. We changed the ugly fan/light combo in our main living area for recessed lights and a sleek 3- blade fan; what a difference!
I've seen some gorgeous fans lately
I don't understand why they are considered unfashionable, it's like tomorow someone decide windows aren't popular anymore xD
I just saw the "coolest" retractable ceiling fans 😆 That's what my next purchase is 😊👍🏻

Thank you. 🎉
I put my trash can in a black basket weaved Landry basket that comes with a lid....it looks great. I need the cabinet space so it works for me.
Hella clever
Kiva, your fur baby is adorable! Ours does not believe his herd of squeaky animals should *EVER* be captive in a basket. We've tried, but he takes them out no matter what. The best compromise we've found is to push them under the coffee table. I'm ok with that. He is the sunshine of life 🐶
This might be your best video yet! I love all of your suggestions. Thank you for making this video. My pup and I thank you!
Thanks so much Michele! What kind of pup do you have? 💕
Maybe your art piece could be something filigree that allows airflow. Not canvas art. Something sculptural...
Yeah, my hall has a breaker box on the wall. i hung a canvas painting there, unframed, but it was always getting bumped. I finally left it alone. The hall's not particularly lit since it's so short, so I no longer pay it much mind.
Why have I never thought to use the tracks for a trashcan?! These tips are the best and very doable! Thanks for making this this video!
Thanks for watching Davina!! 💕
Very useful. If you attach the stretched canvas art to the wall with little hinges on one side, it can be easily opened. I did that with my thermostat.
Amazing tip!! Thanks for sharing!
For trash cans I think Vipp and Wesco are pretty nice. Had undersink trash cans before and not a fan of a smelly cabinet.
Thanks for the tips again! Love the brown on you ♥️
Also for the remotes, I tend to use Velcro and stick them somewhere close but discreet 😉
I don't know how you do this but you ALWAYS come up with the kind of content that I need atm :D Thanks!
I just utilized your tips about making artwork look better by getting some great frames and mats on Facebook marketplace and a few more at ikea and now have a pile of artwork I can’t wait to hang up in my office (that I’m redoing as my Xmas present to me)
Omg I love using FB marketplace for frames!! I’m sure they look amazing! 💕
Omg I LOVE the idea of hiding the speaker in a vase!!! My color theme in my tiny studio is grey with hints of red, and my speaker is blue and obviously doesn't match. I LOVE buying cute vases even though my vase to indoor plant ratio is quite off, but here's another reason for me to buy another cute vase 😂 Thanks!!!
great topic that is not covered much by designers but is an issue for renters and homeowners.thanks for the great ideas !
@@KivaBrent The one in my room was already installed and it even has a remote to turn both fan and overhead light on and off. SOOOO convenient.
Love all of these tips but especially the ones for pets.
Newly subscribed and loving the content❣
Welcome!! Thanks so much :)
I just did the trash can rack because our new dog kept knocking the trash can over and pulling out trash. Only after the trash cans were hidden away was I like 'wow this also just looks a lot better without our garbage for all to see.' Great tip even if you don't have dogs!
Ikea has a great low profile shoe cabinet. HEMNES shoe cabinet. Less than 9 inches deep, great in an entry hall.
Oh wow! I’m
So
Glad I watched this one as well! I have been racking my brain with this problem we have with our microwave and how ugly it is! And now it’s broken so for a temp fix we have the horrible “microwave on our counter” look and yep it’s driving me insane. Now I have TWO! One, a solid white one, that’s broken, above our stove, and one that we are using until we can figure out what to
Do with this whole
Mess!
Love the notes about the doggo toy and bed storage!
It seems like people use Ikea cabinets. I'd search how to make a built in desk. Did you find a solution since your comment was posted?
Doors to Narnia. Love it!!
Nice video! I use a large pretty rustic vase and use it to store my controls 👌🏻
Wow! You took down your Christmas decorations already! Mine will probably be up well into January… maybe Valentine’s Day😜😂🤣
The cord box🙌🏾. I saw that and immediately ordered 3 from Amazon. They came yesterday and what a huge difference. I need one more (it’ll be here Monday), I love them! Thanks, Kiva😊
Love all eleven tips! I will be able to incorporate several of them.
Trash cans recommendation love that idea!.
Thank you for sharing
We ALL need this video!! Thank you.
Thanks for watching Leslie!! 💕
Ahh, the shoes, until they make a product that actually picks up the shoes and puts them in the container, that problem will never be solved with my family lol!
You are best tipster ever! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!! 💕
I would do the track trash can. With the island -- less chance of mice. The covered cord solution is fantastic-- need that.
Wow, lots of ingenious ways to camouflage necessary items we all have
I love your tips and as usual, your enthusiasm! ♥️
Thanks so much Monica! I appreciate you! 💕💕
Such great practical suggestions, as always. Thanks so much and Happy New Year!
Thanks so much Micky! Happy New Year! 💕
I loved part 1 and can't wait to watch part 2!
OMGOSH!!! The ceiling fans! Thank you!!!
Thanks for watching!! 💕
Just ordered a sleek ceiling fan without a lite. The one that came with the house drove me crazy! Great tips!
Thank you for sharing amazing tips Kiva :) ❤️ Happy Holidays,Merry Christmas 🎄
Happy Holidays Pooja!! 💕
Kiva. Your suggestions never fail!!
💕💕💕
Ikea sells under cabinets track system for garbage and it actually looks quite ok. We didn’t use it because it’s too big for us and it took a while to find the right size. But now that we have it we really enjoy using it. I insisted on having a separate compost bin (7L) with a lid from Joseph Joseph that hangs on the inside of the cabinet door for organic waste, so it wouldn’t smell.
Ikea has some really nice shoe cabinets. I'd like to get one for our entryway. They're kind of short in depth so you can't put much on top, but that also means more room in the hallway!
Great ideas. We put our cat toys into a large wooden salad bowl. Easy for cats to get their own toys and looks attractive.
Literally the BEST idea for a decor video 😳😱❣️ i definitely have trouble with some of these!! Saving this vid😊
Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!
Thank you!! 💕
( as if its possible?)thank you Kiva and all ❤❤
Just found you and love your content! *SUBSCRIBED*
Welcome!!! Thanks so much! 💕
The vase tip is a great one!
Great tips! You learn something new everyday!
If you live alone and don't generate much trash, try using a trash bag holder made for an RV. I have a large plastic trash bin under the sink (pull-out), but the bag would be too big for just one person. I attached the small trash bag holder (and small bag) to the inside of the larger bin and now it's perfect!
Love, Love these ideas! Hey to Weiner!
Thank you Kibha. I will try a few of those. Great advice as always. Love your home style. Any chance of a video on painting nd styling mdf wardrobe doors please? Thank you kindly
Shiv (London U. K.)
You always have such excellent ideas!
Thanks so much Nancy! 💕
Thanks for another great video. I have a gorgeous basket full of pet toys that is easy for my dog to take from. The only problem is that she always brings all the toys out and they get scattered all over the floor.
Omg my dog does the exact same thing! He pulls out every single toy 😂😂
Is that a problem? How do your dog (that you love) play with toys that you got that he would love? Time to reassess please.
Good stuff as always Kiva.
Thanks so much Cherise! 💕
Thanks for the tips on the trash cans. I'd given up and just put googly eyes on top of them. RAWR!!!
Very useful Thankyou from Spain
For the TV cable... if you've got a proper height piece of furniture below it (not a super low TV stand) then this will work.
Add a thumbtack or small nail or hook behind the bottom edge of the TV and run the power cords ACROSS the bottom of the screen (but behind).
Run it as far to the end as you need it, then let it hang vertically, where you will then place tall decor in front of it to hide it. I use a picture frame over a stack of books and a candle.
If you've got a super low TV stand, it won't look great since you'd need a tall piece that would look disproportionate.
The best tips! Love your videos
For the dog toys, I think having only 2 out at a time is good. It keeps the clutter down but also you can rotate the toys every week so your dog thinks he's getting new toys all the time 😅
What do you have against fandelier???
