    I think the underdog role is good for the bucks because now they will step up and play the way they need to rather than having the atrocious habit of playing down to the competition. They defiantly overlooked the pacers for a couple of those regular season games and now that no one is giving them a chance, we are going to see a different kind of motivation....well I hope.

    • @warlockmagic3416

      I'd been pissed to have traded Jrue Holiday for that bum. Crazy thing is, Dame was my 3rd best PG in the league the year prior. It's as if he's throwing the season on purpose. It's been strange to watch. I'm wondering if he will not show up purposely in the playoffs now. In hope's it will get him traded. Honestly the Bucks have made some sketchy choices when it comes to their best guards for some reason. Not just giving up on Jrue Holiday, but Malcolm Brogdon. Then letting Grayson Allen walk. Which I know he wasn't able to do as much Defensively. But he's a phenomenal Offensive player and has a huge vertical too. Bucks I believe after they secure a few solid role player's could return to their great form easily. If they focus now on realizing they need to move on from the older guy's. Or at least lessen their roles. Add a younger tested wing, a shooter with some size, trade Dame and get a younger multifaceted PG. Then secure a younger big that can stretch/defend a bit.. I happen to know one who could possibly be on the outside looking in this summer.. Which would be the absolute perfect fit.. 😬 They would become a nightmare. If they add skilled guy's and athletes around Giannis.. They'd be impossible to beat. If I were you guy's I'd still be very happy. Either way on how this season turns out. Because this next off-season will be the start of a new revamp for your Bucks team.. and that will be exciting. Giannis will be even more determined than ever also after losing this year. Which will probably return him to an MVP form all next season. I wish my team had Giannis. Nothing is worse than seeing your team not performing the way you know they can. The Championship year when Giannis won was the most incredible play I've seen from any Superstar player I'd witnessed in my entire life. Lol that dude was possessed. The way he blocked/cuffed an alley oop. Ran down the court blocks a shot. To run down the other end in a sprint with only a few strides for a dunk on the other end.. It was insanity.. and I swear Khris Middleton was playing as if he was an even better, much more efficient version of Kobe Bryant with all his post fades. Even his shots from outside.. everything was falling. I thought right then, Kobe's spirit has entered that man's body. Incredible game, can't remember exactly which one, but I believe they played Boston.

      @@warlockmagic3416Lmao dropped 35 and carried them to a win without Giannis. And they gave up on Brogdon because he was constantly injured and complaining about his role. They won a championship not long after getting rid of him and he’s done nothing of note since (except continue to be hurt a lot). Atrocious take from start to finish man.

    Watching the Bucks this year it seems clear to me Dame still wants to be the number 1 guy and doesnt really accept working with Giannis.
    Giannis and Dame could be the best 2 players are the floor but their chemistry is almost non-existent compared to expectation and it leads to bad vibes that I think hurt the teams success.

    To be fair, they traded for Siakam while Tyrese was hurt. It's hard to tell if the "fall off" from Tyrese is due to the injury or due to having another 20ppg scoring on the team when he returned.

    • @chrisnealis4270
      @chrisnealis4270 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      THANK YOU!! People seem to forget that with Siakam, Tyrese NO LONGER has to do so much of the work. That has had more effect on his numbers than anything.

    • @The_Flamekeepers
      @The_Flamekeepers 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The "fall off" was mostly just a shooting slump as he was working his way back from a hamstring injury.

    • @tonyschimmoeller
      @tonyschimmoeller 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The biggest difference is teams started playing him for his step back. They were forcing him left which makes that step back of his much more difficult. He wasn't driving at all, which could be due to the injury, and because of that his shooting slumped. He's started to drive more and figure out how to counter the defensive adjustment to him.

    • @warlockmagic3416
      @warlockmagic3416 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It doesn't help the fact that they sacrificed their #1 Offense. Playing with Pace & Space was what made them great in the first place. They gave up their closest and only SF "Wing" who was a shooter and most importantly a defense first and drive threat that played with speed. Alongside the best transition player in the NBA in Obi Toppin. Who is a phenomenal quick release 3pt shooter. Who is also the fastest guy on the court and a guaranteed 75/80% at the rim. Along with Hield who even though he had some bad game's, defense had to watch for him. He was an above 40% shooter from 3. While also had hella chemistry with Hali, set ghost screen's and was an underrated creating passer that could also get into the lane at time's. Then we lose Mathurin who is our multifaceted SG/SF who can shoot and drive better than anyone else other than Obi.. The fact that they traded for Pascal is ignorant to me. I'd gladly given Nembhard and Brown the the Raptors with picks and one of Jackson or possibly Smith if I had to.. To have gotten OG.. Because we need a SF wing... Obi, Walker and Smith should have been guy's they wanted to develop. Obi has already gotten much better defensively and whatever strides he does make there will make him an extremely valuable player. He has much more value in my eye's in 2 or 3 year's from now when the rest of this team will be truly ready to compete for real. If we'd had OG, we'd never missed a stride. He'd been slotted in and we'd still have our pace and space.#1 Offense, 7 seconds or less going. Now everything is screwed up. We lost our shooting and all 3 drive threats. While our best transition player, 3pt shooter/slasher is sitting on the bench. So we have a guy in Pascal who likes to dance with the ball and stop flow.. shoots only midrange shots most the time. Isn't scaring anyone in late game situations. Doesn't defend well like what we thought we were trading for in the first place.. Isn't going to get many rebounds, also similar to Myles. Doesn't drive the ball unless the lane is open.. is slow. Now with less shooter's and drive threats traded, or on the bench. No one can get good looks, or get into the lane.. We became a crappy halft-court team overnight. Pascal is a good player, but shouldn't have been for our team. I'm pissed. The fact we never made any efforts to either Draft, or sign any SF's other than Bruce Brown over the past two seasons. When that's what we needed the most.. We draft nothing but guards and Walker.. Missed out on a ton of options I loved in the Draft and FA I said we could have had all along. Don't focus on developing the team we had which gave us the #1 Offense in the league.. Not trying to add defense to it, get a SF wing and or play out this season with the group we had.. Gave Walker playing time.. who's surprisingly proven he could play well at SF. Then add to fix the real issues we need to address in the off-season. In a wing and rebounding.. Instead we throw away the team who was playing great. For an older guys who's not on the rest of the team's timeline. Who won't be here when the rest of the guy's are truly ready to contend. Who will result in you possibly losing the guy's who would have been at the PF position. Believes he's a "Max Contract" player.. Who's not a consistent enough shooter, falls asleep on D.. and only turns up when he wants to. We already have a guy that only turns up when he want's in Turner. This was extremely frustrating to me.. That the Pacers once again aren't looking ahead and seeing the big picture. Instead they want to rush a rebuild and screw up everything that has been a perfect build thus far.. It was a bad move... The only hope is that Obi doesn't walk. If he does I'd be furious. He should have been the guy's they wanted to develop. With Walker and Smith also.. Which now looks as if Smith will be gone for sure now. Makes 0 sense.. We can only hope that Mathurin returns next season and can become a version of what Oladipo was, or a mini version of D-Wade to help propel this team. Not drafting a single SF the past 2 years is baffling to me.. Hell I saw Jalen Williams a mile away. He was in my top 10 to 12 and here no one acted like they saw him coming. Liked Braun, I said use one of our late picks on GG Jackson last year. What do you have to lose.. Nope.. Not sure if Bobi Klintman will be in this year's draft.. But he's another one I've liked. Probably won't draft him though since we have Pascal lol. More of a PF who has SF skills. I'm hella passionate about my team obviously. Hopefully they can add some wing depth and a real solid backup big.. A shooter with some size.. Going to have to completely reinvent ourselves now it feels like. I'd rather had Johnathan Kuminga than Pascal. At least he'd fit our timeline and wouldn't have changed our entire offensive scheme.. would actually play real defense and rotate with some initiative, drive to the basket. Smh lol

    Hey Jason, big fan of the show, # 1 in my opinion.
    Mailbag question: Do you think the NBA should change the play-in format and make 7 play 10 and 8 play 9 instead of the current format? Some benefits of changing this format would be 9 and 10 don't have to win 2 game 7s against 2 different opponents in less than a week just to get into the playoffs and the 7th seed wouldn't risk losing it's place by losing 1 game to the the 8th seed. Specially in seasons that the 7th seed is ahead of the 8th seed by more than 1 game in the standings .

    I think Pacers can take this series. Simply because their intensity will be high. Turner and Pascal only play Defense when they want to. Which notoriously pisses me off.. Pacers are NOT the same team at all whatsoever. We don't play with pace at all like we used to.. Because the ignorant trade for Pascal who i feel we didn't need at all. I'd rather had Obi, Walker and Smith there.. Then an OG at SF/PF.. But we couldn't get him without Raptors wanting one of our young guy's. I'd myself given them Nembhard/Brown and picks.. But to have given Brown away when we didn't get a SF back at all in return. We've played without a Wing since then.. Sucks. Lost our shooting threats in Hield and Mathurin. So now one is shooting 3's well and they can't drive the basketball at all.. Obi on the bench pisses me off.. because we don't get out in transition even more so without him. Time's he's a better defender then Pascal at this point in this season. But thankfully he's still getting his minutes because he's hella efficient on offense and has began to play well with the second unit. Even though it's not been the same since he's not playing with Haliburton, Hield, Brown and Turner anymore. Nesmith could be a good shooter and drive threat. But they don't use him that way. Because I think he has to give so much on the Defensive end. I wouldn't be surprised if they use a lot of Ben Sheppard in that Hield role. As he can be a knockdown quick trigger 3pt threat and surprisingly enough Sheppard has proven he's a great closeout on ball defender in late game situations. Since he's a Rookie though I doubt Rick will play him a lot. He should considering we don't have many other choices.. We'll see, but Pacers will need to speed the pace up despite how Pascal would like to play. Hia style doesn't benefit the rest of our entire time.. Frustrating because I can tell he doesn't like to get out and run apparently. Because they rarely ever do now. The one Bulls game sometime after All-Star I believe it was. That was the one game I saw him really get out and run and our team try and play our normal style with him. He played great D in that game and it was the first time I was honestly impressed with him. He had a massive block on Coby White. That unfortunately didn't end up in a win for us.. DeMar destroyed us in overtime that game. I like Pascal as a player, but I never liked his fit with this particular Pacers team.. But hopefully we can add some pieces this off-season that will help them with more options. As for their Defense and running certain offensive sets as well. Turner is also very frustrating as he only brings intensity in games that matter. He never sets screens and when he does they're half azzed and he NEVER ROLLS to the basket. Tyrese even expressed his frustration with Myles once before. Saying, "I'm used to playing with guy's like Rachuan Holmes that actually set screens and run to the basket. I'll get you the ball for an easy dunk. I've had to get onto Myles before and yell to him, ROLL!" LOL Funny thing is, he still never really does it. I understand he doesn't have the burst of speed other's do. But he could still set a solid screen. Roll towards the basket even for a quick shot, or let Hali cut and pass it back to him. Which we saw some of that recently. I was surprised, because I've never seen it until recent. I thought they just had no idea how to run sets off screen's. 😂 I'd be running high pick n rolls constantly with my bigs. Hali and Nesmith can both shoot off them. Nesmith has been a guy in college who could shoot moving jumpers off screen's. Yet they NEVER make him do it. He was drafted for his ability to do that and his incredible 3pt efficiency. Now he's developed onto a spot up 3 and D guy who can at time's get to the rim with authority. The problem is, without playing with enough pace and losing our shooters in Heild, Mathurin and Brown. Who could also drive the basketball. We don't draw defenses away enough. So it's much harder to get those lanes to the rim and good shots. When you have only one good shooter and another that's only able to spot up shoot the majority. While Pascal doesn't shoot but corner 3s mostly and likes to dance all day with the ball.. It kills any movement and allows defense to stay set. Pascal will need to be a great rebounder, since Myles will be the shooting big on the perimeter. Whether or not they can gang rebound will determine a lot in the playoffs as well when they aren't hitting their shots. They've never been a good rebounding team.. So we need Hali to be making his shots and the other's.
    I feel even though the Pacers are probably more short handed than the Bucks. We do have youth on our side. Enough guy's that know their roles and young athletic bigs that should be able to make this a tough series for a Bucks team without Giannis. If we are able to keep Dame from being Dame.. and Giannis doesn't come back with a vengeance quickly in a game 2 return. Pacers should win this series.. But if the Pacers screw around and lose game 1.. This series could very easily go to the Bucks.. The Bucks are honestly only 2 or 3 solid role player's from being as dangerous as they were before.. Had they never let Grayson Allen walk, or traded Jrue Holiday and added a younger tested wing this off-season. With a 100% healthy Giannis. They'd easily take this series. I'm going to say Pacers in 6, possibly 7 if Giannis returns to elite form.. But neither team is what they should be. I'm truly hoping for my Pacers sake. That by next season, Mathurin will flip a switch and become a version of what Victor Oladipo or a miniature D-Wade was for us. As Mathurin could be what propels us into a true and able contender in the future. I wish we'd stayed with the group we'd had before the trades, if we couldn't gotten OG.. because I don't think you sacrifice and get completely away from what was a #1 Offense to play to a 30 something year old when you're a young team everywhere else.. I believe in Obi Toppin becoming a much better defender than he was early. Which he's already improved a lot. I hate that he gets crapped on there.. Because he's been better than Pascal on D in many stretches. While certain matchups will matter also. He's young and me personally I'd wanted him to felt comfortable and know that I believe in him and want him to be our guy moving forward. The dude is absolutely Elite Offensively and whatever Defensive strides he takes will only make him that much better. I feel he will be a great player. A vital piece to this team and our focus should have been to keep him long term. We should have been focused on development of our young group. Not just making the playoffs. If we do great, I feel we would have had a higher seeding without Pascal this year. If we'd stayed the course.. But they didn't want to believe in the group we had. Ticks me off and the fact they aren't playing Walker. Who has also shown now a solid ability to play the 3 is shocking to me. Smith has been a great backup for Turner and often time's our best Bigman defender. He's been lights out from 3 as well and has the most potential to be the best 10+ rebound guy we have.. Now we will most definitely lose him because of Pascal. Which I think is complete bs. He's not been a great defender. He falls asleep, he's a ball stopper. He affects everyone else's game in a negative way Offensively to me. In the sense we don't play with pace. Despite what number's say. He's not a good enough shooter consistently, doesn't drive the ball enough and want's a Max Contract.. No way. I'd rather have my young PF's. Invest in them and go after a true SF wing. Pay that guy the money. Then maybe go after a SG/SF like a DeRozan that we can truly go to in the clutch. The fact we didn't get OG because we didn't want to sacrifice Nembhard is insanity. No way I'd gave Mathurin, but I'd given him and say Brown/Jackson. Possibly Smith. We done that and we'd never had to sacrifice our style of play and we'd be one of the most dangerous team's in the East. We'd be where the Knicks are or better.. If that and Hali not gotten hurt. Bet. We need Caruso and Drummond too. Lol all Bulls guy's. We could have signed anyone as an extra SF last year, or even drafted one and did nothing. Derrick Jones Jr. was available forever last off-season. He would have been an amazing fit.. Great +/- guy and we let him walk to the Mavs. Even with little money to offer next season they will need to look for a Jones Jr. type, or possibly Caleb Martin who I believe would also be a great pickup. Dude is a lowkey solid 3 and D threat who also likes to get out and run. Can throw down in transition. Been in that Heat culture a long time.. I have a 3 page list of FA's.. So I can't wait to see whay happens this off-season.

    Jason, there are way too many injuries in the East. It was already a weak conference. Giannis is out. Jimmy is out for weeks. Randle is out for the season and Embiid is hobbled at best.
    In such a scenario, if the Celtics win the championship with an absolute monster of a team, would the ring be respected?

      They will lose any games Giannis is not there as Dame is their only scoring threat. They also don't play defense, so this series will be a track meet. These types of games favor the younger and healthier team. Bucks are such a loser franchise for hiring Doc Rivers.

    Dont forget that The Bucks lost Giannis in the ECF agains the Hawks, there was uncertainty about whether he would be able to play in the NBA Finals. He managed to come back from that ankel injury. And dont forget that in that Finals series the Bucks were down 0-2. Giannis managed to bring the Bucks back while on an injured ankel and then closed out the series by dropping 50 points. Becoming just the 7th player to score 50+ points in the NBA Finals.
