    We’d be surprised if you haven’t heard of the Italian giants Ducati. They’re a big deal in the motorcycle world, with heritage stretching back to their origins in 1926 and countless accolades to their name. Rather than designing their flagship Powerstage RR themselves, instead they enlisted the help of Italian eBike specialists Thok to design the Shimano EP801-equipped eMTB. With some high-end components and a striking frame, this red rocket was a bike I was very intrigued to test, and it turned out to be quite an interesting day, even if it wasn't the most successful. Read on to learn about this electric mountain bike and how it performed.

    Loam wolf,have you ridden the original Aluminium TK01-RR ,I reckon it would be a better choice.I have had mine for 2 years and I love it.I haven’t seen or ridden a powerstage but I didn’t think the brakes were a good choice when I saw them on the spec sheet.Interestingly I hated the scorpions when they were new but after about 50 miles to take the new tyre shine off they ride much much better and grip better by a huge amount.Good video all the best

    Ducati Aiming squarely at the middle aged man with disposable income 😂

      Ducati says they are serious about competing in this market so I would not write them off yet. The e bike revolution is massive so good luck to them.

    After watching your video, I just realized that you were running on the Scorpion Enduro S tires. And I was wondering if it would’ve been a huge difference if you were to run a true scorpion EMTB tire. Are even a true scorpion downhill dual wall rated tire, which has a different sidewall. Also, running 4 piston calipers instead of 2 piston calipers probably would have made a difference since E MTB are so much heavier than a regular mountain bike. Also curious to see what size rotors are stocked on the bike. Thanks again for your reviews.

      I presume the components are what the bike comes speed with.
      Expensive bike with crappy components sounds like a terrible idea...

    Too bad about the components. I got the chance to try the Thok Gram RC in April this year and it was planted, smooth, capable and fun. Definitely an up and coming bike brand.

      Would be interesting to test it with different spec for sure. Did you find the frame was very stiff?

      Rode it on the test loop at Riva del Garda bike festival. Felt heavy but planted and the frame just felt nice and compliant. It was my favourite full e ride. @@TheLoamWolf

    Bike looks massively big but I’m guessing Ducati has been seeing the huge growth and profits from the mountain bike community and decided to join the party and start a MTB development team so that they can get some of the money they have been missing out on bike looks good but it’s more of a statement piece just to show how much money you have instead of a real MTB I feel and the price tag is very high

    • @superyamagucci
      @superyamagucci 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      _Bike looks massively big_
      Has to be to support the massive price tag.
      Which I doubt they'll see many people paying, because the only Ducati thing on there is the logo, and they don't even put it on.

  • @ryanmichels2981

    For the low price of approx. $13k, US$, you get a nice looking bike which isn’t as good as its competition. Heck, there’s better bikes for like half the price, but they don’t say ducati on them. So, crappy tires, brakes, and grips, and an outrageous price, maybe they should stick to motorcycles.

    How do ebikes get there rear end compliant enough to be sticky with the motor making the BB area (I assume) super stiff?

    • @TheLoamWolf
      @TheLoamWolf  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Typically there’s more compliance in the chainstays and seatstays. They made this super burly on the Ducati

    Only for Ducati fanboy's, which they'll park it next to their 3 year old Panigale w/ less than 2000 miles, which will get ridden less than 3 times.

    This is just an overpriced, rebadged Thok e bike. Even though I am Italian, I don't support those brands (Thok, Ducati, VR46) because they just saw the market going up and tried to profit, making bad engeneered bikes, and expensive too. By the way kudos for riding Paganella bike park Natural Trails in the wet 👍. I live near that bike park and the rocks are very challenging in those conditions. Cheers from Trentino

    Soon they might make more money from merchandise, just like harley davidson.

      Thanks Glenn, just to clarify if a brand is involved, it is not a review. We consider those product features or “Dissected” series videos. This was neither, it was a non-sponsored product review after some initial ride testing with Ducati staff, which is why we included their interview up front. Hope that helps and thanks for writing in!
