He was genius at picking out songs that highlighted Karen's God-given voice, and crafting their arrangements in the studio. He also composed the music for many of their hit songs. He never seems to get any recognition from the music industry for his contributions. Carpenters sold over 100M records! I hope Richard is blessed with some grandchildren soon!

Moreover, it is well-known that he composed the music of many of the Carpenters songs, and arranged all their material. So the idea that he can't read a note of music is clearly wrong. I do agree he is still a fine pianist, but has recently been in poor health, and has had to cancel a planned concert tour. may he make a full and rapid recovery.

I saw them in hershey pa. And so glad I did. They were both so young and vibrant, the beauty of the Carpenter's was their Sibling Love and respect for each other and their Talent. I miss you Karen, but know your in God's Loving Arms. And thank you Richard for keeping the Memory Alive.
She was taken away from us way too soon, I never knew Ms. Carpenter but I loved her voice, her music and Richard's Piano Accompaniment, I still have a Vinyl Album, no scratches. Thank you, Karen. RIP. May God Bless you. Thank you too, Richard, without you there would have been no "Carpenters".
I really missed karen. I never get the chance to see her live cause sadly i was born right after she left us. But her music took me into her life and her journey.

Your songs lit up our lives in the 70’s and beyond. We sang them in Girl’s Choir too. That first song you play here made our high school reunion “Yesterday Once More”. It truly did!! We had a great time!! Also, I played your ICON CD, and relived those feelings again, and it made me so happy that I bought one for my close current friends and my brother’s friends. I have another favorite album of yours that I need to get out and play.

Thank you Richard. I took a trip today but I took one in 2004 and during the trip I had this huge Karen feeling enter the room; the occupant of this interplanetary craft said "Karen was broken on arrival but she was in recovery on the other side." That's the message.
