- In this video we go magnet fishing in the Manchester Canals with youtubers Drasticg and Curbexuk. We start of at the Giants basin Canal engineer James Brindleys overflow. Just in Manchester near the Rochdale Canal and the Bridgewater Canal. Do we find anything Magnets fishing ? well as it happens, very little. As our magnet fishing skills are not good. Just for fun. A plug was featured in one of martins videos, but it seems you have to drain the canal first before you can pull it, as the weight of the water prevents it from being pulled out !!!!

How someone can fall off one side of a railing when they are practically on the other side is beyond me but it was hilarious. Top man.
I'm still laughing at that move - and I watched the video an hour ago ha ha! I've got to watch it again though. It's just one of those moments made for live tv really isn't it?

loved watching you 'climb ' the fence..... such poise and grace Martin..... especially after watching Rachelle manage the same fence in a ladylike and safe fashion... my wife actually came over to see what I was laughing so hard at. plus the magnet clamping onto the fence on your back swing was also hilarious. and Connor....a bit of a late night lad? ... yes well , tie the rope to something next time there young feller.
Lets just say apart from Rachelle, we were hopeless 😆
Brilliant.. I lived on the canal for a few years and did a fair bit of magnet fishing meself.. Found lots of Windlass's.. Some modern and a few very old hand made ones.. But the best thing I ever pulled out of the cut was a Labrador... Which just jumped straight back in again. 😂
Scaffolders really aren't very good at not dropping their equipment.
I was waiting to see when a bicycle was going to get pulled out, wasn't disappointed ☺
My first attempt at underwater video didn't exactly go well, all I found was the blumin remains of the Hindley & Platt Bridge railway station platform 😟

There's barely a better way to spend time on an otherwise somewhat boring sunday afternoon with a Martin-Zero-Video.
Looks as if you'd all had a lot of fun as well. And I like the style _not_ to edit out any little mishap. That makes it more realistic ... and -Yes- more fun to look.
Due to the videos I feel somewhat "at home" in Manchester already, even though I'd never been there.
The videos are not only entertaining but show a lot interesting stuff and surprising lot of funny details as well.
I do really appreciate the lot of work you put into it. As said from others already: for my taste they are worth been shown on the TV primetime. Maybe ARTE would do ... ?

Have seen so many vids of this hobby. Kinda wanted to get into it for a while but the magnets their kinda shocking on the price. Seen a lot of Gareth's vlogs on magnet fishing and seen hes had some crazy finds. One important point, don't forget to remove things from the magnet when you go home. I forgot once, and had somebody's narrowboat hanging up in my garage for weeks before I realised.

We don’t need permits and Gareth (Drasticg) went back as he always does and collects the junk and takes it to a scrapyard
