YES! Couple of years ago, a male colleague of mine had a "funny" comment that sounded like " when's your arm waxing appointment" like he was joking. I gave him a side eye, and suggested that he can treat his wife like that, if she lets him. I mean, WTF! Since when is that a norm? I like my arms waxed sometimes, but i don't feel like it's a must. I actually had the opposite insecurity when it came to armpit hair. I’m 26 years old now and have never once grown armpit hair. When I was in my teens I used to be so insecure that I didn’t have any because all my friends were getting it and when learning about puberty I was told of course about body hair being a part of it so when it never came I just kept thinking how something was wrong with me and that I was not a women if I never got it. I’m thankful for it now though.

Sad as it is, miscarriages happen so very often. Not to slighten the impact they have on the individual mother to be, but I feel like knowing just how common it is, would lessen the guilt, and the persistent "why" in the back of your head. And make you feel less alone and ashamed.
Yeah. It's good that she's talking about it. It's really hard to go through when u wanted the baby or started working through the process of being a new parent. Good for her on being honest. For me, I'd be too devastated to open a maternity swim suit if it happened to me. Also, pregnancy isn't something every woman can easily do without risks, like myself. So, it depends. Worth noting that Billie is cleaner and more environmentally friendly than DSC, and donates a portion of their proceeds to charitable causes. they are also a similar price, and I like how with Billie you have that smoothing soap on the razors, and I did miss that when I was using mens razors like dollar shave, so I ended up switching to Billie

Advertising those shoes as machine-washable is interesting, because I've never had a pair of tennis shoes that WASN'T machine-washable. All my nikes and stuff I just pull out the insoles and toss in the wash!

I agree for tennis shoes, but it is a huge deal for flats! I wear flats a lot (teacher) and they get pretty smelly without socks, but these can just go in the wash with my other clothes.

You and Lisbug need to do a "made in the US" total outfit search! All this stuff, be it fast fashion or not, is invariably made in China, the Philippines, Vietnam, etc. See if you can actually put together whole outfits of made in the US, I promise it would be interesting!
I think the real challenge would be to do that on a budget. There is many companies that do US made clothing.. The price though is a bit higher, since labor and taxes are not China, Thailand etc level.
Washable shoes doesn't mean they're anti-spots and mud, etc... it means if theh get some dust thriught iut the week or their color gets darker, you wash them.. i actually do wash my sneakers if they're made of clothes.
Man, I feel like those washable shoes would be really good for healthcare workers right now though. Get home, throw them in the wash, they're ready and disinfected.
@@Grinch2002 No, shoes should not be washed in the washing machine. If it's leather or fake leather, you need to use proper leather products (for leather moisturising cleaners are a must), if it's canvas shoes like converse, don't wash them at all, most have some paper in between the layers to keep it's shape and when you wash them they can loose shape. If it's sneakers for sport you can wash them on low temperature to get rid of smells but at your own risk. NB, Nike, Adidas should not be washed since sometimes they have leather and the shape/colour/size might change after washing. At the end of the day do whatever you want with your shoes but keep in mind that you might ruin them. I've worked in a shoe store for a year so I know what I'm talking about, also I have ruined 2 pairs of shoes by washing them in the machine
Hair is hair. Beard hair is not 'tougher' than some people's body hair, or pubic hair. Manufacturers just make shittier razors when it comes to women's razors because women will buy into the gendering of a tool and will be using them on their bodies. So cuts, razor burns and badly cut hairs are not going to be noticed or cared about as much as a man whose shaving his FACE (where the skin is also more sensitive). There are no mens razors or womens razors. There's just good razors with metal handles, manly names and 5+ blades and shit pink razors with plastic handles and 1-2 (MAX 3) blades.
cartridge razors generally are pretty meh~, in my opinion. I'm currently using a safety razor for my legs, which is the exact same model as the one my friend uses for his beard, and it works fine for either of us. To make armpit hair disappear the way it was shown in the ad, you'll have to use some kind of shaving liquid (not just water and absolutely not a dry shave) and probably a safety or straight razor. also cartridge razors produce so much unnecessary waste
i just buy whatever razor is cheap. i only shave my armpits bc i don't like my deodorant clumping up in the hair. shaving is a waste of time if it takes longer than two seconds.
For the shoes, add some towels to the wash with them. They need agitation to get really clean, and the delicate cycle has less agitation than other cycles. ;)
Those are cute shoes! Unfortunately "washable" and "stain resistant" aren't the same. It sounds like they're just constructed in a way to help them not break down as quickly through washing. 🤔
Sarah LaApple yes! You still have to use a good detergent to get rough stains out. Wish she would’ve used an effective laundry detergent instead of the mild one.
Totally agree! If she would have done that to a white t shirt it would also stain and you can't claim that the white t-shirt isn't machine washable just because the stains didn't come out!

I really like some of cupshe's swimsuits so I scoured online thrift apps for the one I wanted and I got it!! Feels like a regular swimsuit, nothing remarkable, but still good quality! The top was a bit small and the bottom was a bit large because you can only get it in one size. It's super cute though and I got it for less than half the original price in a more sustainable way!
raisin net I personally own 3 Cupshe swimsuits. They are very good quality, not see through at all and they last pretty good! If you ever wanna try it I would 100% recommend them.
I bought a cupshe suit in 2016 and it's been washed, in pools and at the beach & dirty lakes plenty of times. Held up nice. Love their high waisted bottoms

Just a word of advice- If and when you decide to clean the stains off of the Rothy's (?) shoes- don't use bleach. Use Oxiclean stain remover- it works wonders. Straight up or even diluted bleach will turn your whites yellow. Love you! 🥰

as a long time user of billie and dollar shave club i can say go with dollar shave club lasts 12x as long. the only thing better about billie is that its aesthetic.
As someone who'd only used middle range disposable razors until recently, I've personally been really loving my Billie razor. I shaved my legs for the first time since last summer and it sailed through the hair like a dream.

I have a pair of those washable shoes and they are meant to be washable in the sense of every day dirt. Like discoloration over time of wearing them, not deliberately scrubbing mud stains into the fabric.
yeah, they are washable in the sense that they CAN be washed, you can just throw them in the washing machine, or take out just the insoles and wash them, and with a lot of other shoes you CAN'T do that, a lot of other shoes will be ruined by washing them/shrink etc. But I don't think they ever really claimed they were like dirtproof/stain proof or anything like that.

@@tovaskogstrom6287 probably because this brand is higher end and sustainable. Most higher end shoes don't tout that they are meant for everyday wear. They prefer exclusivity. I know the cast majority of my shoes are not washable, as in throw in your machine. The ones that are machine washable aren't nicer shoes. Just sneakers.
I did Dollar Shave Club and Billie, they're about the same price, but I thought that the Billie razors let the long leg hairs pass through the back of the razor better. The Dollar Shave Club had the 'hair graveyard' built up on the back of the blades.
Tip for cleaning white shoes: take an old toothbrush and scrub them with a paste of baking soda and water. Let them sit out on the sun. When they dry, rinse them off.
sierra: that blue swimsuit looks really really nice on you. Having the better quality and the better construction really makes such a difference with swimwear!!! I started getting athleta swimwear and I'll just get one each year and I love that so much more than having multiple cheaper swimwear each year! I would definitely recommend trying a different swimsuit design and see if the straps work better for you!!
I keep getting ads from "noom" 🙄 before and after trying. I struggle/ed with bulimia for years and they tell you to weigh yourself every morning. That got dangerous for me fast, I was back to withholding food all day and binge/purging at night. A month of no results and almost 3 weeks of terrible backsliding into my ED. I still haven't gotten back to a healthy place and it has been several months. I see/hear "noom" ads multiple times a day and it's like a reminder of how I failed and still am failing every day. Trying to flag the ads has done nothing. :( shouting into the void.
ED is difficult enough, but having something promise perfection just feeds it. My love, you are wonderful the way you are and I pray you can have peace in the beautiful person you are.
I can absolutely relate to you here! I "failed" at noom too. I used to be anorexic and the constant weighing and "well you must be doing this wrong" attitude was not helpful.
I heard that somebody types things into google like: I dislike noom, noom is shitty, I hate noom. And if you do that a bunch of time they did not get the ad that they typed it for anymore. Maybe this is the case for you and it can help you. I hope so!!

It's taken me years to really embrace my body hair but honestly (whoddathunkit) it actually feels super normal at this point that I don't shave (its been about a year). Most people don't comment at all and I actully find a lot of women ask very positive questions out of curiosity if they do ask! I hope you find the confidence to try it if it is something you would like to do :)
I have two pairs of Rothys (red flats and black sneakers) and absolutely love them. I think the best part about being washable is that you don't have to wear socks with them. I've never liked wearing socks, especially with flats but they always get so smelly and the fact that these can be washed takes care of that problem. 👌

“Washable shoes”...is sticking your trainers into the washing machine lost on either America or the slightly (SLIGHTLY!!!) younger generation? We always used to shove our trainers in the wash if they got bunked.
It really depends on the shoes and how they're made. Some adhesives will weaken so the shoes can come apart in the wash, others will be fine. Obviously, "washable shoes" doesn't mean that stains come out easier, it's just a guarantee that they will survive the washing machine.

The mud should come out of all rotheys. Any rotheys that are a color just come out in the wash. But since these are white it will involve a little bit of scrubbing. With soap or oxy clean or what not. But it should still come out!
I LOVE My Rothy’s!!!!! I am a wedding photographer. So comfortable stylish shoes are a giant must. Trust me the end of a 8-10hr wedding day my feet literally want to fall off. Rothy’s have become a huge thing in the wedding photography industry. So many people swear by them. My feet are just a normal amount of tired instead of literal death after using these. Also no blisters.

For the razor segment of this, my armpits look like that regularly lol but when I do decide to shave I use a safety razor! It takes off all my hair in like 3 swipes max, and I have thick black hair, it’s more environmentally friendly since all the pieces are metal and the razors can then be recycled, but it’s also cheaper! Although it’s a about a 50-70 initial investment the replacement razors you can get like 100 for a dollar and they’re double sided! Just my random two cents

I still use my Venus razor. Pretty sure I’ve been using Venus since I started shaving. Also, I think if you would have pre-treated those stains, the shoes would have come out clean. I buy the Oxiclean laundry spray.

I’ve used both and personally I like DSC better. I find the blades last longer with DSC and I have less cuts from them.

Advertising those shoes as machine-washable is interesting, because I've never had a pair of tennis shoes that WASN'T machine-washable. All my nikes and stuff I just pull out the insoles and toss in the wash!

I agree for tennis shoes, but it is a huge deal for flats! I wear flats a lot (teacher) and they get pretty smelly without socks, but these can just go in the wash with my other clothes.

I think the real challenge would be to do that on a budget. There is many companies that do US made clothing.. The price though is a bit higher, since labor and taxes are not China, Thailand etc level.
Washable shoes doesn't mean they're anti-spots and mud, etc... it means if theh get some dust thriught iut the week or their color gets darker, you wash them.. i actually do wash my sneakers if they're made of clothes.

If it's leather or fake leather, you need to use proper leather products (for leather moisturising cleaners are a must), if it's canvas shoes like converse, don't wash them at all, most have some paper in between the layers to keep it's shape and when you wash them they can loose shape. If it's sneakers for sport you can wash them on low temperature to get rid of smells but at your own risk. NB, Nike, Adidas should not be washed since sometimes they have leather and the shape/colour/size might change after washing. At the end of the day do whatever you want with your shoes but keep in mind that you might ruin them. I've worked in a shoe store for a year so I know what I'm talking about, also I have ruined 2 pairs of shoes by washing them in the machine
men's razors are designed to go through beards. so they're generally stronger.

Hair is hair. Beard hair is not 'tougher' than some people's body hair, or pubic hair. Manufacturers just make shittier razors when it comes to women's razors because women will buy into the gendering of a tool and will be using them on their bodies. So cuts, razor burns and badly cut hairs are not going to be noticed or cared about as much as a man whose shaving his FACE (where the skin is also more sensitive). There are no mens razors or womens razors. There's just good razors with metal handles, manly names and 5+ blades and shit pink razors with plastic handles and 1-2 (MAX 3) blades.
cartridge razors generally are pretty meh~, in my opinion. I'm currently using a safety razor for my legs, which is the exact same model as the one my friend uses for his beard, and it works fine for either of us. To make armpit hair disappear the way it was shown in the ad, you'll have to use some kind of shaving liquid (not just water and absolutely not a dry shave) and probably a safety or straight razor.

i just buy whatever razor is cheap. i only shave my armpits bc i don't like my deodorant clumping up in the hair. shaving is a waste of time if it takes longer than two seconds.

I really like some of cupshe's swimsuits so I scoured online thrift apps for the one I wanted and I got it!! Feels like a regular swimsuit, nothing remarkable, but still good quality! The top was a bit small and the bottom was a bit large because you can only get it in one size. It's super cute though and I got it for less than half the original price in a more sustainable way!

Just a word of advice- If and when you decide to clean the stains off of the Rothy's (?) shoes- don't use bleach. Use Oxiclean stain remover- it works wonders. Straight up or even diluted bleach will turn your whites yellow. Love you! 🥰

as a long time user of billie and dollar shave club i can say go with dollar shave club lasts 12x as long. the only thing better about billie is that its aesthetic.

I have a pair of those washable shoes and they are meant to be washable in the sense of every day dirt. Like discoloration over time of wearing them, not deliberately scrubbing mud stains into the fabric.

yeah, they are washable in the sense that they CAN be washed, you can just throw them in the washing machine, or take out just the insoles and wash them, and with a lot of other shoes you CAN'T do that, a lot of other shoes will be ruined by washing them/shrink etc. But I don't think they ever really claimed they were like dirtproof/stain proof or anything like that.

@@tovaskogstrom6287 probably because this brand is higher end and sustainable. Most higher end shoes don't tout that they are meant for everyday wear. They prefer exclusivity. I know the cast majority of my shoes are not washable, as in throw in your machine. The ones that are machine washable aren't nicer shoes. Just sneakers.

I did Dollar Shave Club and Billie, they're about the same price, but I thought that the Billie razors let the long leg hairs pass through the back of the razor better. The Dollar Shave Club had the 'hair graveyard' built up on the back of the blades.
Tip for cleaning white shoes: take an old toothbrush and scrub them with a paste of baking soda and water. Let them sit out on the sun. When they dry, rinse them off.

I started getting athleta swimwear and I'll just get one each year and I love that so much more than having multiple cheaper swimwear each year! I would definitely recommend trying a different swimsuit design and see if the straps work better for you!!
I keep getting ads from "noom" 🙄 before and after trying. I struggle/ed with bulimia for years and they tell you to weigh yourself every morning. That got dangerous for me fast, I was back to withholding food all day and binge/purging at night. A month of no results and almost 3 weeks of terrible backsliding into my ED. I still haven't gotten back to a healthy place and it has been several months.
I see/hear "noom" ads multiple times a day and it's like a reminder of how I failed and still am failing every day. Trying to flag the ads has done nothing. :( shouting into the void.
ED is difficult enough, but having something promise perfection just feeds it. My love, you are wonderful the way you are and I pray you can have peace in the beautiful person you are.
I can absolutely relate to you here! I "failed" at noom too. I used to be anorexic and the constant weighing and "well you must be doing this wrong" attitude was not helpful.
I heard that somebody types things into google like: I dislike noom, noom is shitty, I hate noom. And if you do that a bunch of time they did not get the ad that they typed it for anymore. Maybe this is the case for you and it can help you. I hope so!!

Most people don't comment at all and I actully find a lot of women ask very positive questions out of curiosity if they do ask! I have two pairs of Rothys (red flats and black sneakers) and absolutely love them. I think the best part about being washable is that you don't have to wear socks with them. I've never liked wearing socks, especially with flats but they always get so smelly and the fact that these can be washed takes care of that problem. 👌

It really depends on the shoes and how they're made. Some adhesives will weaken so the shoes can come apart in the wash, others will be fine. Obviously, "washable shoes" doesn't mean that stains come out easier, it's just a guarantee that they will survive the washing machine.

The mud should come out of all rotheys. Any rotheys that are a color just come out in the wash. But since these are white it will involve a little bit of scrubbing. With soap or oxy clean or what not. But it should still come out!
I LOVE My Rothy’s!!!!! I am a wedding photographer. So comfortable stylish shoes are a giant must. Trust me the end of a 8-10hr wedding day my feet literally want to fall off. Rothy’s have become a huge thing in the wedding photography industry. So many people swear by them. My feet are just a normal amount of tired instead of literal death after using these.

For the razor segment of this, my armpits look like that regularly lol but when I do decide to shave I use a safety razor! It takes off all my hair in like 3 swipes max, and I have thick black hair, it’s more environmentally friendly since all the pieces are metal and the razors can then be recycled, but it’s also cheaper! Although it’s a about a 50-70 initial investment the replacement razors you can get like 100 for a dollar and they’re double sided! Just my random two cents

I've tried Billie. As someone with extremely sensitive skin with a lot of excess body hair (face/neck), it is soooo much healthier on my skin than the DSC. I recommend for people like me.

Washing your shoes breaks down the glue in them and they’ll fall apart faster. It’s better to get a shoe cleaner and use that on them.

My vans and Adidas have been washed so many times and lasted for 10 years... I honestly thought all fabric shoes were washable 😂😂
