The thing that sets Jeselnik apart to me is that he plays the devil incarnate. His jokes aren’t actually offensive because he’s not playing it like he’s in the right, or ‘just joking around’, he’s playing it like he’s evil and so it’s funny.
Anthony is the master of diversion, aversion, and subversion. This is why he can get away with being 90% setup and 10% punchline. The punchline is always worth it.
Thats because things are only "too far" when they aren't funny. In Anthony's jokes, comedy always comes first. It's not shock value for shock values sake. Dudes great.

The Brits have great taste in comedians. They love Stanhope, and Bill Hicks. Jimmy Carr loves Jeselnik, Frankie Boyle loves Maria Bamford. These arent household main stream comedians, but they are very good. I wish these guys would do Dave Atell, who writes very cleverly, I think theyd enjoy him.
He adds a step to the format he has a set up then a misdirection that you think is the punchline then the real punchline that changes the joke completely and makes it where even the darkest mind can't guess the punchline
This switching the meaning in the last few words of a one liner is exactly what late 80's and 90's comedienne Wendy Liebman used to do. Anthony Jeselnik is the M. Night Shyamalan of comedy. You know there's gonna be a twist in the end, and once people expect the twist it's harder to make it work.
