Eh... Only from a musical perspective, not really from the perspective of how our society is today and has shaped out since the release of this song. Our society today is 100% comfortably numb with the opioids, anxiety medications, antidepressants being pumped out into the masses by doctors paid off by prescription companies to do their bidding instead of allowing humans to medicate through nature. Also the fentanyl on the streets should not go without being brought up. The premise of this song would be very relevant to today's times, this sort of self medication through the means of drugs and prescriptions were much more frowned upon or viewed in a taboo light by most of the public when this song was released.
This is simply a track of pure beauty. I think that if Pink Floyd had only ever recorded "Comfortably Numb" and nothing else, then they'd still be considered as one of the greatest bands of all time 🧡
I just rode out Milton in my mobile home in Tampa. I wanted to leave but lady roomate didn't and I wasn't about to leave her alone (platonic relatationship only) but still!!! I was nervous but faithful until 1:00AM, when by the grace of God, it became totally quiet! No more wind or rain pelting my home!!! You can trust and believe that I did my fair share of getting "Comfortably Numb" for several hours! Amen Lord and Pink Floyd!!! Thank you @AudioPhil !!!
My personal “is there a record actually there?” test is zero surface noise during the fade and barely audible needle drops, this record almost passes but it’s a high benchmark to achieve. Phil has a great track record.
I got a first pressing of The Wall a few months ago and throwing that baby on my RT-82 for the first time was like listening to the album all over again.
Great quality, thanks for the upload. It proves that vinyl can sound very good indeed. As for what's the best format, I guess that's really a matter of preference. Personally I'm mainly in the lossless digital file camp, the balance of convenience, cost and quality suits me well.
I agree about the cost. But to me, part of listening is taking the album out, carefully putting it on the turntable, listening to it while reading looking at the album cover. Most people talk about liner notes but CDs have those. I grew up listning to music that way so that's part of it. What still is lost is going to the record store either looking for that brand new album or one that I never got.

A turntable like the SL-1200G or SL1210GAE and even the SL-1200GR are all three made in Japan .... And you can use them around the clock for dozens of years ... They'll never quit ... SL-1200MK7 only and SL-1500C are MADE IN MALAYSIA and in terms of quality they are not at all like ours I can guarantee you ....
@@m.4188 Years ago Japanese companies made their hifi products in Japan. I cringe when I see Made in China or Malaysia. To me, it is an insult for turntables, receivers, CD players, etc. to be made anywhere but Japan. China is garbage.
