    In the Appalachian mountains we dug a hole 3ft deep and if we lost power in the winter the freezer contents went into the hole and was covered with something heavy to keep the critters out 👍

      @PrepperDale I would 😂 even where you are , just dig the hole in the summer and if you have a lot of bears 🐻 consider an elevated cash 💯👍 if it's a matter of survival, you'd be surprised what you can accomplish 👍💯

    My fridge is a Kenmore. It is a side by side fridge and freezer and is 24 years old. I have replaced all of the other appliances in my kitchen except that one. As far as a heater is concerned I have found that it helps a lot to have a good-looking fellow in the house!

    Here in Florida when we have hurricanes frig will stay cold 4 to 8 hrs if you keep the door closed. The freezer is good 2 days if it's full and about 1 day if it's half full.

    Fridge schmidge, what about a heater? In the winter, it's easy to keep everything cold because it's probably around the 40's (fridge temp.) you can keep it in a camping cooler outside or in cardboard boxes up high so critters don't get into it, whatever works. On a table in the garage, in a doggie crate, whatever is convenient.
    I want to know how long a little space heater might last in a small bedroom or closed off little kitchen.
    Basically a one room little heating device. Crank it up on high for about 10 minutes to get the chill out of the air, and then on and off as needed. Maybe do some jumping jacks between heat bursts lol. Cook some beans and keep yourself warm for pete's sakes! Anyway, I like the electric storage (generator) doohicky it's neat. I would take it camping or to the beach, plug in something and relax.

    • @PrepperDale
      @PrepperDale  18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@brendat7346 just check how many Watts the heater uses ! My Generator is 1024 Watt hours, so if the heater uses 1000 ( 1024 ) watts , it would run steady for 1 hr. Or you could run it 15 minutes 4 times !! 😺😃🎅

    15+ years for a refrigerator is excellent. Built to last. We have one that is 5 years old. Just in the last two years the owner has put in more dollars in repairs than a brand new one that cost $3000.00

    You can find the cooler that your referring to at Walmart sometimes but they're mostly sold at truck stops and they are big .
    They heat or cool and usually plug into an inverter but you can get a cord that plugs into a cigarette lighter .
    They are over $200 and usually will last almost 2 years . Brand name is Coleman or Igloo . 👍
    There are newer ones made for campers that are solar generator powered that are both a fridge and a freezer but are over $1000.

      @@B.Dazzeled-cj4ss Yeah ! That’s it and they would work well with a Solar generator! Lots of those folks who live / camp in vans , RVs have them . I think that would ba a good investment if you had Meds that had to be kept cold !! 🥶 Thanks !! 😃😺🎅
