Happy New Year to you too Christine! And well done on the counter gap solution, the wooden counters look very good, that kitchen is gonna be beautiful when it's finished! The dogs are so cute and Shiva opening her gift 😍
I would consider the temperature fluctuations with the pipes outside, keeping in mind pipes would need insulating, and obviously if the country regulations allow, we have ours running from our gas stove on a gas regulated hose going into a cupboard with a key hole inlet to the bottle, with an air vent on front of the cupboard door, but ideally the bottle should be outside. Let us know what is allowed there.😊
Yes, and there's that! The temps outside. In hindsight I should've planned for them inside, but always thought I would have them outside. The position on the camino side wall is the real big issue though - making that distance so much further. It appears pretty much anything goes (with pinch of salt) here as to gas. Copper for anything above 3 meter in distance - but whether in- or outside - both acceptable. I have pivoted for now (already!) so we'll see what happens in future or if this is sustainable. In theory, I could still move one of the cupboards I have not yet attached to the wall - so all is not quite lost ;)
Happy New year again🎉🎉🎉, natural will always get a 👍from me, I used a bees wax seal on my kitchen cupboards as I had used chalk paint, it is a beautiful product to work with, but needs regular maintenance as it not water proof long term, let us know how this holds up to water spills, in the end after a few years of resealing, 😂 I ended up repainting the cupboards with washable Matt gloss, tops we have granite due to high water use around the sink. Nothing is undoable if you find you want a change later, like the curtains, dresses the room giving it a chique finished look.😊
Yes! My original plan was for granite - tbh I've never actually had wooden counters (and I'm still getting used to them) I prefer granite/caesar stone - but the wood was a lot cheaper so the plan is perhaps to exchange in about 3 years :) And exactly - nothing is undoable - thank you! x
@GirlMeetsFarm Sure, personally I love wood, but because we have so much moisture and use our kitchen alot we went with granite, I did look around and managed to get some end of range off cuts, which worked out much more affordable, maybe something to think about, if you do change in the future, also I understand when renovating a whole house on a budget costing is everything, you don't want to over capitalise or over personalise, especially wrt to a colour palette in case of future salability.
Christine May 2025 be good to you and wishing you continued success and happiness with all your tasks still in progress🎉 Wow, you really tackled so many tasks over the last few weeks...those kitchen cupboards really look amazing....the white with the black handles and the rich looking dark wooden counters. Well planned and well done. Yes, quite surprising that there are no stricter gas compliance rules. The curtains give your room a much more homelier feel too. Good going. The Air Ring....now that is something I know you would be very excited about....would like to hear your report on the functioning in a future video. Shakti and Shiva were so excited to open their gifts on Christmas day too😊 The sieve/net door is looking very good. Well done for making a plan that's working. Wishing you much strength and looking forward to updates on your progress in the next video!🎉😊
Aaaw, merci beaucoup Emmanuelle! That is very kind of you x Winter is in full swing and the temperatures have certainly dropped more - the fire is lovely and cozy. Stay warm! x
So far so good, Mark - however - Loki is quite a clever boy (the black cat) and I have found him this side of that screen door twice now - hopefully he does not teach the others! haha I did train the dogs, but Loki watched - haha
The counter gap solution looks beautiful 👍 .
I loved seeing Shiva open her Christmas present , they are two lovely dogs ❤️😍
Thank you! makes my heart happy!
When you use an oil after about 4 hours, you need to take a soft cloth (cheesecloth) and wipe it back to remove the excess. It's looking beautiful
Thanks Kathy! I did - but not having ever done that before, I don't think I did it well enough - lesson learned! :) x

May 2025 be a good year for you.😊
Thank you so much Helen! x
Are those walnut countertops?
They are walnut colour yes - but they are the counters from Ikea - which means mostly OSB and a very thin (3mm!) actual wood on top of that. :)
@@GirlMeetsFarmoh I see. Love the coloring.
if your dogs can figure out how to get in, then the cats will soon figure it out too. Don't underestimate them
So far so good, Mark - however - Loki is quite a clever boy (the black cat) and I have found him this side of that screen door twice now - hopefully he does not teach the others! haha I did train the dogs, but Loki watched - haha
So not interested in watching an infomercial. . Go back to your work. Bye
