I remember this one very well. Fall of 87. He and Mr. Keith Sweat released classic albums during the same time. Sweat simply took the number 1 spot of New Jack Swing royalty and T.Terry got lost in the shuffle. Nothing like the late 80's r&b/hip hop and rock scene.
Damn I miss when songs like this would give you that feel GOOD type feeling! And you felt it from the words all the way to the groove of the music! What happened to music like this? The best era of music has got to be from the 60's - late 90's to very early 00's. It's like the singers nowadays don't even care anymore how they make you feel when they put out music. They just care about the money & the fame. So sad...
Wow, this song reminds me of my college days...when you had your cassette deck & wrote down all the words until you knew them off by heart!! crack me up...priceless memories...I loved Tony Terry when I was a teenager!!!
At least I can come to TH-cam and find real music from my generation still. I thought my ears were going be glued shut because they're full of hearing today's garbage. Thank you for relieving my pain.
So well said! I completely agree!! I'm so glad I'm part of the generation that grew up with music in the 80s and 90s. Most (not all) of today's music is a travesty.
+prospectboy man last time I listened to whole "album" was hunter army airfield, savanah ga. and that was on cassette, summer 88 and my 86 chevrolet hatchback spectrum. wow the memories
These kinda choons were carefree & sweet. They meant alot to me,that I can't wipe dem outta my head. Lyrics were strong & da music held it altogether. Finding dis Choon took time (since 87),but back dem you couldn't d/l, so vinyl it was. I do have it on vinyl, but d/l would prove difficult. Thxs for bringing back those memories:D)))
I'm vibing to it in 2013, amarzan95!!! I remember when this song came out when I was in my late-teens-to-twenties, and it NEVER gets old!!! I LOVE Tony Terry and QUALIFIED artists of his genre and era! Play ON Playa' ... Play On. And I'll keep right-on "Head-Boppin' "!!!
I remember this one very well.

With his voice he should have been a major star. This and with you are musical gems
He was mis managed. His songs abd sound were generic synthesized copycats of the time. No one realized his voice was ahead of his time. Shame too
Man I remember this underrated jam. 1988-1995 A great period of R&B Jams and the introduction of New Jack Swing!
That bass is funky as "funk"
One of the best from those days! Makes my endorphins flow!
