Traditional Christmas tune "Greensleeves" played on traditional folk instrument. Isaac Geslison- Guitar Casey Geslison- Octave Mandolin Ellie Geslison- Fiddle Alina Bagely- Fiddle Jacob Bagely- Accordion
When I was a little tyke about 7 or so, my sister would play this on the piano and it would make me teary eyed because the melody was so haunting. Greensleeves was probably the first non-Gospel piece of music that moved me on a deep emotional level.
William Chatterton Dix adapted it to a hymn in 1865 and set to the tune of "Greensleeves". But yet, it original origin is unknown. Somewhere back to the Elizabethan era in Britain.
My mother played this some 40 years ago when I was 8yo, I made friends with the neighbor lady who was in her 80s at the time and I told my mom that she had a piano. We went over just before Christmas to take some cookies and my mom played this for her as a gift as the lady couldn't play due to arthritis. I didn't even know at the time my mom could play the piano.
I Walked down the Aisle to this to be Merried with my Beautiful Man Kevin Eyre in 1996 we are still together we now have a Beautiful Family to join us delighting in the Beautiful Melodies. Just a shame about the advert sounds lol 🎶💚🌻💚

Not only the melody is moving. Also the words express desire after the lost beloved one. These two combined together make this piece heartbreaking - and soothing at the same time. Thanks for excellent performance!
Beautiful! The accordion was a nice surprise. It blends in well, and, like the other instruments it is portable. Thank you all. This was a classic treat.
My mother died and i have struggled to find as close as she sang and played thank you for playing as she would you all do justice let me or US sing with you ❤💯❤️🏰
Honey, your mother is there with you. Look at the little coincidences that brings her to mind. Celebrate the happy times you had with her. I think my mother is my guardian angel. Believe me, she doesn't want you beating yourself up over shoulda/ coulda/woulda. 💖
I feel blessed to have stumbled upon this performance. Truly wonderful! I love the counter melody to start the piece and how it weaves throughout the arrangement. Stunningly beautiful!
Thank you so very much for sharing this absolutely beautiful version of this classic song, this was outstanding, such amazing talent, God Bless you all.
I have so many memories of this lovely song. I used to sing this and loved that medley. This was performed with authenticity, o a beautiful ensemble of instruments, perfectly played, so melodious and melancholy at the same time. What a pleasure to listen to gifted musicians caressing music out of their beloved instruments and blending those sounds into a harmonious whole. This was soothing to my soul, thank you!
This is one of the very best instrumental version of "Greensleeves / What Child is This" ! I loved the enchanting, celtic harmonization of the instruments, as well as the smiles on their faces!
Does TH-cam know that I am England as I watch this? Just arrived in Norfolk then this beautiful moment popped into my feed. How much do I love this? Let me count the ways.

Did it sound like a cacophony of horribly distorted bells Mr. Whippy?
If so I think you may have been down my street.
