There are 2 reasons for Elvis' movements & "bouncing." Firstly, he felt the music very strongly & as we can hear, he sang every song w-tremendous emotion & passion, even his upbeat songs. The other part -- & possibly the greatest reason of all -- was his temperament. He was born w-a "nervous type" temperament & could not stop moving -- even when standing around talking to people -- something was always moving, a leg, a foot, tapping a pen in the palm of his hand -- he could not stand still for long.
Regarding his tiredness, not many people could stand up to what he did, 2ce a night, 7 nights a week for weeks & months at a time, never-ending traveling, hot, heavy jumpsuits & still sound great.

His version of You've Lost That Loving Feeling from the same concert in 1970 is phenomenal, turned it into his own, made you forget the original.

You may think ok it’s only been like 15 years since his younger Elvis full of energy reactions you just did. But Elvis was sent to the Army in 58 till 60 then he only had one television performance with Sinatra when he got back and didn’t perform again till 68 for his comeback special. For those 7 years in between he was tied down into a movie contract that he hated. I love allll of Elvis but my favorite was the 50s Elvis before the Army soo raw, carefree, naive, wild. His manager tried to tame him and his mother passed during that time as well. After he came back it was a new, reserved, mature Elvis. The amazing thing is you can see how Elvis’ voice matures and deepens through the years. ❤

What a great reaction Elvis always put so much into his performances it's not surprising that he looked tired in his live shows🎉 he always made a cover his own❤

I think you're right about Elvis being tired. I also agree about the way Elvis moved to the music. He not only sang the music, he felt the music, he was the music. Love your insights and reactions ❤

Elvis became one with the music. I never viewed Elvis as being tired here, it could just be that this was at the end of the set and he was a bit tired from all the jumping around.

One of the best Covers that Elvis did, in my opinion, is Bridge Over Troubled Water, which you can see in a live performance 1970 Las Vegas. It is quite simply, amazing, & Paul Simon, who was in the audience, turned to his companion when Elvis had finished singing, & said “Now how the hell are we going to top that”. He said it in a later interview. When he sang that Cover, he shows his great range of vocals. When he had a five year residency at the International Hilton, which turned into longer that, he was doing two sold out concerts daily, with three on weekends, plus rehearsals, for a month at a time, & in 1970 he was 35 years old ….. & in those concerts he had at least two very lively performances with Suspicious Minds & Polk Salad Annie (in his 1970 Las Vegas live concerts), & I imagine that went on for at least two years, & of course he was touring all around America as well, plus Hawaii & Canada. He kept himself fit by Karate, which he held a Black Belt to 8th degree, but his body must have been tiring more quickly, I would think.

Great reaction! But you we're wrong regarding being tired in that period of his life, but 2 years later it started to show, if you watch the whole concert from this outake, he was dancing almost the whole show and then it's normal to get tired

This combines two of the biggest musical influences I grew up listening to. Neil Diamond is a great writer. Elvis covered a lot of songs. I have yet to hear a bad cover. I suggest you look up early morning rain it was originally written by Gordon Lightfoot.

Speaking of covers, Elvis does a fantastic cover of Bridge Over Troubled Water from 1970. If you've never watched that I highly recommend you do so!

His high energy performances were very exhausting. The lights were hot and his custom made suits with all the gems and sequence weight 60 pounds. 0:06 He did vary the upbeat songs followed by a slower pace song so he could rest. This performance was filmed over 6 days is only one song from “That’s how it is”.

Tired? you mean gorgeous and sexy. I saw him in person and he looked way better in person. The most beautiful man I ever saw. Thanks. he was 35 here, doing three shows a night in Vegas, for 5 weeks straight with no days off. that's how his manager was. Remember his manager Parker was getting 50% of the cut, and had huge gambling debts. Many say Parker was why he dead at 42, not all true,, Elvis was plagued with a condition called Alpha 1, a double gene his grandparents were first cousins. His mother was 46, her two brothers were in their 40's all died of Heart disease, Liver failure and Lung problems. Thanks

I think if Jacob sees the entire performance he would change his mind about Elvis looking tired. At least in the sense of him being in a perpetual state of being tired and lacking energy. That general state would surface years later. However, in 1970 he was a tiger on stage. In shape mentally, vocally and physically. If you want to get a feel for Elvis in 1970 watch the documentary That’s the Way It Is. Then you can make a more knowledgeable judgement on whether he was underperforming on stage in 1970. The short answer is no but see it for yourself. If you don’t want to devote 90 minutes to the documentary you can fast forward to the performances.

    "looked a little tired"
jesus that man was giving two full on all out performances a night
    7 days a week for 2mos at a time...a dinner show & a midnight show & sometimes a 3am show...
and in-between his vegas engagements was touring the country non-stop..
sorry but name another performer that could pull off elvis' incredible vocals incredibly dynamic high energy stage show & not look a lil tired occasionally?
    no. one.
no one worked harder for their fans than elvis presley

You know that Elvis’s drummer Ronnie Tutt became Neil Diamond’s drummer after he died in around 1977 till 2019. He passed away last year. Btw please can you review some of Neil Diamond’s live performances in the 1970s???

Tired? come on....so please never watch his last performance before his tragic death in 77,at THIS PERIOD he was REALLY tired....Elvis no longer danced like the excited kid from the 50s, he had matured and tried to make himself more credible vocally so his wild dance moves were no longer the same in the 70s. these are 2 different era. You should also know that elvis had become a black belt in karate and that he had incorporated some of his movements into his dances. YOU SHOULD REACT to 68 comeback performance!

This is the magic of yesteryear real men with manly voices culture. They know how to bring their voices from below the navel way up to the head, unlike nowadays singers no melody and harmony just noise. I am 72 and can still do it bro. Jgd the yogi 👍
