It's official... I've been convinced to swap from supercharger to twin turbos on my Dodge Demon drag car. I thought it was about time to shake things up and convert my supercharged Dodge Challenger drag car just in time for Roadkill Nights 2024. 14 pounds of boost for 1165 hp can easily be made by a supercharger and without 1) all that massive extra heat being maintained under the hood, 2) adding a bunch of complexity and a shit ton of extra moving parts, and 3) turbo lag, 4) voiding any factory warranty, and 5) all the time, money spent to make this work which at the end of this video was STILL not done.

I asked the question before of why the dodge is supercharged and not turbo , while answering my own question in the same breath. But i still only like turbo. You can do way more with turbo . The new C8 ZR1 has twin turbochargers with sealed waste gates to keep the engine in boost . Among other tricks . Herman is learnin'

Or just a big ol single that's kind of what I was thinking. The reason to not do it is because it's expensive and complicated but he already had it and it has an intercooler with a bypass so no parisistic loss I'd like to know the reasoning. A rear mounted turbo would even make sense since it could take over on the high end. It would be less expensive oh and not stick out of the hood but I think he wanted that.

I have a C5 twin turbo 1100hp. I have had nothing but problems with it. I just shattered the driveshaft
Not hating or try to burst the bubble,
but normally the exhaust/hot side you want away from the engine/intake as far as possible.
And pointing it to the window like that can lead to fogging up at the start..
So as soon as you see that happen, you know wassup...

Have an idea have the exhaust going out the fenders where the demon logo is make a template over the exhaust color of the car to cover up the exhaust hole with a demon emblem on the cover so when the exhaust blow the demons blow open 🔥
It would be so cool if someone had enough time and money to do a turbo fed supercharger on one of these so you'd have that whine still but the boost of a turbo😢

Thats exactly what I was thinking. People that spend all that money twin turboing their cars but when the shit don't look good at all because the turbos aren't mirrored after it's said and done with. Way too complex... Only the delta s4 did it successfully and is a beast. At full boost the delta could go above 1000 hp 💀 on a 1.4l engine bruh
@@mordy2085 there has been several diesels set up like that, and numerous gasoline engines. Lancia is just well known due to its dominance in group b.
@@BloodAlwaysFindsItsLevel it’s actually not as much added weight as you think as the supercharger has an integrated air to water intercooler, the intake manifold etc that has to be replaced anyway when removing the supercharger. Also the supercharger becomes even more efficient when above atmospheric air is applied to the inlet. It would be instant boost from the supercharger, also the added air moved by the supercharger would allow the turbos to spool faster. It’s far more beneficial than you think. Hellion power systems made one for the 03-04 mustang cobra and it was incredible.

Harry was an absolute legend with his Grand Nationals and I'm talking about the late 1980s early 1990s.... I don't know why it takes you dodge guys so long to figure everything out turbocharging is always the most efficient power adder..... There was literally six and seven second Grand National Buicks back in those days 6 and 7 Fox body mustangs very basic ass cars that were killing the game back in those days.... As soon as the Chevy LS guys figure out how to use turbos the game was over.... So you😊 Dodge guys have a very very long way to go spend your time developing your turbo setups so you can be competitive.... The twin screws are awesome... But they will get their asses kicked in a very huge way roll on racing, then top speed racing and basically all roll on racing....
Hemi is only a term that loosely refers to the shape of your combustion chamber this is not difficult guys Dodge guys stay stuck behind forever....
