    Is there not a bulb available with resistor built in so you don’t have to strip the wires?

    With the workshop lights off, needed a before and after to see the difference. Just bought a new 2017 sport sdv6, arrives soon with all my extras! So excited, would love to see some vids for that :)

      Thats an older 2010-ish sport? I mentioned the new 2017 version for upgrades, mods etc.

    Hi PowerfulUKLTD, I'm having trouble installing these lights. I installed the LED light on the driver side mirror with the resistor and it works perfect as long as the passenger side has the original bulb . Once I change the passenger side to LED bulb both mirror lights stop working. All they do is both flash. Once I put the original bulb back in the passenger side they both work perfect. I've have tried to do this the reverse way by switching it to LED on passenger side and original on drivers side and they both work. Once I switch LED on drivers side they stop working and only flash. Any assistance would help. This is very frustrating. Thank You Again

      I'm having the same issue! even cleared the body control module and light control module faults. still no solution. Any word on the issue?

      I had the same issue. Adding resistors didn’t help either. Ended up only replacing drivers side and leaving passenger side as standard.

      Sorted it few minutes ago..
      100ohm 2w resistor patched into one LED.. original bulb patched into other LED (in place of second resistor).. so both blue LEDs are working for me now. Any probs, shoot me a msg on fb.. VJ Shabz 😎

      @@shabazz869 Can you explain a bit more on how you did this? I’m confused by the original bulb as 2nd resistor bit? Thanks 😊

    Could you do a video for upgrading the puddle lights on the Evoque - can't see how these are removed easily?

    great videos - after putting in LEDs then putting the original bulbs back after doing a full led upgrade of all internal bults - pressing the door close button twice hasnt reset my lights so they simply flash once - any help / advice greatly appreciated

    I have a Discovery 2015 facelift and the puddle
    Lights are not the same as these in the video. They are not squared off they are round with no obvious way to get a screw driver in to remove the casing. Has anyone found a way of removing the light? I have searched the Internet with no results. Many thanks.

    Just fitted some LED side light bulbs, do I need to solder in a resistor for them? With engine running but lights off the side lights momentarily flash independently of each other every twenty seconds? Any thoughts? They work properly when switched on?

    • @L663
      @L663  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This could be the bulb check pulse - the car sends out a pulse to check that the bulbs are present and correct - on non LED lights this pulse is not enough to illuminate the bulb but on LED they react so fast this can happen. A resistor may help as it will take some of the current of the pulse.

      @@L663 Thanks for info. Any help on the wing mirror holding micro switch question? How do I get the backing covers off to check the micro switch, my folding mirrors do a little dance and don't stay folded in?

    Guuys i m from istanbul i have very old 2006 l322 and i was going mad just because of that pudlle light as i was thinking that there cant be current control, so u guys save the day, thanks a lot. And one question the led i am using is a bit more powerfull so do you think can i use lower watts?

    • @L663
      @L663  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      In theory yes you can use higher Ohm resistor...this will run colder and then you can use lower wattage...

    The method of removing the light isn’t the best as it has the potential to damage plastics. I used the mirror control knob and tilted the mirrors inward to make a gap at the outside edge. Then just a torch to give a little light if needed will show up the release tab now visible through the gap so you then just push it with a screwdriver. No risk to plastics and no kneeling down.

    hi powerfulukltd, do you think a "T10 error free led bulb" (which has a resistor incorporated) would avoid the cutting and welding wirings work you show on the video? Thanks in advance !

    What kind of resistor please...???

    • @L663
      @L663  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The highest value resistor that works on our car was 100 Ohms - ideally you want the highest value that works as it will then run cooler. Heat is not such a problem on this as the lights are only on for a short time. The physical size of the resitor relates to the power it can disipate - we went for 2 watts. So 100 Ohm 2 Watt - you need to fit one on each side !

    On another video you made about changing mirror puddle light you simply changed the bulb over to a blue bulb and did not use a resistor

    • @L663
      @L663  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes as explained in the video there are problems on the L322 where the bulb just flashes - it seems the car detects the lower current and shuts it down... this "check circuit" is not there on the Sport / Freelander 2 etc. Hope this helps

      I did put your comment in Google Translate and here is what it says..
      so that for govnoifon takes, is not it possible there is a better camera. What is the resistor used? I can not see anything. watching video is from you and which asserts the camera you shit.
      The only thing i can understand is that you would like to know the resistor value - it is 100 Ohm / 2 watt. I hope this helps.
