I want to draw your attention to the fact that if Perplexity had equipped the Skull of Impending Doom and used it at the same time as his Living Action Potion, the battle would have taken a completely different turn. Maybe his item was on cooldown ? we never know. And it's impossible to imagine what dimension the battle could taken after that. I intentionally didn't mention it in the video because the goal was to analyze the actions present in the clip and not make assumptions about what could have happened.
How often do rogues walk around with skull on? I know it’s an important item but rogues like to use offhand weapons, so maybe perp didn’t have skull equipped. On my lock I always have a utility offhand, but lock’s don’t melee so it’s a no brainer!
@@tubesism its always better to run with the skull no matter what, especialy when you are a rogue, you can quickly adapting your weapon with sleath or even in combat with equipslot macro, but ! I've got well over 3000 hours /played on my rank 14 UD Rogue and all I do is PVP yet I still learned more about stealth mechanics in this video. Awesome job on this.. I'd love to see more Rogue breakdowns! (:
Awesome, love how you described it. Would love to see more like this. People dont realize how deep this game can be. Like chess with much more variables.
Good video analysis, Two points you missed: Not only was it to potentially gain an advantage, but to get a fight, stealth fights can easily end with one or both opponents escaping, but that's not a fight, they both wanted a fight, that's why this happened, and any decent player knows a rogue opener on another rogue is big, Perp isn't going to have his ego crushed by losing in such a scenario, and no player should, as it's a sizable advantage, kinda like how if a rogue lost and the other rogue used every CD to win, there's no shame in it. The method matters. Evasion: It's not even necessarily that bait. Another reason to use evasion is battle prep, (dodging a gouge, etc.) and it's a bait to say "we'll fight" which Perp probably thought "it's more likely he'll fight me" therein lies the bait, evasion>blind is a costly bait when you don't have evasion used, it's basically 'wasted' but in this gamble Pshero won, it's that simple, and in others, Perp will win, that's how it is. I also think Perp wasn't necessarily baited by the GCD method, (though he may have) because of the caliber of player he is. Setup and a prediction bet, (blind) was what won him the fight, predictions are a interesting thing.
Great video! I believe they fought a second time shortly after this and perplexity won. Would be interesting the an analysis of that fight as well. Good stuff man!
its anticipation not reaction. The only out for the rogue being opened first is to use a lap. Pshero is faking an ability using evasion and presses blind at the same time.
doesnt pshero also have 5/5 Master of deception since he is hemo spec and perp always plays Dagger spec so he wouldnt have the same level of reduced detection. unless he had stealth goggles, Hemo should always find a dagger specced rogue first in stealth no?
You are absolutely right, but we can't know precisely how Pshero and Perplex distributed their talent points, even though there are some consistencies by build. Therefore, I intentionally disregarded this fact and generalized, assuming that their levels of stealth were identical for the explanation, especially since both of them entered the incomprehensible zone instantly. There was no stealth battle between them, but yes!! that explains why Perplex made this reckless choice.
Good video - only thing is the evasion didn't bait bait Perp nor do I think Pshero used it for that purpose... he knew Perp would lap so pshero used evasion to dodge a potential gouge. Sadly Perp fucked up and pressed lap before waiting to see if Pshero would use a global, this sort of trick will work once
Great analysis and i did not mind the TTS at all. You noted the possibility of perplexity using skull here, i also was thinking he could sapper+blind as perp often does. Its not the traditional opening and has surprise factor, and Pshero is not on dwarf to remove the blind. Again awesome analysis
This goes way further than my only knowledge of rogue 1v1...i only knew that if the enemy pops evasion, get behind the enemy for kidneyshot since you have 100% dodge from front, not back which still applies to retail wow aswell in some ability cases
Great video man, it is one of the most great pvp video of wow I’ve ever seen since world of roguecraft. Would be great a series of videos dedicate deeply in every class of vanilla keep up with the good work
they've both messed up on the opener lol. the mount dismount trick was good on both their part but neither one of them vanished for improved stealth guaranteeing an opener. rogue vs rogue its always about stealth levels if you dont have 5/5 MoD or improved stealth the odds of winning are very slim. vanish giving 5 or 10 stealth levels. making the opener impossible for the other rogue unless they have a stealth set they have on hotkey (unlikely due to the reaction of both players, and also the due to GCD). you dont want to save vanish spare the opener unless you want to do some hat tricks like vanish blind or are preparing for some other tricks. though this was expected because good rogues tend to save cooldowns at all costs. had this been Payo vs any of these two I'm almost certain he would win because he utilizes this technique a lot (don't think he's the best, just an observation from his gameplay).
@nocoin5118 Orc and undead, both have their strengths and subtility Undead, except versus Mages, you never need to have your PvP trinket equipped, and Cannibalize can save you in a 1v2 situation. In the end, you have more versatility than Orcs. For these reasons, Undead is better when you are ungeared or mid-geared. Orcs are the massive choice when you are in the late game and overgeared. The attack power racial is absurd, providing 25% of your total AP. However, you always need to have your PvP trinket equipped when it's ready, obviously. and its a 5min cooldown againts 2 for undead. You can also pair your racial with a damage trinket and in Battlegrounds, with Berserk, your racial and a damage trinket, it's going to be a pure massacre. On top of that, you have your Stun Racial resistance, and some crazy situations can occur, like that => th-cam.com/users/shortsMARCJJ9U8Fc?si=tuUBScVQrW9RMZAc

evasion since he anticipated two outcomes. 1.) perplex uses living action potion during cheapshot and gouges him 2.) perplex uses living action potion during cheapshot and blinds him. reasons? cooldowns. evasion is not an a super important cooldown in this matchup and the odds of being right 50% of the time alongside the low risk of having used said cooldown.
