@@AngryGooseGaming57 his drop is actually useful when you get to NG+ as you will need it to make the Fuban staff which has the highest crit chance (25%) and pretty good effect
For platinum run you have to kill all four of his boys and him to get the 45th trophy, and take the token of love from Bajie for the violet spider 😢, but somehow it feels more sad to see him help you during the rooster scene
for real, no need for magic and stuffs, just straight up endless combo. Best fight in the game for me, even though I died like a hundred times, none of those time pissed me off cause I knew I lost because of skill issues
You’re missing an important item by skipping him. He gives you The Deathstinger and a bunch of other items that are needed to craft gear. I made that mistake first playthrough and I had to replay it just to fight him one on one for the item
@@dialac1 I’m still on my first play through now and I’m on chapter 6 struggling to beat Erlang. But i noticed I’ve missed a few things from getting on TH-cam and honestly if it wasn’t for commenters like you and pages like this giving me tips i would’ve missed so much more. My next playthrough I’ll definitely be able to get that 100%
@@AngryGooseGaming57 no seriously, I was so lost in that chapter I went to the final boss of the secret area rather than this guy which forced the game to skip this boss for me so i was chilling 😂
If you’re using the gold armour set then I would recommend also using an offense-oriented spirit. The 4 pice set bonus of the gold armour gives you “Qi” when performing critical hits, thus allowing you to use your spirit skills and vessel more frequently. Tigers acolyte is a spirit I would recommend as it performs its attack quickly, serves as a gap-closer, and only needs a moderate amount of qi to activate. Using spirit skills also doesn’t cancel your combo string, so if you hit the first 3 light attacks, then your spirit skill, then you can continue to your 4th and 5th light attacks.
This dude was really hard for me. I loved it. I really enjoyed this game. 10/10 but sometimes I did miss the difficulty of bosses being more like the ones in souls like games. This guy wasn’t That bad but he was fun to actually learn his moves and dodge the relentless spinning and stinging
Yeah i made the same mistake by destroying his jars. i was so bummed when i found out that he'd help you with duskveil later on if you didn't mess with him. two insanely difficult bosses lol
I found this guy easy killed him on 2nd try I legit feel like playstyles really matter in this game which is cool everyone struggled with this guy and then ones that took me 20 tries (yellow wind sage 😂) other people found easy
@@AngryGooseGaming57 I think rock solid is less effective against this one, cloud step, charged heavy attack, wandering wight headbut, pluck of many those are the skill that I used against this yaoguai, after 12 defeat 😅
@@AngryGooseGaming57 Ring of fire can heal overtime + build focus faster, good against slow boss, but if the boss aggressive it will be hard to utilize it well

Had to perfect this guy to get ahead 😂. But it was fun he doesn't have annoying timings
My experience fighting him is that always keep your health near maximum, because a full health bar will be faded away very fast with 1 combo only

This guy is too op, almost the same level as erlang shen. High damage and poison attack and tanky as well. The combo is also ridiculously long.

If you charge the staff under the red light it still holds the stat boost when you leave it and still does the extra damage

On NG+ i only died on 1 boss, bishui beast, beat all others on 1st try. NG++ is a much sadder story. It looks more like this 😅

yea, phase 2 killed me so many times. That was another boss I had to stop the recording to yell without blowing out people's headphones.

in events where immobilize doesn't work, I usually use Ring of Fire
