    Hi Ruth.
Found your channel a week ago and been binge watching your work.
So thankful for people like you keeping alive an almost lost art, and your work is beautiful, along with the stories you tell.
I wanted you to know that someone (me) in Australia appreciates you very much.
    Loving your Christmas ornaments too.
    Much love 🕊

      Yes, she is great.
I discovered her from a google of " Salvage Hunters the restorers " a TV show here in the UK..
Ruth and a Blacksmith called Neville are way above the other restorers - both truly skilled in their fields, without doubt " top
      drawer ".

I love that these videos show how to make heirloom decorations using classic techniques, whereas so many other YT craft videos just create garbage with plastic and concrete.

I'm trying to use just what's in the workshop or at home without buying anything new. Did have to buy the walnuts though 😁

Lovely. The beauty of nature mixed with the creativity & art of gilding.

I am really enjoying seeing what else you will come up with to decorate the tree. Very lovely :)

I love how the pink bowl didn't cover in the Groove it adds dimension to the ornament.

    Those sculptures...amazing.
Gesso putty.gesso made up at a less liquid ratio? I guess you can gild real fossils providing they are sealed with button polish first?

This looks amazing, I have not used copper leaf before, can a patina be added?

    • @RuthTappinGilder
      @RuthTappinGilder  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes you can, it will need to be seal or it will keep tarnishing, but that can be nice.

Do make your own compo? If so, what might your recipe be?

Quite apt to be using fish glue on an ammonite
