Something to note for the Roy build specifically is that you should carry a +1 to +3 Silver Blade for use with the Roy ult. The dragon-type bonus enables it to hit an extra row behind the first one, meaning you can potentially hit up to 6 enemies with it. With Sword Power, you would end up killing off any of the damaged and/or squishier units in that pile, which is an excellent way of getting maxed out Speedtaker stacks faster than you would normally be able to.
My favorite (after messing with dlc more) is Veronica Alear. Contract with dragon will give 2 to str def res and magic. With how it works the person you contract will receive the stats plus the extra 3 damage from alears personal skill(assuming you attack) I added sword power and vantage as well for reprisal shenanigans. Really enjoying it.
Sword agility and Sword power togethr is good if you just want to be a bruiser and set up kills for other units. Alear can fall short of killing an enemy sometimes but Alears utility has lots of potential Alear is very good at Avo tanking and can debuff units if you want to use Aleae as a debuffer. Pair up is also a mention but I think its too expensive. Byleth Marth lyn Corrin are my go to for Alear
By the way, Avoid + 30 on Alear was so helpful during that one Fell Xenologue mission. Dodged enough poison attacks so that i can heal my allies instead of healing Alear every turn.
I gave up on my first maddening run on that one chapter with the avalanches because my units were just too garbo to not get overwhelmed. I restarted and used some of your builds though and I think I might actually be able to beat the game after like 110 of playtime. Currently I'm running Alear with Lucina doing bonded shields with Perceptive and Avoid+ and its really a good time. (Even more fun since on the second run I've started skipping the cutscenes and enemy phases lol.)
dude once you get the alear emblem, divine dragon alear gets really bonkers. my last maddening run i used byleth alear for most of the game, and then in the late game, I got alear up to sword power 5, speed +5 and i would be doubling and one rounding every late game enemy with the corrupted engage sword. would easily get >50 attack, >40 speed after triggering attuned
@@shannonjones8877 making them dodgier makes them a fairly decent dps to follow on when your main is endanger after bad luck from a crit or something but also keeps alear alive when they need to be positioned be a buff magnet. Its also why Lucina is still arguably the best emblem for alear because alear is a terrible assault unit compared to many units due to the risk factor. Hell even the units people claim are overrated like Diamant and Timerra are better than allear for being an assault unit. You can fix alear being terrible at being your main dps by changing them to hero or wyvern but tbh its not worth it when you have so many good options that would benefit more for alear support than throwing allear to the frontlines.
Since alear has fists ans swords I wonder how a break defenses build would go over. Since daggers bows and tomes tend to be Squishy could be interesting. Also this class makes me realize I have no reason to use hero or sword Master on alear. Could easily be a sword damage carry.
I'm doing a break defense divine dragon build right now and it's been very effective. A spirit art orko most things except bow knights. I need a lil more speed but break defense is great if you want your alear engaged as must as possible.
Veyle, probably. Mostly due to her access to ranged weapons. She can use a thunder element tome to freeze opponents from a large distance while engaged, and she can dragonic hex without getting countered. if enemies are in a cross, Alear will not be able to freeze those enemies without using Levin sword and would be right next to one of those enemies, while Veyle with a thunder tome can do so safely. Her access to knives allow her to poison and dragonic hex at the same time. Her unique knife allows her to even poison armored units (although she might just kill those instead), since it does magic damage. Without DLC, Veyle is probably way more fun with Celica, especially after she gets Draconic hex from Corrin. Echo + Resonance + Draconic Hex is hilarious. Your second attack on the same target does more damage due to draconic hex. Or you can hex two enemies instead. Celica even gives +1 magic range to dragon units if you use echo, so you can use water tomes at 2 range even to enemies in avoid tiles.

With Roy's or Ike's engraving for maximum powah

1 year later and Engage+ is still underrated
I go for avoid stacks over combat with alear lol
Yeah i went with Canter and Resolve on my Alear but in hindsight i'm definitely thinking i should have went with Dual Support over Resolve.

It’s not hard to reach 170 avo which makes you unable to be hit by the final boss

Very good! Thanks 😊
Leif on Alfonse's sword? [writes that down]
Just so we're clear, it's for normal difficulty, right?
is alear or veyle the better corrin user?

Yunaka for me
Weird question, but is there a consensus on which gender for Alear is better?
It mostly doesn't matter, it only interacts with Chloe passive/Louis and Goldmary/Rosado passives as enemies
After all this time, would you still think that Chrom is the best partner for alear??
I wish the devs had given us more than 2 skill slots.
So if I want damage and have dlc I should use Chrom?
Yep the dex and strength boosts are very good for Alear since they can have strength issues
These guides are great!!! Will you be covering every character or only selected units? ❤️🔥🥰🥰🥰
Are there gonna be builds for every character?
Yes
