There are a couple contenders but this is one of the sweetest places for large, clean, highly logistical, and number of solid, functional malls per capita. @@ChrisNomaly you would be surprised to see that there are malls so big there's even a full-scale rollercoaster within a mall. Another mall even has rainforest build into it + skydiving arena + wallclimbing gym. Another mall has got petting zoo + ice skating rink inside it. Another mall is 8- storeys tall is fully dedicated to electronics, gadgets and tech stuffs.
It is hot and humid there, so malls are places to escape to, that's why they invest their money in building fancy malls! Go to the parks , they are always empty, lol

Oh yea, the younger ones seem more honest and the grab/metered taxi hybrid drivers are also decent. It’s just how things are evolving. Humans driving vehicles and large semi trucks 🚛 in the US are phasing out slowly. Pretty soon driverless cars will have their own lane to travel. All connected with each other and synchronized effortlessly without any accidents or issues. One day.. maybe on Mars.

18:21 you can actually use your existing charger, just need to get universal converter. Its only few ringgits and doesnt mess with your power since your existing charger will do all the work.
I’m sometimes obsessive with certain electronics. I’m actually using that converter for my MacBook since it’s 5 years old. My iPhone is newer so I wanted to make sure it was Apple’s genuine charger. But I’m sure that’s correct being it doesn’t change the electronic output with a converter.

Not far from. Pavilion, there are two mall nearby for dedicated gadgets, computer and electronic items. One is lowyat plaza and for old items you may go down the hill a bit for imbi plaza. As someone nearly 50 and pure kl boy.. Old Taxi driver mindset can't be change.. But younger one they choose to be metered and grab driver at same time.. And they usually do the right way. But this oldies are difficult due to ages practicing the method.. One good thing metered taxi driver is that when traffic is heavy. The meter start charge distance and time.. More slower they driver more money will be charge.. That's how they make money... That's why metered taxi only good for short distance or no traffic place. Especially from lrt mrt Station to home
I’ll take Grab anytime, mainly coz some (not all) cab drivers are hesitant to use their meters! You did the right thing, to insist on using the meter rather than be charged an exorbitant flat rate or rigged meters!
KL and PJ are just full of mega malls. Aside from Pavilion, there are also other high end malls like Suria KLCC, TRX (the latest addition), Berjaya Times Square, Mid valley mega mall, 1 Utama, Sunway Pyramid etc lost count really 😅

Grab and inDrive are the best I've seen so far. Metered taxi's are a relic of the past. This is coming from myself who drove a "gas and gate" taxi in America. Seeing the industry up close made me realize it was on its way out. I transitioned to Uber and Lyft which was safer for both parties. I still might drive a bit if I go back to the US, it would make for interesting content.

@@ChrisNomaly there's always a metro station near a big mall. For example, there's one next to Sogo by the river called Bandaraya station. This Line could get you all the way to southern surbubs of KL. But you can alight at Hang Tuah station and change to the Monorail line which is elevated along the streets of KL, giving you nice perspective of the city. This monorail also plies to Bukit Bintang where you can change to MRT yellow line. This yellow line gets you all the way to the administrative capital of Putrajaya, which sits in between KL proper and the airport. If you wanna maximize your way around, you can get the TouchNGo card for RM10 and ask for 1-day unlimited rides pass for another RM10. Then you can always top-up the same card for another days of travel. If you find the metro network useful, would recommend you to find accommodation close to the stations so you can just walk to the nearby station. Unfortunately Mont Kiara is currently on the blind spot of the network, but there are plans to build the 3rd MRT lines which includes that area in the coming few years time.
Kuala Lumpur is the best value city in the world as of now. I think that’s safe to say. For the prices you get safety, high quality food, transportation, clean air, no excessive noise pollution, and if you want to buy real estate it’s the lowest per square foot of many cities of its size.

Correct. My fare from the airport to the condo was 55 Ringgit on a flat rate, prepaid at the airport taxi desk. If this driver would have negotiated the fare to pavilion ahead of time, I would have been more understanding. I drove a gas and gate taxi, as well as Uber and Lyft in some major cities throughout the United States. Although I’m quite a few years out of that racket, I understand these guys are trying to maximize their income potential.

If you want a group photo or traveling solo and want a decent photo it can be worth it for them to airdrop it to your phone.
