No, why is LEGO so expensive? I get that it cost money to make new pieces, and some of those pieces are big, and bigfigures up the price by like $20, but why is a set with like 200+ pieces $50
Bro, in Nigeria, games are stupidly expensive. Inflation is crazy over here, so the newest releases are essentially unattainable unless you're very wealthy. Even ps5 launch titles are hella expensive 4 years later. We can't even buy games online cause our currency is not accepted. For context, 4 years ago, an average ps4 game cost about 10k to 20k, with new releases being +20k (which is pretty cheap and attainable here). Nowadays, one ps5 game alone is +30k for launch titles and GTA 5. +55k for popular games (like GoW Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West). And some new releases cost over 100k (the price of Spider Man 2, and FC 25). It's made gaming on a ps5 a very expensive and to be honest, it's kinda killed the magic of it.
Well the rich need a reason to be different then the poor, there is a demand for more luxury’s division since been poor and rick ( In US) looks very almost too similar.
I just sya I'm from South Africa and buy games using gift cards in that currency, recent Ps 30th anniversary was a wet dream and i got 15 games for under 1000 Rand
I think a main problem is that a lot of these games while yes they take a long time to developed, they kinda focus too much on 1 singular game rather than multiple projects, while yes red dead redemption 2 is an amazing game, it was the only game that rockstar had been on focused for the entire decade, imo i think game companies should do more variety games and not focus on so much details in game themselfs, so the market can feel more varied.
The only $70 game I have bought this year was Metaphor: ReFantazio. It's truly worth that price. But I would never buy another $70 game until Persona 6 or if there will be another Metaphor game.
I honestly believe the best reponse is for ppl to not buy the $70 games let companies know but the issue is ppl will still buy them which is why they raise the prices. They keep nudging and testing the waters seeing if were dumb enough to take the bait
2k and Madden microtransactions are so insane you get pop-ups literally as soon as tge games loads to buy vc or mut coins. You can't even hop into a game mode without being hit with microtransactions.
Also with 2k they shut down their online servers when they're 2 games in so for instance 2k25 is out, the servers for 23 get shutdown at the end of the year. The same will happen for 24 when 26 come out and so on. As for why it got taken off of steam, I have no clue
Ok so for madden I watched a tv show on it and this year it was just last years but with better graphics and a new physics based tackling system so it’s more worth it than cod at least
My solution to all of the high prices in gaming is that retailers should have better discounts on newer games after 2-3 weeks after release because why should we wait for months when we could wait for less?

Ideally the inflated price would help with the increased cost that comes when progressing technology and the increase in employees. Something to make gaming the best it can be at the given time. Unfortunately, that is extremely rare. Probably not even 1% of the market utilizes the funds the right way. A lot of devs care about inserting DEI and publishers care about pushing microtransactions and live services chasing the fortnite dream well of cash without reading the room that nothing is competing with the product they're trying to sell. No one wanted Concord cause it was $40 when OW already exists for free with better looking characters. XDefiant failed cause COD is a juggernaut with pre established loyal fans and is on gamepass. Foamstars failed cause Splatoon already exists. Hyper-scape failed cause Warzone already existed. Avengers failed cause Destiny already existed (and the game was cheeks). Predator Hunting Grounds, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Killer Klowns from Outer Space failed cause Dead by Daylight already exists. There's more examples, but you get my point. The buggets reason for games being as expensive as they are now is because of the need that people have for “better graphics”. I feel that we have hit a plateau with graphics and should focus more on gameplay like higher frame rates. But there is another reason for the higher price, this effects story games more like example god of war, the new ones. And that’s all the cinematic cutscenes that they have to add, in my opinion these scenes suck and makes the game boring to play. Go back to games like god of war 3 and other old story games, ya the scenes weren’t as cinamatic but they were fun because the people working at the companies were more focused on gameplay and fun rather then cutscenes and story. Plus all the woke shit that there adding to games is just killing them for me, I use to love playing my games now I can’t get threw any modern games.
