      Ya well that goes back to another issue; A lot of modern womens fashion (probably most) is basically appropriating traditional menswear and just making it 'cute' to wear for them. Its annoying because they keep taking our shit, from our clothes to our names (Kelly and Ashley were traditionally MENS names for example)

    Do NOT let anyone tell you who you need to be. Never apologize for expressing yourself. Just be you. Forget social media, forget following the crowd. Anyone who wants to follow "trend" is insecure. It's a phonie fabricated life. Just do what makes you happy. Having heart and being genuine is stronger than any materialistic life.

    so basically wear absolutely regular clothes and DONT express yourself in the art that people call fashion

    • @MorganKing95
      @MorganKing95 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I've managed to make a huge impression in my environments by wearing what you call "regular clothes". Why? Because of something called "confidence" and "personal branding"

    • @brandonkey181
      @brandonkey181 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Heres what I'll say. Regular clothes have a lot of range and you'll impress people not into fashion through that with great 'regular clothes' , and maybe you personally express yourself through that. But fashion is a way to express yourself and a great way to set yourself apart from the crowd. I think if your style isn't evolving over time, you're doing something wrong.

    • @MorganKing95
      @MorganKing95 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@brandonkey181
      You can stand apart from the crowd if you know what's appropriate, but you take a different approach than the other people. For example, I've attended a lot of local theatre premieres and know that semi-formal outfits are appropriate, but wheras most of the female guests just wear a simple dress and the males wear a simple shirt with dress pants, I step it up by wearing a sports coat or sometimes a charcoal suit.
      Another example is that bomber jackets and topcoats are very popular in my area, but I wear a red bomber jacket instead of black, green, or navy, and I wear either a grey or camel coat wheras most others wear black. I'm also standing by the philosophy that it's better to be overdressed than underdressed, but I also rock the rebel style if I'm going to a pub.
      Also, your choice of colors can say a lot of what type of person you are

    • @brandonkey181
      @brandonkey181 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MorganKing95 While you stand apart from the crowd wearing a charcoal suit, no one is surprised and probably no one takes too much notice. You could put a touch of fashion in the outfit in that scenario by wearing a monochrome print waistcoat (you probably know it as a vest) and a light overcoat, ditching the suit jacket entirely. Footwear is often what separates a bad outfit from a great one. Perhaps consider ditching the ever common dress shoe in favor for a formal leather boot. Non-harness wyatts, Maison Margiela tuxedo boots, and other boots alike give the outfit a sharp but elegant profile. If that felt too much for you, perhaps try an *oxford boot.* Still a nice profile, but a little closer to traditional menswear. Black leather chelseas boots are encouraged, although they are more common nowadays.

    • @MorganKing95
      @MorganKing95 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@brandonkey181
      People in my environment actually do get surprised for two reasons:
      1. Very few actually wear charcoal in my country in general. Black is the standard here even in the business environment.
      2. They dress like shit or are afraid to wear something that's not completely casual, so seeing me dress well is a huge surprise.
      Also, I have worn a charcoal sports coat over a dark red v-neck sweater with a white Oxford shirt underneath. Just the fact that I wore red got me noticed combined with the fact that I wore business casual when everyone else were completely casual. The reason I mentioned charcoal suit is because any suit in a dark color is consider formal in my country, so I got noticed for wearing formal wear when everybody else wore semi-formal or casual clothing

You want to wear those weird ass ninja turtle shoes and ugly dad sneakers? Wear printed t-shirts shirts whatever you want... Which looks nice just not graphic logo trash. Kani 😴 boring. Wake me up when you understand what fashion means. Then maybe you can leave a comment under a fashion based video. But coming from a small gamer, I wouldn’t expect you to have anything else in your closet

    • @its_kaniii
      @its_kaniii 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NotARandomUser1234 you know you have nothing to come back with. Your argument was flawed to begin with because they never implied, "wear white tee, plain blue jeans and regular ass shoes." The best you had was, "small gamer." Oh wow, that was so dry.
      I don't know man, you shouldn't be giving informative speeches when you have no clue yourself. I don't understand fashion? Isn't fashion highly subjective and not based upon predefined absolute rules. So to me, wearing essential basic clothes without much distraction is fashionable.
      You shouldn't be giving speeches on persuasion either. Your tried to depreciate my point with a pretty pathetic, "small gamer" argument as that has nothing to do with fashion. What is a small gamer anyways? Small as in size? I'm 180 cm tall so Idk about that. Small as in a TH-cam channel? Doesn't matter. Or small as in, value of my opinion, which is small because I play games? What are you even trying to apply?
      Aren't you an Asian? What do you know about fashion? The only thing you must be knowing is your calculus and algebra.
      Wake me up when you can construct a proper argument. 😴

      @@NotARandomUser1234 awww someone has lost his head today :^). I love how you are implying that I'm being angry when all I did was give a proper constructed response with a hint of humour unlike some dude who can only throw petty insults, "small gamer."
      How about you try and use your brain? It's a wonderful thing if you utilize it properly. Going back to the video, all they said was, get rid of 6 things. Super skinny jeans, excessively ragged clothes, excessive accessories, weird ass ninja turtle shoes, graphic tees with huge logos, and dad sneakers.
      Now I don't know much about fashion because I am just a, "small gamer" but, I'm pretty sure if you remove those 6 things from your wardrobe you would be left with far more clothing and fashionable choices than, "white tee, blue jeans and regular shoes." So no, they never implied, "stick to simple shit."

    If you really want to try out the "dad sneaker" trend, I recommend going for retro sneakers instead of those overprized ugly hyped sneakers. As an example, I like to wear my blackout Nike Airmax from time to time, because although they are bulky, they have still a classic design and they do not have those "in your face" attention grabbing vibes if you know what I mean. Not my first choice, but something you can wear, if you want to give this trend a chance (especially if you are a younger guy)

    What I don't like is when everybody tries to follow the same fashion trends and lots of people look almost the same. Or having to wear what people find attractive because they worry about people like you might think.

    My argument is with the way men's suits currently fit. They often look a size too small. I am a big fan of really classic clothing. Think Bogie, Cary Grant, Gary Cooper in suits. The fabrics, the textures, the cut, the fine tailoring, the way these suits fit and moved knocks me out. Now I see these otherwise great looking men who look like they grabbed their little brother's bar mitzvah suit and put it on. What's that about?
