I tried using Microsoft's AI platform - Copilot - to write reviews for some retro games. How well did it do?

    Bill,
You know, I wouldn't call it scary yet, more like manufactured cringe. The reason I found myself becoming more disinterested in large sites like IGN, Gamespot, Kotaku, and others like them, is because everything started to feel overly manufactured, generic, and template'd (this was all before the even worse agenda-mongering that happens today on top of it). Large companies often stymie original thought in favor of pleasing investors, leaving writers to comply and sound like A.I..
The A.I. written examples you provided in this video sound so uninspired and cliche ridden that to call them bland is being overly nice. If someone handed me that A.I generated summary of Bill's Retro Gaming Show to peak my interest, two sentences in, I would've stopped reading and avoided your channel. The script sounds like either someone couldn't be bothered to write something meaningful about you, opting instead to oversell a product through randomly choosing cool sounding words from a thesaurus, or is, in fact, written by a machine. None of it sounds real, and in fact is so general and pandering, that why should anyone really care? And seeing many companies today flooding reviews written by A.I. bots to bolster scores, means it's harder to trust an overall consensus. But taking the time to read the actual reviews it becomes easy to spot which ones are real and which ones are fake.
I'm interested in real people sharing true individual feelings about things. And if I sense something is regurgitation, or not honest, I bow out. Smartphones and the newly heightened interest in A.I. makes it so most don't have to think, or better themselves intellectually. This dumb-ing down has reached proportions I never thought possible, leading to facts becoming irrelevant and threats of cancellation when one doesn't buy into another's fictitious fantasy. That's what's really scary Bill.
I think there will always be some of us who refuse to simply exist to be spoon fed meaningless content. And I think A.I. will actually heighten the competition by weeding out people who don't want to put forth their best effort to create something great or worthwhile. The people just coasting by should be the ones afraid of A.I, because increasing numbers of folks seem more than happy to skim through A.I. drivel to get to the next trivial thing.
As with any tool, A.I. can both produce great things, or potentially do harm. I've played around with some applications that use the tech and found some fun and use, but I'm not going to let it replace what I do. Some A.I. tools have proven great enhancements to creativity, but then there are others programmed by activists that can remove an entire race of people within search engine results. I caution those who shortcut things through A.I., or want to go all in on the technology. There are some of us who will not waste our valuable time with inconsequential content no matter how flashy the title.
It sounds like this experiment may have been fruitful and could potentially up your game to compete with this new technology. I look forward to seeing this continued battle between Man and Machine :)
    Have a great one!
