After a long time, a character wears sari back to back with every bit of authenticity and spark. Why dont we staRt broadening the scope of 'glamour' on hindi cinema screen. ~My great grandmother always wore cotton saris from sabji mandi to festivity and celebrations. She is the most glamourous lady I have met in my lifetime. We might hv a collective insecurity about dressing in a modest Indian way and losing out on the global index of 'glamour'. I like these kind of interviews where it’s done after the movie has released and the audience has seen it. The actors can really sit and talk about the craft and how they developed the characters etc. Interviews before the film are all promotional drama, game shows and stupid stuff overall.

I'm waiting for the MM to be streamed online, But whereever I read reviews, the only praise for the movie is "Vidya Balan" , Starring opposite/along side Super star like AK ( I mean the kinda stardom these men get), Vidya stealing the show is something none of other heroine could grab, ofcourse there were few yesteryears like Sridevi, but VB is unique.
Balaji M Actresses have many times shadowed the so called superstars. But media never credits them for that. Even Vidya has a lead role in the film and Akshay is second lead, they still write in headlines as Akshay Kumar film. media should become more inclusive.

SriDevi in Chandni, Lamhe, Bangkok Hilton. Sharmila Tagore was one of the first to continue working while being a mother doing movies like Mausam. Smita Patil also acted in many female centric movies that we love to this day. Saying she is the most important female actor in the history of Bollywood is not something many would agree. But she is excellent and a joy to watch

It shows that the Indian homemaker is an amazing woman. In Sulu she's the frustrated homemaker who reinvents herself. In MM she's the scientist who juggles 3 roles. So different.

Tara was shown to be an intelligent & smart scientist (not so exuberant) who is a chilled-out homemaker too. Sridevis many movies , some of madhuri and kajols movies also centred around their strong characters. in that light , vidya balans answer was very humble and self aware.

@@cinnow No, even in Sulu she isn't in any way 'frustrated'. Right from the beginning of that film, she is trying her hands at different things, enjoying them, while still happily being a housewife and a mother. Watch that movie again if you are still confused about her character.
@@cinnow Not every homemaker possesses the same personality. Each one of them is different. Sulu was exuberant and always willing to do something new apart from being a homemaker. Tara was shown to be an intelligent & smart scientist (not so exuberant) who is a chilled-out homemaker too. And if u talk about her dressing sense, they both wear different kinds of saris in a very different style just as two different people.
