      @@zebonaut oh yeah! Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross. They also scored Social Network and Gone Girl which both have 10/10 soundtracks as well :)

      @@Corn_Pone_Flicks my question exactly?

    • @isLiminal
      @isLiminal 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@Corn_Pone_Flicks if I were to guess from what I know, the fire CG itself is very well done, the only problem is it doesn't match with the actual footage, obviously that much fire will over expose the entire shot from how much light it emits, so the environment looking clear and neat while there is that much fire nearby breaks the illusion. you can also see that from the actual footage where a lot of fire launches up for explosion reference, you'll see that the entire area lights up, and the exposure is the same as the shot where the car is on fire.

      @@isLiminal but the way it looks doesnt have to be 100% realistic, it could be an artistic decision to look like that

    • @isLiminal
      @isLiminal 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TotallyOKaYProductions definitely could be that. But in the end, its the audience who'll watch the movie, if something can potentially break the illusion at an important scene, it should be taken care of, which overrides any artistic decisions that could ruin it. then again this isn't a really big issue, its just a slight imperfection that i'm sure most don't care for, just nitpicky people.

    With amounts of cast, many takes & heavy VFX like these, can't believe David Fincher's budget is still mid category

    • @Whoa802
      @Whoa802 ปีที่แล้ว

      His budgets are pretty big for the kinds of movies he makes. A film like this or Gone Girl would normally cost around $30-50 million but both ended up costing over $60 million due to Fincher's perfectionism. I applaud him for being one of the very few modern directors who can get away with asking for however much money he needs on any given film, but I do wonder how much of it is worth it when so much of it is just minor visual minutiae (like that time he made the VFX team add hair on Jake Gyllenhaal's hands in Zodiac as they were apparently "too pretty"). Its heavy, bloated budget was the exact reason as to why this film underperformed at the box office.

      make it more period accurate, create better depth in shots and improve shot composition in general

    • @nishantpradhan7828
      @nishantpradhan7828 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      It's about perfection. David Fincher is notorious for level of detail. You can't pause on any frame in any of his films, and they almost reveal a story in themselves.

      It might be to reflect the depiction of the setting as accurately as it can to the book which did have a map of Hedeby Island.
