- Stimela is a South African Afro-fusion band, founded by Ray Phiri in 1982. They created Fire, Passion and Ecstasy (1982), Look, Listen and Decide (1986) as well as the controversial People Don't Talk So Let's Talk (1992).
In 1985 Paul Simon asked Ray and drummer Isaac Mtshali to join his Graceland project, which was successful but also helped the South Africans to make names for themselves abroad.
Ray was to collaborate with Paul Simon again on Simon's Rhythm of the Saints album, which saw him perform on stages such as Central Park and Madison Square Garden as well as appearing on top television shows in the USA.
Probably the greatest songwriter and composer ever.... The arrangement and delivery here is insane
Honesty opinion,Chikapa...
All of them worked very hard to give us those beautiful songs not one Man Isaac Mtshali in drum's (from Tokoza) I know him personally but all of them Pianists, Guitarists all of them including those Beautiful backing vocalists they worked very hard. Please can we stop praising one person it hurts to the people who contributed. Buy a CD or cassette or LP and see who did what to produce a song
❤³¹
We lost legends in SA, RIP bra Ray Phiri. Now bra Steve Kekana, RIP. This music will live forever
Now I understand why this Young artist of today can't remix this old songs. Damn the arrangement is crazy. Two pianist.. One playing chords other on the grand piano.. 😊
Yyeessss, please, say that again to infinity , OMG , someone out there thinks like me, guess what I still have the CD and i was playing it on Sunday 😭😭
