I liked my job as a garbage man, but it ruined my body. Also comes with a lot of dangers. Working on a rear pack, I always worried someone was going to rear end us on the main streets. I had a route that had needles loose in garbage cans. I got cut on broken glass at two straight houses, then found broken glass in a can at the 3rd house. Had a heavy bag rip, punched myself in the face and broke a tooth. Fun job, but dangerous and hard on the body. I messed up my back & shoulder, and have bad circulation in my hands and feet now. And I'm only in my mid 30's. :)

It must be different here in CA, I’ve never seen a garbage man outside the truck. They always used the arm thingy to grab the bins.

I run one of these but it's a split body, one side paper and the other plastics is a bitch cause in my area we pack out on plastics waaay before paper. Kinda sketchy driving on the highway with an uneven load too. One big hopper seems nice to have

I’m normal ride around on my bike helping my trash and recycling man, when I’m not at school. I’m currently waiting for the trash man to get back from emptying his truck.

It's not good to recycle if the materials is going to the landfields anyhow. I have seen a lot of this going in your landfields.
